Nicholson stated: “His style of football is the style of football that we want to see at Celtic. It’s aggressive, it’s attacking and we’re looking forward to seeing how that translates onto the pitch”.
Nicholson expressed the belief that Nancy was the “perfect fit” for the club’s vision, which aims to develop players and succeed with a specific performance style. Nancy, who received the MLS Coach of the Year award, also confirmed that the style of play was a primary reason for his recruitment, describing it as “proactive” and aiming to “attack the ball as soon as possible”.
5 goals conceded in two games, that’s the first issue the leader and his staff have to address, without a strong defensive platform to build on your philosophy for attacking football is going to fail
Roma in game management mode 2nd half, its a long season
Celtic park a spectator morgue in 2nd half
Dermot Desmond, Michael Nicholson and Peter Lawwell made the decision

Bernardo and Iheanacho both had good cameos.
The bonus of so many leaving early is that the boos didn’t seem that loud !

The Board went out and hired a manager mid season who is wedded to a specific system of play, for which we’ve no players.

admit it he has to go , absolutely nothing to think we will get any improvement from this formation or quality , embarrassed that we are walking round the pitch clapping the security staff , unbelievable , get rid.

I’m ok now – Ineacho has to start now – he has better all round footballing ability AND he showed plenty of dig and heart. I liked some of Celtics one touch football but it’s clear (regardless of systems and mangers) that we need better quality. doh!
good heart from the team – first half was down to worn personnel but the manager is learning. WHY DID HE PICK THE SAME TEAM TONIGHT?? Easy, to see if they responded to a few more training session . They didn’t.
Will be more interesting to see who starts on Sunday

Thought the changes made at half time made a difference, we were better and more direct. Roma 3 up took the foot of the gas, who knows?
Just got a text from one of the Donegal bhoys, who all stayed to the final whistle, ‘ faithful through and through my arse’. People pay money for their ticket and can leave whenever they want to but giving Hun Rory a second half to purr at the empty stadium isn’t a good.
Our bhoys will be home anytime between 4 and 4.30, they are faithful through and through.
Rant over!

Engels not blaming the system but blaming the players.

Another big question for me is ….. does Nancy have the leadership qualities and personal connection with the players that the best Celtic managers have had . He seems a low key character compared to the likes of Stein , Lenny , Ange Brendan . Martin got the players rallied , despite having been out of the management game for years and he did it by his experience , personality and presence .

Europe is beyond us,other teams have spent tens of millions to land the champions league and failed.I expect the spending in January to be minimal, with the board hoping that injured players make a return and go on to lift the title.(My prediction as well) Roll on Sunday….League cup victory.

Well done, MN, PL & Dd.
