Well done Celtic. A nerve-wracking first half, Hendry at fault for the first goal but then played much more solidly. Second half performance much stronger. French Eddy, Ntcham and McGregor full credit. On 80 minutes we were playing some lovely football.
The woodwork saved that team from a total pasting…

Well a good win for the Hoops but missed chances could cost us dear the away goal for Rosenborg gives them hope. Our defence will need to be at there best in the away leg but there again we may have one or two first team players back. H.H.

I missed the first 30 mins, where did JF start the game? Commentators kept saying BR moved him out wide right and that helped Gamboa.

Well done Celtic, BR is confident of scoring goals away, he admits the way we started was HIS fault, hit the bar 3 times good claim for a penalty not given. I believe Celtic will go through to play Athens.

BR on interview said they started with formation used in pre season but it wasn’t working and giving Rosenberg too much ball.
Made switch after 20 minutes and team played well, kept shape and showed resilience.
Woodwork saved them a couple of times and their keeper did well.
Think we will score over there and go through.

Celtic will score in Norway so that will negate the Rosenborg away goal and I can’t see this mob beating us by 3 goals, makeshift defence or not.

much better 2nd half, moving JF wide right made big improvement in our play , we could have had 5 , would have preferred a clean sheet but a victory so well done.
Great performance by the Bhoys. Once Brendan sorted his error of judgement we never looked like we’d throw this tie. Thing I love about Brendan is that he spots his errors early and changes ASAP. After many years watching managers scared to change anything for 70 mins this is still a breath of fresh air that Brendan id’s his mistakes and sort ASAP.
Well done the Bhoys.

Not sure what’s more surprising tonight. The pre-match negativity on here followed by the barely suppressed “telt yeez” when we went a goal down, or Boy George on BBC 1 singing Kevin Barry after a visit to Kilmainham.
Anyways. George was great. As was Celtic.

Get back oan the vino. :)
I thought a bit like you in first 25 ie we are not good enough to qualify but by the end I thought we were comfortable and our goals were of the highest quality.
If we can improve during 90 minutes then we can improve with each round so still in with a shout.
I know what I saw tonight, in the first half Rosenborg should have been out of sight, fair play that the manager saw what need to be changed and the players responded, but again if you are being honest with yourself you will see that.
I don’t crit the players or the manger, I just don’t do it, the suits are fair game, but we struggled tonight overall, it was down to their poor finishing that we got away with the win, the next round, if we get there won’t be so easy.
I am delighted that we did get the win btw :-)

Great results in the end. Was the game on the season book? Looked like a massive crowd.
Thought Gamboa had a very decent game, smart wee player and gave his all for 90 mins, Kris Ajer and Jack Hendry grew into the game and handled Bendtner very easily. A special mention for James Forrest who as one of Celtics more experienced Euro players put in a real shift tonight for his team.
French Eddy and Oli, we’ve won a watch with these two. Once Oli start really really running things he’ll make us tick alright.
Eddy two cracking and very different finishes from our centre forward, that Larssonesque chip was pure quality from a young Bhoy destined for big things..
FOr thE FiRSt 30 we WERE not GREat. Granted. BUT AFTER THAT WE WERE NEVER GOING TO LOSE. Brendan id’d his mistake and sorted. Other than their goal what other real opportunity did they have to score?
3:1 was less than we deserved in the end but I’ll take it as I think we can score against them if they come out to play and I cannot see them contriving 3 goals.
However, we should lay off the mineshafters because it was more than them who were worried in the first quarter of that game. A few of our boys started nervously and KT was having to curb his darts forward in order to “babysit” the back line.
Brendan switched JF back to the right and put Callum in his rightful 10 position after about 20 minutes. we had already started to get some resilience but, from that switch onwards we cranked it up and it was no surprise that we levelled. The 2nd goal was a surprise but we kept the pressure on until N’tcham decided 2:1 was ok and started to tell the defence to calm down and build more slowly. I was surprised by this as I thought we were more likely to get to 3:1 than they were to equalise. However, Olivier has the pitchside view and the football brain, so he proved that it was right to have a wee breather.
For me Callum McGregor and Sinky were the ones that dragged us up by the bootstraps but Jamesie, Odsonne, N’tcham and Kris Ajer all joined in. Jack Hendry and CHristian Gamboa recovered from early nerves and Kieran left his fledling chicks alone and started to maraud upfield again.
A vey enjoyable game- looking forward to next Wednesday already.
This was not on the SB. I think those of us on the Ticket Scheme had our books activated automatically and others bought tickets. The Alashkert game was the freebie.
MWD and TT- Rosenborg captain had a headed chance and their was a throughball where Bendtner had broken free of both CBs but, thankfully, Ajer stuck a long leg out and the ball stayed intercepted. They had, at least, those 2 chances to build on 1:0 which would have made life difficult but they did nothing much after we equalised.
