  1. It was a poor start, we looked a bit unsure of ourselves, had no real shape or flow to our play and lost a poor goal. Hendry was the wipping boy and for a while things looked like boiling over as the crowd turned on him. Even the usually reliable KT looked unsure of himself as he remained in defensive cover. Slowly but surely we came into it and deservedly equalised after a spell of pressure.

The second half was a different story as we dominated from start to finish. Ntcham took the game by the scruff and scored a beauty! Only the woodwork denied him what would have been a stunning second. Thereafter we popped the ball about with poise and were first to every ball as the Norwegians toiled. The decisive third duly followed after some good pressing, Edouard surged clear to expertly dink home, 21 years to the day Henrik arrived in Glasgow, how fitting. For a spell afterwards Eddy simply terrorised them as he popped up everywhere. By the end both teams seemed to be happy to settle for 3-1.

  2. There are countless more important things in football, however that result fair cheered me up in the very trendy Shoreditch tonight.

Don’t really care about the performance or who did what; we are all in this together.

Goodnight to all the Celtic family, roll on next week. Hail! Hail!

  3. !!Bada Bing!! on

Brendan said in his post match interview team were asked to play as have done until now like Moussa was in side, left gaps for them to break I to so had to change tactics. Also said it was his fault and effectively apologised to team. Changed shape after 20 minutes it’s a then controlled the game.

  4. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

    Cracking enjoyable game tonight.

    3-1 Flattered them.

Can’t see Celtic trying to defend the lead nor will Brendan try too.

Goals to be had over there as well.

  5. Hmm!

Just read back- there were a few premature obituaries being read on Celtic.

I can agree there was early cause for concern, I cannot see how anyone’s predictions for success, mediocryity, or abject failure could have crystalised from a 1:0 scoreline with less than half the game gone, far less the whole tie.

  6. delighted with that, shaky 1st 20 mins till Brendan changed it, thought Calmac had a great game after that change. their keeper had a great game and on another night we could have scored 8.

The young Bhoys at the back settled down and did well.

Our French connection is explosive and Odssone will only get better, been looking for a player to put his foot under the ball and over the Keeper when one on one since Henrik :)))))))))))))

SO IF SINKY HAD SCORED? WE weRE not anywhere near as bad as you are saying. We were not brilliant and they had a couple of half chances, nothing clear cut. Aberdeen blocked one and there may have been another couple of half chances. But if we are going with half chances we had 3 from edge of box, straight at keeper.

  8. very happy with the result especially after the shaky start, as has been said already, could and SHOULD be out of sight after very good 2nd half .

didn’t see Brendans interview but fair play to him for admitting his mistake and fixing it in time.

think we can get better again for away leg, as long as we keep the ball better than 1st half we will score & go through

  9. Just home .

What a performance. Quality, pace , movement, skill & confidence.

We will score a barrow load this season in domestic fitba.

We will also score against every other tier two team in Europe.

    Lots of positives.

Ps . Sack the board ;-)))

  10. Great performance and result.

Just imagine we kept Ajer Tierney, Ntcham, Dembele & Eduard for 5yrs. Forrest, McGregor and Griffiths aren’t going anywhere soon. There is a GREAT team there when they peak. Just a pity that the market dictates they will inevitably move on.

Great nights ahead as we see them develop I’m sure

  11. Made the effort to pay whole extra quid to let my dad use my son’s ticket.

Left CQN corner at 7.20. Ended up missing the first half hour as his ticket wouldn’t work and I had to re queue in the ticket farce mayhem.

If got better when I got there!!

Tie should be over. Pesky too-thick Woodwork and nimble dwarf keeper!

    HH jamesgang

  12. PS if Gamboa was playing for them tonight – which he used to – we’d be raving about the wee roadrunner and wanting to buy him.

    ??

  13. The result was never in doubt after 30 minutes.

By then We had gained total control of game.

The only doubt was the number of goals we would score.

Whatever we forked out for Edouard, be it 5,10 or 20 million, it will be a worthwhile investment.

He and Moussa will devastate SPFL and Champions League defenders this season.

Yes I am serious about Champions League.

I imagine AEK are concerned about their chances against us, and wondering how they can stop Eddie, suppress James or control Olivier.

    Yes I am that confident.

Last year we qualified without a striker in some games.

This year we can qualify without an experienced center half.

Talking of which, Azer is growing into a Billy McNeil.

I can think of no better praise.

  14. A superb second half performance that deserved more with two classy goals by our French Connection. Tres bon. Hh

  15. “Well, we can kiss goodbye to the CL this season and for the forseeable, we will sell now, it’s hard enough to qualify now, sell and we will have no chance, it’s what we are looking at.”

10 minutes in and its all over. pmsl. credibility zero.

apart from Armstrong we haven’t sold ANYONE since Rodger has arrived. apart from a very well spent record 9 million we haven’t bought anyone and that no hoper from the diddy team, Bain , who stepped in at the last minute to star in a classic old -firm game. lol. you dont have a clue about strategy.

with the EPL window closing early to spend big money before then is madness, apart from the fact that the best deals always come late.

looking forward to this season more than any other, this madnesss about 4 qualifiers wont go away, but the pressure is off in the SPFL and expect to see lots of our own young players get lots of game time and a lot of goals. young bhoys did alright.

IMO hibbees want Allen and its never been about the money. In Brenden i trust. Mginn is good enough for Celtic but 4-5–6 million spent as the window closes is on the cards. for a position that is well covered anyway. peace :)

    Good Evening fholks

What a fantastic second half, after a tentative first period. I would have liked a 4th goal ( I know I am greedy!) in case the “Jekyll” Celtic turn up next week, but we have given ourselves a very good chance of progressing.

Now need to find a pub in Dublin to watch the return game.

WITS if you are around -any suggestions? We will be based in Leopardstown for the week.

  17. Enjoyed game.

The two french bhoys are awesome & the best thing for me is they dont panic at all & take things in their stride.

It doesnt matter who they play against..particularly in SPL…doesnt faze them.

    Love it.

BTW ….Thought Rosenborg targeted KT to try & keep him busy and stop him coming forward……esp first half.

  18. Watched the game in a bar in Vilamoura. Slow start and a struggle for first 20 mins or so but once we upped the temp they couldn’t handle it. Woodwork and good save from the keeper kept it down to 3 when 5 or 6 looked likely in the 2nd half.

Forrest has carried on from last season, Ajer played in carpet slippers and Edouard is a bargain at whatever we paid for him. Add good performances from McGregor, Ntcham and Hendry and a great night for a young improving team.

  19. I am wondering where McGinn would fit into that midfield.

Who would make way for him?

Brown? In a couple of years, maybe.

    Ntcham? Snowball’s chance in hell.

Rogic? A platypus’ chance against a saltie.

McGregor? I was dubious about him for a while but he’s won me over. So no luck there.

I believe Christie is at least as good and will develop under Brendan if given some games.

Kouassi? Possibly, but that would relegate him to the bench.

So the only reason to sign him in the short term would be to deprive Sevco of signing him.

And they can afford him as readily as I can a Ferrari.

  20. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Only watching a sausage, but we’re we a bit lucky with no flag at the third goal?

    ?⚽️

I would suggest a trip into Dublin city centre to the bad ass cafe in temple bar for next week’s game. usually a really good crowd in there for every Celtic game

    enjoy Dublin

  22. HUNDERBIRDS ARE GONE on 25TH JULY 2018 11:18 PM,

No, got it on loop, linesman ducks to have look, play on, goal.

Not often we get that benefit.

    ?

  23. Just in from the game. Great night. Had a sense of dark foreboding when we went 0-1 down but didn’t panic just like the other fans in the stadium. Saved our boos for the ref and his assistants. Got behind our young Bhoys and, by God, we’re we rewarded. A tremendous performance by the players and great decisions by Brendan.

We worked our way back and got the victory we deserved – no, strike that, we deserved more. It could have been seven but for the woodwork on three occasions and the ref turning down a blatant penalty. Well done Bhoys. I think we can also win in Norway. They were running on empty in the last 15 minutes and they are half way through their season. It speaks volumes for our players’ fitness levels.

You’ve always been one of my favourite posters on here so I hate disagreeing with you! Did you bump your head before watching the game? ? Anyways let’s all save the angst for another day and enjoy Celtic having won the game with a bit of style.

Incidentally, what about those French lads? Va va vroom, or what?

  24. GH 11.16

Why worry about the first eleven ?

Good squads win trebles and compete in Europe. Not eleven players.

Brendan wants him . Trust Brendan. HH
