Can’t say much positive about that boring unimaginable display

Too many midfielders in the side

  2. Jimmynotpaul on

Griffiths injured so wouldn’t be playing any way, in fact he’s doubtful for next Week too.

    Hail Hail

  3. You can see this team are well into their season..working and closing down as a team, their fitness levels making us look a wee bit sluggish..

Keep the heid Celts, imperative we don’t concede..

  4. Far too slow too many passes, no shots when we could have had a couple of goes, need to do much better

  5. HT 0-0. Game going according to RB’s plan. Celtic with the majority of possession but struggling to find an opening. A couple of Celtic players off the pace. We need to up our game if we are to win this.

  6. The empty TGB section of the ground is a bit like looking at a beautiful women who has a couple of missing front teeth.

  7. Going by the first half I’d be happy to take a 1-0 lead in to the next game. Rosenborg look like they might get something on the break

The clever possession passing is all very well but we need players to go round defenders, especially players such as Scott S and James F. If two times out of three they don’t succeed, I’ll take that. It’s that third successful attempt that matters. Have a go.

    TET.

Is it great minds think alike or fools seldom differ? :-)))

    Hail Hail

  10. I think Hayes on for Forrest is a good shout. You tell in the first few minutes when he ran the ball out of play it was going to be one of those Forrest performances. That’s just the way it goes – sometimes he’s great. Sometimes he isn’t.

Hayes is at least direct and keen to make an impression.

Poor first half, way off whats required.

    RB coping well.

I hope Brendan gives a good talk at HT.

Let’s hope the “wearing them down” tactic works and that the second half brings a shower of goals or at least a couple.

Most obviously, we’re missing a centre forward tonight. When the ball comes down the right, Lustig is reluctant to cross into the box, because there’s no target to hit. Forrest cuts inside and runs in front of opponents with no penetration, and looks eager, but just needs to relax a bit. Always looks to me like he tries to play the game too fast.

Left side is promising with Tierney a constant threat and Sinclair also threatening from the old ‘inside left’ position. armstrong making runs into the box, but it’s always so crowded. Brown and Ntcham controlloing the midfield

Rogic is our most creative player, but withiut a recognised striker playing ahead of him, defense have no worries about a striker getting in behind so are able to press Rogic quite closely.

Defense has been largely untroubled. Simunovic guiding young Ajer throuh the game and both look comfortable so far.

Hope Craig Gordon has a good crossword puzzle or some good youtube tunes on his tablet. Very quiet nit for him so far. Only one real involvement since Celtic TV allowed me to get signed in.

First 20 minutes missed for the second game in a row. Get it sorted Celtic, or you’ll lose my subscription.

In terms of going forward watching that first half was like taking a time machine back to the first half of the Hampden 94/95 season and the flair and dynamic movement of Andy Walker and Willie Falconer.

When you have nothing at the sharp end you are always liable to be hit with the sucker punch in these games.

Set pieces are our best chance of something tonight.

  15. oh for a fit centre , way to slow build up, passing across the park but when else can we do without a target man up front, TR trying to play in a position not suited to him looks undecided where he should be , we are keeping possession but have to be clinical in final third, ML looks our weak link.

  16. when is forrest ever great in these situations?/ . he hates crowded defenses and prefers open space to run in to – better choice for away games!

Missing Roberts and Hayes is a good shout since he isnt afraid to take a man on.

Forrest for me is just not consistent or confident enough for Celtic i’m afraid!

  17. Celtic tv like a metaphor.for the clubensive but frequently fails to deliver

    Full of promise and expensive

  18. Struggling with no striker, as expected. Big mistake not having a 3rd option. We need to work it so that when the ball comes into the middle from wide just outside the area Rogic is the one running on to it. Lustig turns back every time he gets it and Forrest isn’t getting to the byline enough either on the right. Much more productive on the left.

Apologies for all they typos. I type like James Forrest plays sometime.

Slow down a wee bit Jamesie.

  21. !!Bada Bing!! on

Sinclair and Armstrong running into each other , switch him and Rogic, all forward players need to do a lot more
