    I thought Bauer was fine, Hayes and Johnson bloody awful. To win a game 3:0 carrying two players was an achievement😱

    When we’re kneck and kneck with 16 games next it’s unavoidable, we need to be better than them between now and the end of the season.

     

     

    My point was more that two victories in 3 days when we’ve scored 3 goals in both after failing to do so for the previous 9 games, while they struggled to a 1-0 home victory against St Mirten seems to have triggered panic in some supporters.

     

     

    We need to be better than them, we do seem to have been since the break.

     

     

    They’ll probably thump Hearts tomorrow but :)

    Why have a £2m left back and play a winger at left back . I just can’t understand some of NL team selections and tactics. I have to admit, the manager is the only person who is going to lose us the league and not PL , the referees or even sevco

    The same way in the last 12mths he has secured a Scottish Cup victory, a League title, a League cup victory and a first ever Europa league section triumph …

     

     

    Anybody would think we weren’t 5pts clear in the title race with a third of the domestic trophies already won and a winnable last 32 tie in the Europa league ….

    we have spent allegedly £5m on 2 left backs and our manager has made up his mind and will not play either of them , they must be poor at the training.

    Posters on here relying on Arzani, Shved and Bayo, couldn’t muster a place on the bench between them. You try and tell them but some are so naive.

     

     

    Yes 3 nil is satisfactory, but RC are the worst defence in the league and the chances they created is alarming. It’s not right, massive week in the transfer market, now would definitely be the time for PL to earn those massive wages.

     

     

    Thank you OE, i joked about, subbing him immediately after he got his second, our last player of real quality.

     

    Thanks also to Brendan Rodgers for being so dogged in his pursuit.

    Haven’t seen any of today’s game but the comments on Jonny Hayes and Bauer don’t surprise me . I thought Hayes was poor defensively against Killie as was Bauer , although he only came on later. I wasn’t greatly impressed with Taylor against Thistle but defensively he would seem to be a bit safer than JH . Full back is a position we need to strengthen in , although having Elhamed back would help.

    James McClean like John McGinn would never be allowed to play the game the way they do with a Celtic top on,absolutely no way.

    the amount of transfer money spent, and on wages only to decide that certain new players are not up to it based on how they perform at training is frightening.

    Your last sentence hits the nail on the head. A Charlie Musonda loan type who doesn’t cut it with us, is one thing but players we have scouted and signed for millions !??

     

    We sign players to improve the team and some of them never see the light of day . A puzzle and a worry , wrapped in an enigma.

    maybe instead of doing our scouting of future buys on YouTube , we should just turn up at their training grounds and just watch how they perform at training before we commit to purchase.

    Poor show today .I posted through the week my fears about our full backs . Watching the game today , only hightened my fears ,I saw high balls getting punted to our back post where we had two of the smallest players on the park . Elhamed is a big miss for us ,unfortunately for me left back is still a problem position . We could also do with another CH . A bit more aggression in midfield

     

    Which I feel soro will supply . The griff if played alongside eddy will do for me . Mikey johnstone, good prospect , but not tough enough yet , james Forrest well out of form .and a bit too soft to depend on in the rough tough games we must win ..a few spots

     

    I feel we could improve on . But wont . No 9 is gonna be a tough ask .

    I didn’t see the game today but am not going to be slagging off Jonny Hayes, Martin O’Neill trusted Steve Guppy, Gordon Strachan with Paul Telfer, and Jonny is somebody that Neil trusts .. us part time managers & pundits can type our opinions but it’s Neil who has to go with his opinion… one that actually stills get slaughtered when we are successful :-)

    I hear you but something confuses. On Jonny’s left hand side he’s also signed Taylor, Bolingoli, loaned in Elyounassi & promoted Mikey Johnson. Hardly a ringing endorsement for Jonny, who comes in and underwhelms.

    Tremendous result today.

     

     

    The manner of victory and the weaknesses will be forgotten soon.

     

     

    Leagues are won on a series of easy games, struggling games, boring games, jammy wins and unjustified defeats.

     

     

    When we won the league after the Dubai trip last season, we started with a 3:0 SC win vs Airdrie. Brendan Rodgers said “It took us a bit of time to get going, but after that first 15-20 minutes, we started to find the gaps.”

     

     

    We followed up with a 3 home wins:-

     

     

    4:0 vs St. Mirren

     

    3:0 vs Hamilton

     

    2:0 vs St. Johnstone

     

     

    A fortuitous run of games with a good performance vs St. Mirren, a torpid performance vs Hamilton where we were gifted 2 late goals by their keeper to clinch it and a narrow win vs St. Johnstone with two 2nd half strikes, and a lot of criticism from the crowd and on CQN.

     

     

    Then Lenny took over and guided us through a harder set of February and March fixtures to win the league.

     

     

    That is how leagues are won. On bad days and struggling days as well as on the rarer free flowing ones.

     

     

    The stylistic criticism will soon be forgotten IF we win this league.

     

     

    No-one will own up to having been a critic IF we win this league.

     

     

    All the regular shouts of:

     

     

    No plan B vs Tinkerman

     

    Bizarre subs vs How did he get kept on?

     

    Only plays his favourites vs Why is he bringing him on when we’ve not seen him before?

     

    Lawwell’s in charge vs It’s all Neil’s fault.

     

     

    Will fade out like so much tumbleweed…….

     

     

     

    But, if we lose the league…….

     

     

    Hell breaks lose. People who have been saying “If we keep playing like this, we’ll lose the league” for the past 8 years will be on claiming to have “told you so”.

     

     

    That’s why I rejoice at 3 points gained and pressure back on Sevco tomorrow- all else will be tomorrow’s fish wrappings ( or blog archives- to bring the referemce up to date).

     

     

    On to Perth and our next challenge!

    Every manager have their favourites… I think it’s more of a trust issue than a favourite issue …

     

     

    Jonny Hayes is the current topic… I think Neil can rely on him more than Bolingoli (who I like) and Taylor (who I also like) … in my amateur opinion I think Taylor away from home or in Europe … at Celtic park against any opposition Bolingoli … but Neil fancies Jonny … One thing I am sure of, Neil Lennon has forgotten more about football than I know of :-)

    Aye , me too! Thing is , we need a full back with Jonny’s attitude but with defensive abilities to match. Wee Jeremie is not really a full back but be is a good player . Boli is meant to be a full back but is not a great player . Elhamed is nearest we’ve got if we can get him fit and keep him fit.
