Thought it odd they’d play him yesterday if they thought a sale was imminent.

Eric Black is one of few players to have scored a hat trick against Celtic at Parkhead. This was third in Aberdeen’s 3-1 win 1983. Look at crowd which was given as 42,000. How could you fit a further 25,000 to bring it up to capacity? The old Celtic board certainly took liberties

Its not every kid that will be able to go straight into celtic’s first 11, no shame in getting out and getting games mcgregor and ajer are good examples to others as is Christie albeit we bought him. From 18 to 21 these kids need to be getting game time in adult football.

Tbf the academy has produced some very good players over the past decade. its great to see one of your own pull on the hoops and preform at the top.

I’m signed up to Celtic tv and had no issues with game, all worked well and looked and sounded better. Play was good wasted chances but not worried about that once we click we very quickly get to 4 or 5 in a match.

    Lockdown and Scottish referees?

Seems they kept up to speed with ignoring fouls on Celtic players, while when you have no choice but to give the foul completely ignore the yellow card (foul on Taylor). Very impressive!

  6. Interested to see the line-up tomorrow vs Hibs :

  7. Think we’ll get the goal keeper position sorted this week and hopefully a few more in over the weeks ahead. Right now, we’re in a good position but we can’t rest easy until the window closes in October as regards keeping our key men.

Actually forgot big Ajer went out on loan, he was actually very complimentary about McCullough while at Killie … am in agreement with you the more experience for the younger players the better … I read on here earlier that โ€œlennoxtownโ€ wasnโ€™t producing โ€œenoughโ€ but over the last 10 / 20 years I think Celtic have produced plenty of professional footballers … itโ€™s difficult for any club in the world to produce the very top players hence Bayern, Man City, Barca, Dortmund etc try and entice other clubs kids …. I think Celtic are doing just fine :-)

Re attendances. After the defeat to AC Milan (1969) QF European cup,I and a few friends stayed in the Port and went to the Partick Thistle game( yogi scored) on the Saturday, and the attendance was given as 29,000.No way

was that the true figure…..perhaps something in the region of 50,000 was more realistic.

A wee poser:Who was the keeper on the bench v AC Milan at Celtic Park for above game?

Imagine we had Boruc instead of Bonner in the 80s. How many more trophies would we have won?

  11. GFTB- early night for you tonight, you’re my wingman tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜ I’ll need you level headed.

Make sure you give that Dallas Dallas one the crap cases. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Took delivery of a new settee today. Who knew that this would make the Mrs happy and less pissed off than normal. Worth every penny. Bugger to get in the house though.

I couldn’t perceive of the league kicking off with no fans. If someone said this last year I’d say they were havering. But it’s here. Let’s support the team as best as we can. HH

Was in sunny Knightswood today. Nothing much changes, apart from the fact that Knightswood has become Tim infested. Magic ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚

  13. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Delaneyโ€™s , a Tim takeover of Knightswood is long overdue lol.

  14. G- man, how nice to see your moniker on here. You’re a star man. Didn’t thank you enough for sorting tickets for me. Proper Tim.

Wee story – bought a bow and arrows fae China to have a hobby and look cool as feck.

Came home from a break in Lochgilphead, Mrs did a laundry and was hanging it out.

“Eeek!” She shouted. Rat in bird feeder cage.

“Fetch by bow and arrow!” I exclaimed in a manly way.

“Don’t hit wee Mary as she sits behind yon fence!”

8 metres from the wee bugger, although it might have been 20, I let fly.

“Squeal” a hit, a very palpable hit.

Wee fecker squirming, arrow thru leg.

It got off but hasn’t been back. ๐Ÿ‘

  15. I for one will be glad to see the back of Morelos.Single handedly kept them up with us until New Year.Got them through in Europe with a load of goals.Almost impossible for them to replace his goals.

Fine young Catholic fella, that he is.

The blind leading the blind :-)

You better make sure the โ€œtime policeโ€ know am your wingman Monday-Thursday … no chance SO has informed them although he told me he has …. as for Dallas … before Covid I didnโ€™t think he could go slower … but he has proved me incorrect again :-)

  17. Bedtime for me … last comment on the VST as far as I know most got on no bother … a few teething problems or maybe circa (taking into account family STs) 40k log ons to a service making its debut .. hope next Sunday itโ€™s up and running for all …

As for next Sunday would be delighted if big Fraser has the gloves but Scott Bain wouldnโ€™t worry me… his Ibrox debut was outstanding and thatโ€™s probably our most difficult domestic fixture …

Donโ€™t believe the doubters … they have been doubting for the last 9 seasons and they wonโ€™t change anytime soon (or ever :-)

    Hail Hail

  18. Seems to be a bit of noise on this one …

Celtic are now in advanced talks with West Ham forward Albian Ajeti over a season-long loan.

The Hoops hope to secure the deal with an option to buy, for a fee of around ยฃ5m.

Not done yet, but progressing well.

EPL and European clubs also monitoring his situation.

  19. That Eric Black game was my first at CP. I was in the jungle near the celtic end so you can technically see me in that photo in my snorkel

Hi, did Fergus not insist that RFC shouldn’t be put out of the top league, also that it would be the worst decision in Scottish football history, if RFC were removed from the same League as, Celtic FC? Even after being found out for a major tax fraud.

    Hail, Hail.

  21. Thanks for all updates about game, very interesting, especial about Eddie

comments about him being surrounded take me back to Sep/oct/Nov/dec alot of teams doubled or trebled up on eddie and we were stuck

then jan we went to two up front( every celtic team playing in scotland in domestic an European should always play two up front) and edddie dropped back about 10 yards and griffs being more mobile and presto we were formidable

need two upfront at all times in scotland

  22. Good morning cqn from a wet and grey Garngad

When VST worked yesterday it was good, let’s hope any teething problems are ironed out for this Sunday. Although today’s game would ge a good start.

I’m with Sydneytim 2 up top with Eddie dropping and running at defenders it’s a must.

its not negotiable we found out what a change that made, it was not some magic team building in Dubai

it was simple two good strikers up front and defenders don’s know who to mark and Eddie drops back and destroys defenses with his runs and if he passes forward passes there is griffs there

we stopped the two up front only because we would not buy two goal scoring strikers we have 2 now play them and if one gets injured play kilmala

Flawless experience with VST and thought the team did OK.

Hope those who had service issues get them sorted for Sunday.

    Ajer looked physically impressive.

That lanky youth is gone, replaced by a powerful Nordic athlete.

I have seen no evidence of that but given the hard nosed businessman that he was I see reason to think that he would have acted any differently from the current Board in terms of wanting a version of Rangers to be able to participate in Scottish football.
