I enjoyed watching Raducanu win last night wearing Romanian colours, though there has to be something wrong with the WTA worldwide.
Not a chance of next year’s FA Cup Final being played between Barnet v West Warrington Armadillos and if it happens, the BTSport and Sky regulars on this blog and elsewhere will not be waxing lyrical about the strength, depth and sunny future of English football.

Same strategy as suggested for UK by Dame Gilbert who invented the AZ jab in the Telegraph on Friday.
Weird that Celtic and other Scottish clubs need to spend time, money and effort on an unnecessary law like this when Newcastle London or Scottish Rugby clubs or Manchester or Belfast don’t. God knows it’s tough enough for our clubs to make the financials work.
Personally kinda glad I won’t be there in October for the chaos at the initial games. Going to watch football at Newcastle or Manchester or the amateurs for this next month or two might be a decent substitute / change until sanity prevails.

Who would win in fight between old out of touch incompetents and too young inexperienced underqualifieds.
Thetruthwillout CSC
Well, we know that the out of touch incompetents couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag – as throwing away Brendan Rodgers advantage in a matter of months and loosing the ten to mediocre Rangers testifies.
They were stuck in the headlights last season and could not do a thing about it…
I don’t think the too underqualified and too inexperienced is really fair on Dom McKay.
The progress we have made from June until September is really quite incredible, when you think of our attitude, performances and squad last season to where we are now, huge strides.
There is not one iota of evidence to support the view you present and plenty to suggest we were going in the right direction with middle aged Dom.
Remember the utterances from Lenny and the Board got to the level of total embarrassments last season.
Our statements and managers press conferences have been much, much better and more professional this season.
The statement on the Rangers’ racists for example… First time since John Reid Celtic grow a set… Was that a problem for some!?
Were these the same guys who wanted Gordon Strachan for DoF!?
At the time I read this, it certainly made me think Dom McKay had thrown down the gauntlet…
[On Gordon Strachan coming in] McKay said: “No. I want to make my own mark and part of that is looking at how we might want to modernise and evolve. I will make sure we are a forward looking club.”
On future structure, McKay added: “I am completely open minded.
“Your suggestion was that Gordon was coming in to do a director of football role, that is not my intention.
“Once we get the structure right we will make the decisions on who to populate that with.”
A man of cajones AND integrity… No place on a Celtic Board for such a man, a manwho fights his corner…
We are just getting Stronger. Yesterday was a Massive win.

Two random things I liked this weekend:
In the pub yesterday after our game, football was on the tv. Within seconds, I knew it was Leipzig v Bayern because the Bundesliga club names on the back of jerseys are above the number, player’s names below. Sensible.
Celtic Women had a good comeback draw today, playing the Penny Cars Stadium in the correct first half/second half direction for our fans. I wish the B team bhoys would smarten their act and do the same.
Quelle surprise, that your mind seems already made up, and is weighing in heavily on the latest ‘victim’ of Celtic Football Club or ‘ .
I liked Dominic, I liked his “ our noisy neighbours “ quote, and I saw potential in his telling the press ‘Celtic had, as usual sold more season tickets than any club in Scotland. His picture when we really did jet in Ange in a private Lear, was classy.
But since he fell silent not long after his own launch, you me and every other joe sixpack Celtic supporter have only guess’s in what has happened, what he was responsible for and whether he can be seperated in the signings of Starfelt or Kyogo? Good on him, if the £20M outward spend in one window was his doing, I like him even more.
He’s pretty popular already in the Celtic memory but whether he jumped or was pushed, it was the same old out of touch incompetents, that appointed him and his egg shaped CV.

Well that was quite the weekend!! What to make of all that?
Lots of rumours abound, but (and not in the know at all) for me it’s starting to look like:
1. Desmond and McKay didn’t appear to get on particularly well, whereas Desmond and Ange do seem to;
2. Ange got a bit annoyed earlier In the window. Desmond offered McKay some help from Lawell which McKay quite sensibly rejected. Desmond “became more hands on” as a result (or got his boy or Nicholson to help) and obvious felt a bit irked by it;
3. Pre-Juranovic, Desmond and the Board put a pause on spending – probably until some monies were brought in by selling Eddie/Christie. Knowing Ange needed a right back, we went for Couto;
4. Couto knocked us back, and McKay then panicked when faced by an annoyed and demanding Ange. He spent on Juranovic, probably suggesting it was fine as we’d bank some money later in the window. The Board didn’t like the speculate to accumulate approach, and Bankier had a whinge to Desmond;
5. We did sell Eddie and Christie allowing us to bring in the Greek, Scales (which Desmond probably sorted), Jota and CCV;
6. By now Desmond was supremely p*sped off with McKay and doubting he was the right man. McKay meanwhile felt he wasn’t being allowed to develop the job the way he wanted: Strachan probably part of the issue – probably acceptable “modernisation” for the board but not McKay; possibly also some dispute between McKay and Ange about the remit of Ange and who would appoint the new Heads of sports science, recruitment,etc (Ange talks a lot about how people will be brought in “if he thinks they are needed”).
All this probably led to a heated discussion ending in McKay saying something like “you wanted me to modernise the club and the Board aren’t helping so back me or sack me” leading to the latter.
I’m sure we’ll start hearing from sources close to McKay soon, and Paul may have been leaked more details. Whatever it is, we’re a laughing stock (again) and have given the media the opportunity to gloss over the rabid anti-Irish racism that’s so prevalent at the minute.
