In all honesty….IF Celtic do NOT Score AT LEAST 4 or 5 Goals against the Huns in the League Cup Final in two weeks time….I may eat some elses HAT…?

    LOL.

    …………..

I would eat my own Hat….but its made of Beaver….

Its been a few years since I last ate any Beaver….

    LOL

  2. I always judge the post and not the poster and so I must say, very surprisingly, that I endorse every word of James Forrest’s latest article on the pyro menace.

As JF says there will eventually be a draconian response to those few who insist on inflecting their selfish stupidity on everyone else.

I want them to stop, but if they don’t, I want them hammered.

That was an interesting piece. One would have expected the MSSM to have jumped on that story .

  6. Looking at the shocking amount of empty seats ,worst I have seen. all over the stadium yesterday.I can see where SS is coming from.

  7. lets all do the huddle on

it always happens at this time of the year.

and especially after a big midweek euro game.

you can tell by the front west main stand – i think hundreds of those season tickets are from ireland.

they cant make it every game!

i just dont get this obsession with empty seats etc, unless its about celtic doing some sort of ticket exchange thing, which should happen anyway

  8. lets all do the huddle on

anyone who wanted a ticket yesterday would have got one outside the ground so not sure what the issue is

  9. Superbru Round 14 Update

The only surprise result in this round was Hibs not only, not Hibsing it, but actually winning well. So we had a good number of punters collecting points but some of our regular disappointments managed to keep their numbers low and one found a novel way to lose what should have been a safe point in backing Celtic for the win.

    Our top performers were:-

    celtic mac- 11.5 pts

A thing of beauty- 10.5 pts

    Slick 71 – 9 pts

While down amongst the Embra teams fighting relegation we have :-

66th= Jonny the Tim & Raplochbus- 1.5 pts

    68th= Spootiemad & Ayrshire Tim- 1 pt

    70th- Fess 19- 0 (zero) points

Now how do you achieve zero points? Well….. it is perhaps understandable to predict that Sevco are in poor form and won’t win, Hibs never win, and United v St. Mirren, Dundee v Well and Hearts v Dons could have been home, draw or away results. But, how do you not earn points on the Celtic v Ross Co. no-brainer? Well, giving Fess 19, the benefit of the, what must be a massive doubt, I suspect he intended to predict a 4:1 win for the Tic but his finger were imprecise, and I don’t wan’t to speculate as to why this was, but what he actually put in was a forecast of Celtic 4 Ross County 11.

There are just too many ways to be wrong but always check your answers as every teacher told you after you got something wrong that should have been easy to get right.

That leaves the overall tight leaderboard as:-

    Hopeful Hoops- 91 pts

    Gaz- 90.5 pts

    celtic Mac- 90 pts

Will we see one of these front runners break 100 pts next week when our Denizens of the Deep are still stuck in the 50s?

Which brings us to our current wooden spoon fetishists:-

68th BelmontBrian63- 56 pts (Has all that drumming in the house affected your ESP?)

69th- An Tearmann- 54.5 pts (Yir predictions are phoning Mountain Rescue now)

70th- Fess 19 (either you had a really bad week or you’re too enthusiastic for that wooden spoon)

The good news for Fess 19 is that Superbru Round 15 has only 3 fixtures and there’s a good chance that others could earn Zero points to take the bad look offa you. If Aberdeen get a surprise home win, or someone else has a Repetitive Strain Injury, or is possessed by the Devil, or Takes the Soup and converts to Sevcoism, there may be others with Zero points.

The deadline for these apocalyptic events is Wednesday 4th December – 2 kick offs at 7.45 pm and our game in Furry Boots City at 8 pm.

Good luck to all of you! Which one of you will manage to make Fess feel better. I’m looking at you BelmontBrian😀

  10. You know I’m now over 60 years of age and never quite knew why we actually called the Huns … I always thought it was a sort of euphemism to being German ….. seems there are a few reasons for it ?

anyone who wanted a ticket yesterday would have got one outside the ground so not sure what the issue is….

    =====================

Well, there are Celtic supporters who don’t live near Glasgow. They need certainty before leaving home and travelling to Celtic Park in the hope of getting a tickets – or tickets if they are bringing the kids.

I live in Canada. If their was a ticket ‘exchange’ where I could source guaranteed tickets, I’d be happy to head over a couple of times per year. So, providing certainty is important to non season ticket holders.

There would also be benefits for Celtic PLC in that they could receive 50% on the tickets they had already sold.

There is also the same benefit to season ticket holders who can’t make some games.

There is the benefit to all, to have the stadium full(er) and creating the atmosphere that comes with that.

The only ‘downside’ is that Celtic PLC may be afraid that some ST holders may not renew if sourcing match by match tickets is made easier. Hardly likely, in that there is a big waiting list….and a great many wouldn’t give up their ST as it is the only guarantee of attending the Glasgow Derby.

It is difficult to understand why there is so much pushback by people on here to something that will have no negative impact upon them.

    Just my 2 cents….

    Weeron.

  13. .Was just mentioning the shocking amount of empty seats. Most I have seen.

If everyone is fine with that,OK,but If we can’t get ST holders to turn up and watch this entertainment, when can we?.What would be the point in spending a fortune on increasing the capacity?.

i have said exactly the same thing before – what is the point in increasing the capacity to 70k for example if only 50k turn up for many of the games. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    im with you on that.

  15. When I mentioned it was far easier to travel to Celtic Park to my pal yesterday (presuming there were many not attending) he immediately said that it was close to Christmas and many would be shopping (whether they wanted to or not-my addition).

It’s the same every year. Next Saturday will be the same, no doubt.

    it will be.

I think an increase in capacity might see season ticket sales go down.

If tickets for the “big games” become easier to get by public sale, there is less incentive to have a season ticket as people can then pick and choose their games.

Might even lead to a fall in average attendances but bigger gates at champions league and “the derby game”.

  19. The returnof weeron on

    Folks…

I think there are 2 steps to this:

    1. Open a Ticket ‘Exchange’.

If that deals with the demand for match day tickets by Non-ST holders, then fine….

    2. If there remains an unsatisfied (significant) number of non ST holders, then get on with expansion.

    3. Even if #1 wins, we will still need to replace the Main Stand. If we do that, they could:

    3 (a) Add 2 or 3 thousand seats;

    AND….

3 (b) Rebuild the South Stand with a 2nd tier in mind.

    G’night,

    Weeron.

SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2024-25

RESULTS FROM GAME #21 CELTIC 5 ROSS COUNTY 0 (SCALES, McCOWAN, BERNARDO, McGREGOR, IDAH)

    Good evening, friends.

Another emphatic win from The Champions as we continue on our quest for a second domestic invincible season! Too early?

Brendan made changes to the starting 11 as expected. But when half a dozen different starts appear, they need to make an impact. 4 of them scoring in the first half relieved any worries!

Scales was first to impress, bulleting a header home in the 10th minute and playing a beautiful weighted assist through for Luke to double our lead on 27. Bernardo’s persistence paid off with our 3rd goal and a minute later McGregor hit a screamer to make it 4. CalMac’s ‘goal of the match’ lasted all of 4 minutes when twinkle toes Idah escaped some close attention on the edge of the box before curling a cracker into the corner of the net.

5 nil at half time had us all debating what the final score might be. But we’ve seen this story before and a guy next to my son in the standing section stuck a tenner on us to finish the game as 5-0 winners, at odds of 9/1!

The second half turned out to be a very professional performance and although we hit the woodwork 4 times we failed to add to our half time lead ran out 5-0 winners.

We have now played 21 games this season, winning 17, drawing 3 and losing 1. We have scored 64 – now averaging more than 3 per game! – and conceded 17 (domestically it’s 54-7 and in Europe it’s 10-10).

You know I’m now over 60 years of age and never quite knew why we actually called the Huns … I always thought it was a sort of euphemism to being German ….. seems there are a few reasons for it ?

It is an ancient Ulster slur, mostly coming in the late 1700s and early 1800s

    Put 2 things together,

-those pro unionist protestants at the time needed to be led,to have a monarch to drool sychophantically about(no changethere),to look up to(whilst on their knees)

-ireland since the Boyne had been subjected to rash discrimination,Presbyterian element too culminating in Wolfetones rising in 1798.

This was followed by act of union 1801,the slur became pointed as Daniel o Connells mass movement gave rise to Catholic emancipation act 1829.Around this time Victoria’s was the bum to kiss(house of Hannover) hence due to the germanic routes the term was used.- Hun

Hannover changed to SaxeCoburgGotha and thought wise to be called Windsor during ww1 as many millions perished in the war against Germany(the monarchs of both inbred families were related)

The same traits fawning and needing a bum to kiss is still prominent in protestant communities ravished by poverty and as has been seen as recently shown by Boris to be a handy little chatel for the union.
