Anzac Day is all about poor working class guys from Australia being massacred for King and country in the First World War at the behest of the English ruling classes in oz

re-posting this from yesterday
It isn’t merely ironic that the performance yesterday occurred on the same day as the London marathon.
The vast majority of the people running work two jobs, one that pays the bills and the other that occupies pretty well all of their thoughts.
You can pretty well guarantee that the vast majority of those who finished the Marathon today have far more enthusiasm for fitness, getting fitter and improving despite it not being their day job than those on the books at Celtic.
These folk are doing it for nothing and yet supposed professionals can’t be bothered to put in a decent shift for paying fans.
Not a good situation, Ronny-speak-bullshit-a-minute came on the authority he could and would change it. Nothing he did in practice suggests he moved the club forward 1% in that direction and most variables would say the progress was a zero sum gain, at best.

the board are simply not delivering to their own stated objectives. Only a few years ago, we were on the right road. At the end of 2012, we had a bank debt of £3m and had returned a net loss of over £7m (pre tax)
Yet, at the end of that season we sold no one, but bought Fraser Forster.
Fast Forward a year and we are in group stages of CL, top of SPL with an unbeaten record, and have set a new record for clean sheets.
The bank balance was now positive £5.7m.
Bankier stated (on the back of those results) :
“The strategy of the Board is unchanged; our overwhelming priority is to win the SPFL Premiership and to qualify for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and beyond”
That same season ended and we sold £20m of players and invested £5m
The following year, we sold £10m and invested £4m
Last year £13.5m sold and £3m invested.
Why did they deviate?
The clue is in the final part of Bankier’s statement:
“we seek to give our manager the best tools for the job, within the constraints of our economic environment; we aim to create value by investing in our youth academy and by acquiring players that we can develop; and in terms of the finances we seek to live within our means. All of this helps us prepare for the future and the economic uncertainties, which have had such a devastating effect on many other football clubs”
Some think it was the correct strategy, some disagree. The current strategy is not delivering, unless zero bank debt is the aim. If it is, in another 2 seasons, we won’t have achieved that either.
Time to retrieve it though Mac, time yet with the right moves.

I think the more pertinent question you should have asked TBM should have been ‘why do you feel that way?’ rather than asking why he felt the need to share his feelings.
You’re a smart guy. You well know that a blog can only exist because people share their views and feelings.
As for your view that replacing RD will solve most or all of our problems I couldn’t agree less. There’s a deep malaise throughout so many aspects of our performance as a team, a club and a Plc.
This is a crossroads of huge importance.

Hi,
Was at game yesterday. Strange game and atmosphere.
My take was Brown and Bitton were the ones that the fans had decided didn’t try enough last week.
Ross County are no mugs so it was never going to be easy but once again it was our midfield that didn’t work.
Thought Rogic and Richards were unlucky to be subbed. They both done more than Brown and Bitton. Richards hold up play/ball retention was good. Should’ve buried his chance though.
Rogic was the guy if anything positive was going to happen it was from him but he was subbed to a round of boos aimed at the management .
Wee Paddy is quality but he keeps cutting inside/not releasing it early enough to a teammate and it’s frustrating. Think he feels it’s all on him to do something and there’s a problem on its own. Delia, Brown or any older teammate should be giving him advice but no not a word.
Then we have the Commons thing. One of my favs. Yes he has been a brilliant match winner in the past. Yes he’s maybe been frozen out by Delia but maybe with good reason. His attitude this season whether he’s been picked or not has been poor. His last appearance against Killie I think showed it. I thought he’d downed tools that game yet he got cheered on yesterday.
I don’t like it if it seems a player could be not trying for the manager even if he’s one of my favs.
The management, team and fans just need a final push over the line.
One wonders how many anti-Kafflik “societies” there are in Glasgow now. Hazarding a wee guess, I imagine there are a lot more than 45. One regularly gets 45,000 howling their hatred and are lauded for it by politicians and police.

Never invested it
That year PL received a long service bonus and his full normal bonus

Don’t invest. Keep money incase of failure to CL and produce it AGM and 100% bonus
Why risk all the cash and fail and lose bonus. When garranteed bonus by gambling for Cl with no investment then failing and sell and get bonus
Since 2012 he had received Max bonus of approx 400k while Cl has been failure
