I repeat – the Green Brigade achieved more in a matter of minutes yesterday than a years worth of CQN posts from NegAnon, yourself, TGM and his ineffective scatter gun posting style, Ernie etc etc

Like many in here it’s all negativity, not one positive thing do you post about CFC, not one, there are things that need sorted of course there are, but ffs, try and enjoy yourself for one day, your always in a bad dark place with agendas, sack him, stop this, don’t go to the gams, take your support away, hit them where it hurts, on and on and on and on, take a day off ffs mate.
Deila cut a barely credible figure post match as he urged fans, players and management team to stick together… Meanwhile he is planning his departure. As I say barely credible.
Someone posted yesterday it will be a strange celebration st the end of the season. Paul67 has urged us to delay the post mortem until the season’s end.
Meanwhile fans are being expected to believe Moyes and Keane are being lined up.
Best I can possibly see will be Stevie Clark with a ‘face’ as his no 2

You say Peter Lawwell is doing a “grand job.”
Can you please give me specific examples of achievements/ things he is doing that back up this assertion that he is doing a grand job. Even better if you have any examples that justify a £1 million per year remuneration package for a CEO of a business turning over £40 to 50 million a year.
I’m thinking there will be lots of specific examples you’ll have where Mr Lawwell has specifically inspired or delivered –
– rising turnover
– rising attendances and matchday revenues
– improved TV deals
– sustained and progressive improvements in the first team and youth system
– better governance and transparency in how the game is governed in Scotland
– better engagement and improved supporter/ club relations
These are all things within mr Lawwell’s control and sphere of influence as Celtic CEO and as a member of the SFA professional game board, so you’ll have lots of examples of how “big Peter” is doing a grand job, right?
I’m all ears.

The scenario you paint is not unrealistic. A good manager, serious investment, and I believe we can be a force again.
The question is: will the board (ie, Dermot Desmond) sanction a deviation from the strategy of the last 4 years?
Problem is that downsizing has been taking place for thirteen years.

I’m under no illusion that my non attendance will effect change at Celtic.
But I won’t contribute to a Club that is prepared to go along with the same Club narrative.
It’s not the Celtic I supported. If it ever was I would never have been a supporter.

Explain how TV deals are within PLs control? I’m interested because I thought they were collectively bargained by the SPFL.
Yesterday, I went along looking for a reaction to last Sunday and got served up a drab, lethargic draw. In the midfield, we are second to every ball and there is a real lack of purpose and drive to our play. A performance typical of this season.
I am not going to be disingenuous to Aberdeen, they operate at a fraction of our budget and for ¾ of season kept the pressure on, however, I am relieved they fallen away at this crucial point in the season. We should comfortably limp our way to 5 in a row. I for one, I am not going to be celebrating the league win with any gusto. It doesn’t feel like we are worthy champions, more like we are collecting it by default. Apart from being one nil down to Hearts, we haven’t shown any metal this season and been found wanting in most big games. Don’t get me wrong, I will be glad when its delivered, simply from the point of view of getting our ducks in a row for next season. I have essentially written this season off. This may seem overly negative to some but my positivity is in looking forward. I really feel this will be a turning point for us.
The tribute act fans are all in fine voice and full of confidence, however, under the bonnet, they are a still basket case of a club. Our club may feel rudderless and shambolic right now, the one saving grace is we are in a very recoverable position. Get our house in order quick and we will easily see off any challenge from the bile. Dare I say, here we go to 10 in a row…..

For any boycott to work, it needs to be visible. Empty seats yesterday will still be attributed to other factors.
You bhoys like to justify doing nothing by telling us that you don’t give money to the PLC.
How about instead of telling us what you don’t do, tell us about what you do actually do?
I’ll save you the hassle…NOTHING.
Real change won’t be influenced by those who stay away and sit quietly at home hoping for things to get better,

In 1994,the board didn’t have the reserves of cash to outlast a boycott.
This lot do,there is plenty of room for cost cutting to reduce expenditure to cope with it.
This time,a boycott will hurt the club,and damage its future,before it can do the same to the board.

Agreed. If he’s minded too The Great Desmondo could survive any length of economic siege the fans could subject him too.
What he probably wouldn’t be prepared to put up with is public embarrassment either from association with a desperately failing Club, or from fans dogging his steps demanding change on his public appearances at the golf course or race track.

Small squad Keep costs low
Backbone of team highly experienced and paid pros
Backed up with 3 or 4 youths
It’s something that paul67 and I agreed on about 7 years ago
But Peter Lawell would not pay the going rate for experienced pros
Instead we got a huge squad and players sitting in stands earning large salaries and money down drain looking for projects as the team suffered

Doing nothing should not be an option.
I hear this line occasionally – that Celtic are not the club they grew up supporting. Its the old nostalgia – things are not as good as they used to be.
Yet things have rarely been perfect off field at Celtic, Ernie.
Withdrawing support,and doing nothing about it, when the club is clearly important to you is an ineffective tactic. And that was my whole point – the Green Brigade got a staement across yesterday that some posters on here have been trying to for 1 year or more.
Given the above, a re-evaluation of tactics may be in order.
Action, any action, would be a start.

Seriously,I’m as p’d off as anyone at their displays for most of this season. All of them need to ask themselves whether they are proud of themselves this year,few can honestly answer yes.
The others should be told to get a hold of their agent and find a new club.
We have had poor management on and off the field,but the players should still have been good enough to provide much better performances than they have.
