    Only saw some of the game , mainly first half , but I think we’ve won a watch with Boli. A few of our other players gave the ball away several times but weren’t punished for it .Boli had one misplaced pass which led to a goal . Cut him some slack.

    Just back from the game.

     

     

    We were very comfortable for an hour after that 2nd minute scare. We zipped the ball about them and put them under our thumb.

     

     

    Unfortunately, we forgot to keep the scoreboard ticking over as we were more concerned about bossing them than beating them.

     

     

    Then, out of the blue, a well worked move and we’re level. The crowd got tetchy and aggressive towards our own players and they gained 5 minutes of confidence before Callum put them back in their box.

     

     

    3:1 and 2:1 are decent scores against a team that are as good as Killiie and would give the Dons a tight run.

     

     

    But it could be better yet.

     

     

    Everyone played well- no scapegoats- but McGregor and Christie get joint MOTM as they picked up more dangerous pockets of space AND put the ball away. Edouard worked hard too

    I think Boli will be a great signing but his primary job as a left full is to defend. He can;t be rampaging all over the field against good opposition.

    Unsurprisingly he was one of my all time favourites. We seemed to have a “job lot” of left wingers at the time (how things have changed!) but Alfie was something special and became an immediate hit with the fans. I can still remember the chant “Oh Alfie, Alfie. Alfie, Alfie, Alfie, Alfie. Alfie Conn (quite easy to remember actually!) which used to always be sung when he played. Socks down around his ankles, flying down the wing, hair streaming behind him, (jumpers for goalposts?) skillfull and brave – how I wish we had a player like him now. Oh well bak from the land of dreams!

    just in from the game , thoughts, LM played well once he swopped with JF to play down the right wing, we took our goals well but we were very sloppy in our passing from the back and also from SB in the middle who gives far too many short hospital passes but in his defence played ok.

     

    can’t understand why subs especially julien were not given much needed game time.

     

    playing with 3 at the back imo only works if you have 2 sitting midfielders .
