  1. BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL on 18TH SEPTEMBER 2024 10:23 PM

    Great finish by Daizen.

    Even better finish by Adam.

Award for assist of the night has to go to James Forrest surely.

    —————

Spot-on with the assist. If that was De Bruyne or Messi, everyone would be raving about it.

    Amazing pass!

    😃🇮🇪🍀⚽️ 👏 👏👏

  2. Great game , great performance , great atmosphere .

A few stand outs for me …Taylor again , scales again, CALMAC ❤️🤗 and I’m happy to see AJ getting back to his sharpest ….

    Well done Celtic 👏👏🍻

Anyone know what happened at mcuills?.. Slovakia fans with the butchers apron attacking the punters?

Been happening for years, hun casuals team up with any team we are playing at CP,cause mayhem, nobody lifted, the cops know what the deal is,do do fk all

  4. Football is a simple game. You get what you pay for. Pay the wages for a top coach and you get Rodgers. Spend £11m and you get Arne Engles. What a player btw. He won’t be here long.

    #Chris Davies

  5. Fourstonecop,

Maybe playing all over the world ,promoting the Celtic brand.!!!!!!!!!.

What?,you don’t want superstars at Celtic Park?.Rod a brilliant ambassador for Celtic.Unlike you coming on to a Celtic Blog and berating him.

GTF back to FF,they hate him as well.

  6. After Slovan’s goal, with Celtic 3-1 ahead, the commentator said it was a pity they couldn’t keep a clean sheet, then went into a diatribe about how many CL games Celtic have played without a clean sheet. Kudos to Lenny for more or less telling him to behave himself.

  7. David,

Your Engels quote,” He wont be here long”

    What can you possibly say🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐

  8. OMG… As the youngsters say ..Thank You Celts for a wonderful 2 touch football victory.

What a lovely game for all to see…….

    It’s a compliment

  11. Great performance & great win,

Scales & Engels make my top 3, have to give more thought to 3rd place.

It’s hard to put it into words, I’m simply ecstatic.

Yes I know we have Dortmund & Atalanta both away games coming up and we might not pick up a point at either venue but if we win our home games we will reach knock outs.

  12. Hands up anybody…….Who would like a small Libation?

But due to circumstances …Ye Cannae……Enjoy tonights result….

    And join theclub……….No negativity allowed………

  13. Regarding Engels he came to Celtic to showcase his Talents and to get a big move to the SPFL.

We know that but that is fine, 2 years & move on for 50 Million rinse & repeat.

However right now he is our player for this Season so just enjoy having him, it’s a joy being a Tim at any time but right now it’s pure magic.

  14. Well done the BBC, Big Joe doing the analysis, and wee look back to when Neil Lennon’s Celtic team beat Barcelona back on our 125th Anniversary. Marvellous.

Incidentally tonights game was not the first time Celtic have been on MOTD, anybody know when the first time was? Clue, there is a connection with tonight’s match……

  15. A great 3 points tonight but let’s see how other teams fare against them?

    But its a coʻnfidence ɓooster.

This site agggggh trying to post is a disgrace.

And your keepin up with the wee mans football..My wee grandson was at the match tonite..

He plays most weekends..I swear to god he couldnae kick doors..But…..

Couple weeks ago he scored a hat trick against Vale of Leven….

    Then 5 goals against Dumbarton…….last Sat….He cant beat a man ..

But he can beat a keeper lol….

  18. Majestic Hartson on

Did anyone catch what Rodgers said about telling the players to take 3 touches rather than 2? In what respect? It sounds counterintuitive to fast flowing football.

  19. @Majestic…I’m sure he said the opposite mate??

I think Iv’e recorded it ..Will check tomorrow

    Well done that Mhan

But you forgot to give our Manager credit

    Dr Joe Venglos

    God Rest His Soul

  21. I would like Nawrockie given a start against Falkirk on Sunday what I have seen of him he is quicker co.ing out of defence ,also the young Spanish left back gets a run out to

  22. I think that one of the reasons we’re so positive about the CL this season IS the format but also the fact that this is the 1st CL campaign when we KNOW, as players, fans, managers, coaches etc that we now have everything buttoned up in Scotland so we can have a real go in Europe.

Brilliant time in our Celtic lives.

  23. Drambowie – Good to hear about the wee fella, just tell him to enjoy the wonderfull world of football.

my grandson goes to every home game and tonight he was quite emotional when the cl tune was on he was going mental then rubbing his eyes. I asked him were you emotional there he said yes “just that tune and our club playing in this new format got to me”

I wish i could post his video.

he is now at Braidhurst SFA school playing in Lanarkshire cup and Scottcottish cup with his club..

  24. CELTIC MAC

Our game against Partizan Belgrade was covered nationally by the BBC , not sure if it was MOTD though , think Barry Davies was commentating.

  25. Great game, great result. Another 2 wins should be enough and there’s no reason I can see why we can’t do that.

Hoping AJ and CCV aren’t injured as both seemed like they had issues coming off.

5 going on 10. And could have been a lot closer to it if Kyogo was on it tonight. Their big keeper did well, but we’ll likely need to be more clinical in the more difficult ties.

Thought the full back line were immense, bit of complacency for their goal but a terrific finish the keeper could do nothing about.

Going forward our pace destroyed them and they were well spent by the last 20-30 minutes.

McGregor was at his best. Hatate excellent on the half turn (his superpower) and Engels is a true box to box midfielder.

You can definitely see why Rodgers wanted him, pace and power in abundance. Lots to iron out and improve, he’s not quite shown evidence the killer pass (but his set pieces are a massive upgrade), and has lost the ball near the box a few times in the past few games which is worrying, thankfully come to nothing and potentially has something to do with game state/complacency but needs to be careful against better opposition. Penalty technique has been flawless, had quite a few shots from open goal which haven’t quite come off for him but he’s getting into the right positions in and around the box. If he can refine his shooting he’ll get good numbers. Good at pressing and counter pressing, similar to Bernardo, but with the extra yard of pace to go along with it.

Kuhn is my early POTY shout. Pace and creativity from out wide, and I reckon as his standing and confidence grows further he’ll chip in with even more.

  26. itscalledthemalvinas on

An absolute dream start to the Champions League. Beating anyone 5-1 at this level is a credit to the players and manager.

Surely no-one would have that on at the bookies ?
