  1. We were hammered 1-4, they were decimated with covid and had their third choice keeper playing. They hit the post and the bar.

If Lennon is allowed to stay on after tonight then we deserve everything that comes our way.

Anyone defending Neil Lennon is not doing us any favours right now.

No man is bigger than the club.

Neil should go and soon because beyond the performances, there’s something rancid in this squad. We simply need to act now.

  2. If anyone is throwing Rogic out with the dross, they must have let their emotions get the better of them.

Go have a look at the first goal and the world class touch from Rogic, we don’t have another player like him.

We have a back four of a raw young rookie, a pub player, a midfielder and a loan signing. We have Dundees reserve goalkeeper between the sticks.

This isn’t rock science, we wont win anything with that defence,

I’ve always thought we have much better players than Sevco but now it’s starting to look like rose-tinted spectacles. If you were a foreign observer watching our and their Europa League games and were asked how many Celtic players get into their side, what would you reply?

    Brown? Duffy? Eddie?

Maybe we do have better players….just not sure who or where they are right now.

The professionalism left our club same time as ‘the rat’

    ——-

    Was the “rat” BR ?

Maybe he wanted same as you ?

But didn’t get the money he was

    Promised

  5. I would like to officially apologise to all the members who I have criticised for calling for Neil Lennon to go over the past 3-4 weeks and beyond.

I can no longer defend him or this rotten team.

We have gone from average to poor to completely embarrasing.

10 in a row is now a long shot.

A win at Motherwell on sunday is vital but will only delay the end of this managment team.

I don’t care about last seasons trebles..I care about this seasons performances.

It seems that any team with a half decent coach and average players can now come to celtic park and make us look like schoolboys.

This team need a gigantic shock to their system.

It is now our only hope because we believe there is some talent in there.

A proper manager would have benched Duffy weeks ago..Hell it is amazing what getting dropped can do to some players.

But our manager prefers blind faith in many of them when it is clear he is a weak weak manager.

But thank god he never risked playing David Turbull tonight because he clearly would not have been good enough eh?

I feel nothing but despair and am now convinced that that was one horrific performance and result too many for Lenny

  6. P8 @ 10.26

Why would a team / squad want to do a number on their manager?

I do agree that some our play looked very sloppy with no energy and a lack of effort from over half the team for long periods tonight — so the question is why?

Wht would the team / squad invite ridicule and damnation from the fanbase by putting in a half hearted performance such as the one they gave us tonight?

I agree it was a nothing game to most / some of the squad.

But why do it so publically and in such a complete manner that questions are going to be asked?

My first thoughts tonight was to check the odds at the bookies on a SP win.

Some in theam played without any desire to win — we worked openings and then played our way out of them — strange / very strange.

So who gains from a result like tonights?

Do the squad want rid of NL due to his old school persona?

Has the squad taken the huff at the arrival of a £45K pw messiah who is anything but?

Are their people in the team who had been promised moves but they were then let down?

Let down by PL’s lack of results in the transfer window?

We seem to have a team in name only — huge issues but no real insight into the rreal story.

One thing — something has to change.

  7. Ray Winstone's Big Disembodied Heid on

FAIRHILL. Aye. Here’s hoping the phantom golfer has had enough as well as the rest of us real Celtic supporters, as opposed to the Lenny fanbhoys.

The feeling i and most others had in the pub near Hampden after the treble treble and news came in that Lennon had the job was something i can only describe as when the love of my life chucked me at 19

    Hate being right about this

  9. onenightinlisbon on

I recall someone posting on here that negative comments on here affect the players….wonder if they really know what results and performances like this do to us as supporters?

Imagine having the honour to pull on those hoops? You would give 110% every time you walked on to that pitch.

Guys sitting in the stand when we are getting pumped at home by a reserve team looking at their phone sum the ethos we seem to have at Celtic park.

Imagine Bertie or Jimmy not giving a **** about us losing?

I’m sick to my stomach this season, the most important season in our history when we can do the ten. How much does that mean to these guys?

I would like to officially apologise to all the members who I have criticised for calling for Neil Lennon to go over the past 3-4 weeks and beyond.

No need to apologise pal, we all want the best for Celtic and we are all entitled to our opinion on how that can be achieved.

  11. To anyone who wants Lennon to stay ask yourself this.

If you asked a Hun if they wanted Lennon to stay on, what would THEY say?

The fact you could never agree with a Hun should give you your answer.

  12. Regarding all the comments about SD — remember he was the future once.

The time when SMcK was getting dogs abuse for being a SPL hoofer and not worthy of a jersey.

    Funny how times have changed.

  13. Lennons downfall??? Trying to convince players who didn’t want to be here to stay to realize HIS dream. BIG BIG MISTAKE.

The are not motivated (obvious) BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, their attitude festers in the dressing room and affects morale.

reaping what was sowed at start of season.

compare that to “if you don’t want to be here – GTF and good luck”

  15. P8DDY @10.26

Very well considered post. I admit to a knee jerk (which is smashing for my age), but I agree, deep breath and careful thoughts required.

Nothing significant can happen before we play on Sunday (unless Dermoptera and Peter have more vision than I ever believed they had). So we either get a result, which keeps ten in the frame, or we lose and all bets are off.

Either way the longer term is now in play and a few of our heroes won’t be there, best if they are remembered with honour.

Rock science? My mate was a lawyer and moved into archaeology; his career is in ruins now

  17. My dad would have blamed everyone but Lenny for that 😉

Thank you everyone for the kind words.

    It means so much 💚

  18. Desmond Dermott will not take this lying down. Nobody embarrasses his business like this and gets away with it.

  19. Said the other week, this isn’t the worst squad I’ve seen at CP,a better coach could get far more out of them

  20. LAZYDYNAMITE

Always respect your opinion fella – no-one wants to be here

    I am absolutely seek tonight.

  21. The joys of supporting Celtic. Massive highs and unbievable lows.

On thus mildly interesting thought I will take my leave: it is entirely possible that Stevie Slippy G will ‘enjoy’ being the ‘achievement’ of outlasting two different Celtic managers while winning absolutely f… all. My money is being on that scenario playing out.

Itll sit nicely in his cabinet beside the 86 minute trophy etc

  22. GEEBEE1978 on 5TH NOVEMBER 2020 10:36 PM

I agree. Brednan was an idealogue. He had his way of playing and he stuck to it in Europe, much to our detriment. A bit of pragmatism (and self reflection) and we might not have seen such humping against PSG.

Still, I would take BR’s European record over Neil’s any day (although I’m sure I’ll be reminded of Neil reaching the last 16 of the CL shortly).

The truth is, we had top manager who challenged our CEO and that didn’t sit well with the top brass. We were delighted to punt him for a British record fee.

Take the money, appoint a cheap manager (no compensation to pay) who had zero leverage and would never challenge PL and hope that things would continue as they were.

    Fantastic strategy.

  23. HENRY JOY on 5TH NOVEMBER 2020 10:47 PM

According to an article from Phil, Lennon was on a “yellow card”.

Now, while I took it with a pinch of salt, if there’s one iota of truth to that article, he’ll be gone before the match with Motherwell.

  24. Not for the first time this season Lennon has made a stupid response to a leading question.

Instead of ignoring the or evading the question he made a definitive statement, ” He better not have been.”

Now, when it’s proved Elyounoussi was checking his phone, what does he do?

He is now under pressure to back up the “He better not have been.”

    Stupid again by Lennon.

    Unbelievable!

  25. I agree with Sutton, attitude is the problem, our mentality as a team is chronic. They thought they’d just have to turn up tonight and a weakened Sparta would roll over, shocking.

  26. P8DDY – a knee – jerk reaction, heat of the moment . . . Come on, this has been a slow-motion car crash since August. Some people have kept faith with Neil up until tonight. But enough is enough.

  27. Well I’m on to eat humble pie and apologise. I’ve slated lots of posters on here the last few weeks and probably been guilty of blind loyalty to Neil Lennon.

That standard cannot be acceptable at Celtic, ever….yet unfortunately it’s the norm in Europe now. Obviously I’ve arrived at this conclusion much later than many others, primarily because we still look dangerous going forward, but that team is horrendously lacking in balance and organisation.

Time for a change if we are to turn it around. I know others may say the damage has been done but for me NL deserved the benefit of the doubt. However we are now being embarrassed so I’m afraid that has gone for me. Sad.

  28. Geebee- cheers, could we not have put it somewhere else.

Not the most important thing but a very poignant message nonetheless.

  29. ROBERTRESSELL

Perceptive observation. Tonight was the first time ever for me to ask Neil to go. Better if he resigns with dignity than be handed the pink slip. But I really wish he could take Peter Lawwell with him.

I watched Sevco earlier. Despite 2 late slips, they are far better organized, and look far fitter than us. We have never managed a draw away to Benfica, and they basically threw away a comfortable win. If we don’t get our house in order tout de suite, they will win the league, with only 2 qualifying rounds to get to the CL Group Stage and £30M. In the meantime, we will probably be without Laxalt, Duffy and Elyounoussi, and very possibly without Ntcham, Brown, Christie, Ajer and Eddie.

Assuming an efficacious Covid vaccine, crowds will still plummet and we will be right behind the eight ball. Desmond has to take action NOW.

  30. Well that was a shocker, taken to the cleaners by a better ‘football’ side and a very fit outfit. Why things have gone wrong I haven’t a clue,Sparta could have taken 5 or 6 off us,to be honest. We have domestic silverware to capture, and further involvement in Europe is over.Roll on Sunday, surely to God we cannot play so bad like we did tonight.
