Mega thanks for the updates guys.
Seems that wanton ballbaggery was at play, but another win, another three points and the journey continues.
The records we seek this season are still special and I am sure this is what is driving BR and his captain on.
Remember that when we set previous records the rest of Scottish football were taken by surprise. Now, they are ready and determined to be the one team who spoil our party.

I get that feeling that history awaits us in Brendan Rodgers!
I actually enjoyed that. I thought there were periods of slick play and some brave, ambitious moves amongst the usual sideways possession samba.
Ever player had periods where they shone with the exception of Dembele. Unfortunately Griff never had the chance to do much when he came on.
But, Boyata and Gamboa are now part of the squad- Welcome Aboard!
And finally, well done Captain 400. There was a time when I thought your passing meant you would never master central midfield but you have learned how to mould your game so that losing possession is not at all a regular occurrence now. And your energy and drive and leadership more than compensate for the few remaining weaknesses. apart from a wee spell in the blue of Cowdenbeath, you have grown accustomed to the green. You wear it well.

Thought, ref aside, it was a real competitive mans game tonight and we weren’t found wanting, big boyata might just be the real deal.
Well done Celts and Broonie.

Well done, Hoops. Thanks for updates here. Must have got a chill on Sunday at Xcelsior v Rovers, so had o rely on CQN tonight, no streams either. Wonder why Paddy didn’t start, after his blistering show on Sunday.

My friend, Dennis is at home now and on the road to recovery.

Clear run home for Eurochamps67, due to a less than full stadium, which saw us peremptory in a very parky Parkers ,despite a St Johnstone who are arguably the best organised side we’ve faced in the league this season.
Stuart Armstrong was immense as was Scott Brown, quiet night for Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair though both never stopped trying. James Forrest can beat his man alright, but Paddy Roberts also beats the doubled banked defending, and was unlucky not to score but for hitting the ball too hard.
St Johnstone tested the Celtic back line when they could get out of their own half , but its good to see Dedryk Boyata get joy as the latest import to the improved player under Brendan category , and it’ll be interesting to see if he can retain his place or even alternate whilst we’re so far ahead of the rest.

Well go on the big Dedryck !
There’s a lesson for a lot of opinionated fans in that man’s performance tonight.
Amazing what some support can bring, eh ?
Luckily, we have a man-manager who can instil that confidence in a player.
That should be our job too.
I get where the criticism of Dallas is coming from. His promotion beyond both his age and abilities are clear and testimony to how refereeing is managed in at least some of the Refereeing associations.
You can see the guy struggles to manage players and the game.
Tonight, if he’d wanted to disadvantage Celtic it was there for him………..well we all seen their penalty ?

I only saw the second half and on a dodgy stream.
That was possibly the toughest opponent that we’ve faced this season. He’s definitely going to give his father a run for his money although he’ll have to wait till next season to try and equal managing to deliver the title to Sevco in Paradise.

No big deal tonight..that team only equalled the record
Sunday is when they can break the record …..and guess what….this old West Brit will be there …..
Tommy Wright had a wee claim as Scott Brown did push McLean at the corner. Any chance of an award was scuppered by the theatrical collapse of McLean himself.
Broonie’s push was certainly nowhere near as blatant as the blocking and pushing of Craig Gordon at their corners, or the forearm smash Scott received when he headered off the line,

The issue with Dallas jnr is not that he’s a ref, ignore our natural bias against him and his dad but look at the facts.
Here is referee that has been promoted well above his pay grade, ahead of more experienced and capable colleagues, and no one in the game (SFA,SPL etc) questions it.
There’s 10s of refs who came through the ranks with Dallas that have the same story to tell about him yet you won’t hear it.

Just back, enjoyable game. St Johnstone had a go but some of their tackling was industrial. Poor finishing keptvtue score down, we could easily have scored 5 or 6 with a bit more composure in front of goals. Boyata played well but you know, like Efe, the mistake isn’t far away. The back four, Forrest, and Brown all played well. Armstrong MOTM.

Tough game tonight. Thought we played well in fits and starts, but seemed to lack the wee bit of zip that would’ve taken us out of sight.
Thought our best player was Biton – didn’t put a foot wrong all night. Armstrong and Brown also good.
Scott Sinclair – consistently excellent. Looks dangerous against every team we play. Player of the Season so far.
Time for Paddy to start instead of Forrest…? Hmmm.
Dembele looked out of sorts. Some groans and criticism from the stands directed to him I noticed. 20 goals for a young striker in his first half season with us – some people just lack any sense of perspective.
St Johnstone – well organised, aggressive, and clever I thought. Gave us much more to think about than Sevco.
Finally – I heard on the radio Tommy Wright moaning about a “stonewaller” they didn’t get… no doubt this will lead the rags tomorrow.

Penalty my arse.

Paddy is being used as a sub for a reason. When he’s started games this season he has generally been poor, he’s been far more effective coming on for last half hour. I’d stick with Forrest for the weekend and for as long as his form and fitness continue.
fan-a-tic on
We played some pretty but ineffective football tonight.
The return of Bitton has reduced our chances of scoring from the central areas.
We have now reverted to a Ronnie style of tip tapping across the field followed by numerous blocked crosses.
The time it takes to get in the danger zone has allowed teams to pack their central defense and the amount of blocked shots in the last two games is testament to this..
Neither Dembele nor Griff had a clear shot tonight as they always had two or three guys around them.
Bitton has not done anything wrong in last two games but his inclusion has tempered our potency.
He would be better suited in a league with a slower less physical style.
Hoping our new guy can can bring more dynamism in the central area.
