Paddy is being used as a sub for a reason. When he’s started games this season he has generally been poor, he’s been far more effective coming on for last half hour. I’d stick with Forrest for the weekend and for as long as his form and fitness continue.

    —————–

Paddy is sub because he won’t be here next season and BR knows that, no need to upset Forrest when he;s our player.

Paddy will go back to City, either play 1-2 game next season of be loaned to an EPL/CPL team

  2. it may not be a question of paying Paddy and Man City what he wants.

From all the noises made so far, Paddy knows he is a good player and believes he is good enough to challenge for a place at Man City.

As a good player with a justified good conceit of himself, it seems he does not want to die wondering if he could have made it there.

The best we can hope for is that Pep (or his successor) makes some discouraging noises about him not being needed (unlikely) or (more likely) he is offered another loan spell with a named other club that cannot offer CL experiences, and he may be persuaded to stay where he is wanted and needed.

While he is still set on returning to try his luck at Man City, I can well understand why Brendan chooses James Forrest, who is also in a rich vein of form and played well tonight.

  3. @Richie….Gary67 cheers……

Reason I asked my neighbour said poor crowd tonight……

Now even allowing for the 10 thousand diff in both your estimates…….

It’s still a healthy turnout for a bitter midweek Jan gemme…..

I’m now gonnae call him Jim Royale…..Poor crowd my arse,,,

  4. Ritchie,

Don’t go with the glimpses on CTV re. the crowd. It was a healthy, upper 40,000 at least, ‘healthy’ especially given it’s a January mid-week. I did notice the two big blocks in the corner of the Lisbon Lions upper were empty, but the rest of the ground was healthily populated.

And next Wednesday it will be even more busy!

  5. Evening all

Just back from game. Bit disjointed at times but a lot of chances created and near misses all same. Was not aware of any obvious penalty for St Johnstone though I do remember big Jozo’s jersey almost being pulled over his head in the first half two yards from the ref and no penalty being given. Ref did award a lot of free kicks to us for fouls but was very lenient when it came to dishing out cards.

Dedryk B , Jozo, Broony and Stuart A were all very good with Sinky and Moussa D being unusually ineffectual. A narrow but totally deserved win over decent opposition and a game that was better than the narrow wins last month.

The question ‘what’s not to like’ is a touch overused but at the moment it seems appropriate.

    What’s up with Rogic?

    ===========================

    Ankle injury.

Thanks to former Tim , Darren O` Dea.

  8. First off, excellent result. Coulda been more.

Richie- BBC stats are more complicated to work out than pro stat compilers.

Pro-stat compilers have 2 stopwatches, they start the 1st when one team gains possession, then stops when that team loses possession. They then start 2nd stopwatch for other team until they too lose possession and the cycle continues to full time.

BBC hun monkeys only have one stopwatch which they use to calculate how long it takes them to hear offensive chanting or denied penalty for Celtic opposition.

This means they have to guesstimate the actual possession percentage and it errs on the side of the opposition using the Smith-Advocaat algorithm.

ps thought Bhoyata had a good game.

    Emeraldbee,

I’m on a course so couldn’t make the game but I guess the areas you are talking about are 119/120, that’s tickets sales and a lot of folk will not be paid until next Tuesday. A daft time to play a game.

Always hard to judge on CTV unless we get crowd shots of huddle etc. And never get south perspective. Tommy Boyd did say it was a healthy crowd,

    =============================================

    G`day , mate.

    Greetings from godzone.

  17. Back home from a game that I enjoyed watching with mega congratulations due to manager ,coaching staff , and players especially Broonie achieving 400 appearances for the hoops . St Johnstone are certainly one of the most organised outfits to play against us in this league which reflects an experienced opponent that many of their first eleven have over 100 appearances at this level.

Boyata capped a solid game with cracking header , Brendan might be working his magic again with a player generally placed in the ” not good enough” category . Another previously in the same category was my man of the match. Stuart Armstrong.

    The boy is oozing confidence.

Final word on young Dallas .

Fast tracked through the referee ranks by ability or his surname ?

Looking forward to Sunday already. HH

  18. It’s been wht 6 weeks since we played Dundee, Rogic was on course to be our player of the year (IMO) that’s some ankle injury.

Hope the big guy is back soon

  19. Ha Ha so far the “Crowd” has went fae 25 tae 50…. Mr Kelly alive and kickin..

Punt me over e turnstyles mister….lol…

50 year fae noo when space age CQNers look back…….

A Hunner thousand cheered on e tic in the Northshire Jungle to equal an historic record…

One Kevin Jay rememinisced…Big Mark dun it…..

Anyhoo a great turnout that many a club would envy……
