Team today should be full of players keen to impress BR that they deserve game time on Thursday

TOM Rogic will make his long-awaited comeback from injury in today’s home league match with St Johnstone after being named in Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI. The Australian internationalist last featured for Celtic in the UEFA Champions League game against Anderlecht on December 5.
And his welcome return to the side is one of seven changes to the team that dispatched Zenit St Petersburg so impressively in Thursday night’s UEFA Europa League last 32 encounter.
Cristian Gamboa, Jack Hendry, Calvin Miller, Charly Musonda, Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair are the other players to come in for the champions.
Out go Mikael Lustig, Jozo Simunovic, Kieran Tierney, James Forrest, Olivier Ntcham, Moussa Dembele and the suspended Scott Brown.
Callum McGregor, who scored a stunning winning goal against Zenit in his 150th appearance for the club, will captain the Hoops in Brown’s absence to cap off a memorable week for the Celtic Youth Academy graduate.
Kick-off in Paradise is 3pm, and head to @celticfc for all the pre-game build-up and live match updates as the Hoops aim to extend their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.
I think the result today will depend on how this unexpected Celtic team play against what will be a more agricultural Perth mob
Play football & we will win St Johnstone will be up for a scrappy spoiling game with umpteen fouls allowed

The game in Russia is soooooooo important that changes are totally understandable.

Whilst 8 changes is a lot, Brendan knows and trusts his players. Let’s fast forward 2hrs and imagine we’ve just taken saints apart, what will that tell us and others about our squad depth and development?

No Paton in their line up, he normally accounts for a about half their fouls, dirty player

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: “It’s still a very strong side. We’ve got players from the other night playing.
“We have to bear in mind the players have played a lot games up until now.
“It’s no less importance. We’ve picked a team to get a result and a performance.
“It’s a different game. We as a staff have tried to keep the players focused and make sure that there’s no stone left unturned in our preparations. We go into each game looking to win so we’d hope that’ll be the same case.
“We know it’s always tough. Tommy’s teams are always difficult to break down.”

Think Paton got his P45 in the January windae, not sure if he has a new Klub yet so probably in the away end at Hamilton game today

The ole North Curve a little sparse at the moment. Anticipating around 40,000. Didn’t think there would have been quite so many changes but plenty of quality in the 7 players coming in.

Hail Hail from Celtic Park. Ground won’t be full but looks like a decent turnout with still 10 mins to kick off.
Interesting starting 11. Wee reward for Calmac getting the captains armband. With Ajer the most experienced in recent games of the back 4 it could be tricky.
3-0 prediction. Sinclair on target. And two others ;)
Teams don’t play Sevco or the other also fans with same intensity they do against us.
It would be too paranoid of me to suggest that there do seem to be a high number of goalkeeping errors which they seem to benefit from. But the game isn’t that corrupt is it? Of course not.
Watched a bit of Ipswich v Norwich earlier. Poor stuff. When garner wand Waghorn are in the starting line up and look no worse than others it’s an indication of the unfounded hype that surrounds English football. Our game isn’t so bad.

Not too keen on so many changes,
league points are still vital, more so after the sheep result yesterday
Too many changes for my liking, but the boss knows what he is doing.
Be very Happy with any win \0/ . But plus point is it confirms our strength in depth.
Quite a few changes but I’m still very confident.
Can only assume Nthcam needs a breather.
Can see goals in this team. Sticking with 5-0. Charly on the scoresheet with multiple assists…
HH
Have they not suffered enough
Doherty assists Hamilton first goal.
Pity he doesn’t play for them anymore
WITS
Nope
Hamilton have scored?
They’ll be going daft on Rangersmedia.
Oh, hang on…
Scott Sinclair will be desperate to show the boss he should stick with him.
Sandman
Just thinking the same :))))))

Hamilton are playing a high press. Good signs from them early in the game and they deserve the goal
C’mon the Hoops.
