Who am I telling not to have an opinion?

Or mibbe my post reminded you of you.

  2. Gerryfaethebrig on

Well done Joe Chalmers scoring fir ICT am sure his dad or some family post on here, always good to see an ex-Celt doing well

  3. glendalystonsils on

Make 8 changes to any team and they will struggle, especially when some of the players in that team almost never feature in it.

Add in a team of hammer throwers and an obliging ref and the outcome is pretty obvious.

  4. There is not a manager or a set of supporters in Scotland who would not bite yer hand off to be in the position we are in.

    I’m loving it!

    C’MON THE CELTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. A couple of other times this season and last, we have made wholesale changes and blew the oppo away, it didn’t work today, combine that with a cheat with a whistle and the entitled are doing what they do, par for the course.

    Corkcelt 5.34pm

Enjoy your few days in Killarney hope it gives you plenty of energy to enjoy us reaching the last 16 after Thursday night in St Petersburg ….. hopefully we retain the treble but I think Brendan wants to go as far as possible in the EL, in the long run that’s our selling point to encourage players to don the Hoops

  7. Philbhoy – BR is without question as good a manager as we could possibly hope for, and probably better than we will have for many a year once he moves on. But there are things he does that can be questioned, just like anyone else. I would doubt any other manager who had a team playing in Europe during the week returned to the domestic scene and made 6-7 unforced changes to their team. There is no chance he would have done that while manager of Liverpool which suggests he underestimated the opposition today or overestimated the ability of the players he brought in.

As fans we are entitled to an opinion, no? I highly rate Al Pacino as an actor, but by feck he has made some shit movies. That doesn’t mean I don´t still think he is brilliant though.

  8. Another abject League performance, far, far too many this season. Too many changes from Brendan, at least a couple too many and that proved to be a mistake. The prosaic reality is that we have failed to score in two consecutive League matches and failed to score in four within a couple of months. In fact we have only found the target 54 times in 27 games, a really poor return. Not enough cheap goals are being scored from set plays etc, balls flashed across the box and nobody there, how many times does it happen, it’s so frustrating. We took too long to make the changes as well, KT should have replaced Miller after 55 minutes.

The eggs have been put in the Europa basket and time will tell if that proves correct. I stilll think we are odds against. Personally i think you tool up in the League and then rest with the ball and take off your key players. The rest of the season looks like it will be a slog. The idea was that Charly would spark us into life but he is nowhere near ready. The only hope is that Paddy can take us by the scruff of the neck and get us going. Until that goal average climbs above 2.5, expect more of the same.

    Dire.

    MotM – struggling, probably Kouassi

The reason for anger today is that we deliberately weakened the team to a huge extent and paid the penalty. Oh, and we had to endure 90 mins of Cristian Gamboa, an absolutely dreadful footballer and second worst man on the park after John Cheaton. As others have said, lose one or both at Pittodrie and Ibrox and it’ll be squeaky bum time all round with the split to come. Ronny Deila would have been getting roasted for many of our league performances this season, rightly. Brendan might think he’s untouchable, but allow the Huns to get close to us and he’ll soon find out he’s not.

Brendan, in future, make changes by all means, just don’t play the full B team, reducing our prospects of winning to 50% or worse. Complacent nonsense.

Brendan’s celtic never plays well the weekend before a big European game

    —————-

What’s the excuse for when we don’t have euro footy ;O)

  11. I thought we were poor today.not a lot of chances created..probably due to the many changes to the team. Despite that we still tried to play football.

If St.johnstone played like that every week they would get fitba’ stoapt.

I think it was e_tims today quoted Tommy Wright saying he didn’t need to motivate his team to play Celtic.i wonder why???

John Newton was a disgrace today.he was blatant in his cheating.

Poor Charly Musonda kept looking at him in astonishment after every foul as if saying why was that not given or why was that not abooking.

  12. PHILBHOY, know where you are coming from, ffs you are even older than me lol. but that was a poor performance, still luv ya hh.

  13. FAVOURITE UNCLE on

could all the EXPERTS post before the games so that all us mugs can know what’s coming.

    and i than you.ROCHDALE equalise.2s a piece.

  14. If the other teams carry on dropping points the way they are, there is no reason for them not to, none are good enough to go on a run and win all their games, we only need to win about four or five of our remaining games to win the league, they way some are squealing you would think we were level with a couple of other teams, I don’t envy your wives having to clean your wet panties.

  15. DENIABHOY

    You said of Brendan –

“There is no chance he would have done that while manager of Liverpool”

Just tell me how you know that.

  16. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

Spurs return from Europe, after a great result, make changes and fail to beat lower league Rochdale.

They even got a penalty , too.

    It’s a funny old game.

    It’s called football.

  17. To those who booed at full time, don’t bother coming back. Hun like entitlement amongst too many on our support now.

We lost two points because the manager made too many changes. The momentum we could have started to build after Thursday gone amongst 7 changes and a team that played at far too slow a pace and wanted too many touches on t(e ball.

Ajer anD Hendry combined well with Kouassi In front of them also one of our better players. Gamboa not good enough, Miller needs to go out on loan and learn how to defend. McGregor and Rogic both poor as was Sinclair.

St Johnstne’s tactic was foul Celtic player in possession when he moved into their half. There usual tactic when we play them so not a surprise.Beaton was a disgrace, no other word for it an utter disgrace.

  18. How many Celtic players shook hands with the Referee at full time?.Did Brendan shake his hand. I know I wouldn’t have shaken the scab in blacks hand.

  19. Good post David17

Failing to score in 4 league matches in a couple of months is alarming, now 1 point from 6 no goals scored and virtually nothing created.

Steven Gerrard was asked if Brendan Rodgers had any weaknesses and said, yes, over confident.

That cost us 2 points today.

  20. GARY67

    Good post!

I might be wrong but I’m guessing some who booed at the end of today’s game post on here.

    Now, I don’t know that for a fact but………………………..

  21. Despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, we have extended our lead at the top to 9 points with only 11 games to go. I would guess we’ll clinch the title the first game after the split.

  22. Dear Doctor,

Today I watched a referee step out ten good stretched paces to set my teams wall back the required ten yards but in the second half when the roles were reversed and in an almost identical position the ref didn’t seem so keen to either stretch his legs or count to ten.

    Am I paranoid?

  23. Ah well, I see we’re shite again. Good night to all of you malcontents.

9 points clear, still in Europe and even money to secure a second treble in a row. No wonder the Daily Record and Radio Clyde advertise at Celtic Park, plenty of our dim witted support toe their party line. HH to all the Celtic family.

  24. A few years back when I was living in Ireland, I used to go see St Pat’s, had a season book, being a small ground and not always full my scottish accent was often heard shouting obsenities at the referees, it’s in my DNA, anyways, one of the refs was a Pat’s supporter and when he reffed Pat’s games he was so unbiased, in fact he was unusually harsh on Pat’s, his reasoning that he would never have anyone say he was a cheat, shame the scottish see things a tad differently, but expected, it’s in their superiority DNA to cheat.

  25. BIG PACKY

    I’m only 68!

Poor performance and result…………..but we extended our lead!

    Love you too Big Mhan!

  26. PHILBHOY, please talk to me if only to disagree, ffs ive even got fairhill bhoy talking to me.lol.
