Lennon has to go and should have been sacked weeks ago.

My point is that he should never have been appointed in the first place.

100% We have shot ourselves in the foot but don’t we always?

What do you reckon will happen next?

  3. If anyone thinks our problems started this season, you haven’t been paying attention.

We have seen this coming for 18 months or so.

Many on here were criticised for mentioning regression. Name calling was the order of the day.

Surely now, all can see the light.

We are poor. Structurally poor. We have a hell of a rebuilding job ahead. This is for the next 3 to 5 years.

  4. James Forrest,

As much as I admire your writing, your last post does not have a shred of proof in it regards transfers. All hearsay. In fact its on record that Lenny convinced Ajeti to join. You then use it to slaughter PL.This is what does my head inBy all means crucify him for 2011,but as I said previously,if you are going to condemn a man for failure, then you must praise him for his successes.

    Just for clarity,

Peter Lawell chose the wrong man, he then backed the wrong man, thereby compounding the error.

The decision to re-appoint Neil Lennon as permanent manger after Brendan Rogers was retrogressive.

    A terrible mistake.

I realise you don’t rate Neil and every Celtic fan has that option… I think you are good for CQN because you stir a few emotions … see that Philbhoy character he gets annoyed for one reason as it looks like you post here to have a dig at P67 … by the way you & Philbhoy arguing is great for me as I know it means the two of you are leaving Neil Lennon alone :-)

  7. onenightinlisbon on

Surely the board are not hanging on to him to give him the chance to win the Scottish Cup?

  8. TURKEYBHOY on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:10 PM

We’ve wasted millions on players who are either out on loan, sitting on the bench or are simply not performing well.

Do you blame Neil Lennon for these signings or do you blame Lawwell?

If BR clearly didn’t want Shved, who do you believe made that signing?

  9. GFTB on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:02 PM

Copenhagen did not get to the semi finals.

I seem to remember they won one more tie after beating us against ‘istanbull’?…Man utd beat them in the last 8.

They are an average team by any standards….infact they were a fantastic draw for us.

Neil Lennon failed miserably against Cluj in the game that mattered..the champions league qualifier.

  10. 79CAPS on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 8:40 PM

If you mean Lawwell. would that be as CEO, or as DOF?

I don’t know any top clubs who would appoint an accountant as DOF, fter all, he, not Rodgers, signed Shved.

Do you think top clubs would be impressed with how he appointed a manager in Lennon but didn’t let him bring in his assistants?

Do you think they would be happy to give him the CEO position, but ignore him doing his job properly in looking for the best candidate for future management positions by ignoring CVs and leaving them unopened in a drawer?

  11. How is it at all possible to win 4 trophies out of 4,and your hiring be called a mistake

    Somebody explain.

  12. TURKEYBHOY on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:12 PM

4/5 now the League Cup has gone an almost certainly to be 4/6 or 4/7 come the end of the season. And quite frankly, while picking up trebles was nice, I’d swap all those cups for the big one – the one which was beyond Neil Lennon.

  13. Bhoy From The Boyne on

Anthony Joseph – sky sports guy on Twitter:

“There are no scheduled Zoom calls between Neil Lennon and the Celtic hierarchy.

As we said last week the board will continue to talk and review their stance.

Purely an observation – Lennon appeared to look/sound more assured about his position than last week”

Honest to god, lost for words. if they don’t change the manager & coaching team this week, then the consequences will be felt for a decade to come. Further drops in revenue, season tickets will drop and team will be less competitive ultimately. Only the zombies will gain.

    WHAT IS GOING ON!

  14. glendalystonsils on

What is happening just now almost seems like deliberate sabotage from within . A conscious weakening of the club at every level . This goes deeper than mere complacency or ‘taking your eye off the ball’.

I don’t normally go in for conspiracy theories , but such a dramatic collapse can’t be blamed solely on disgruntled players or lack of fans in grounds.

Our board is failing us , the management team is failing us , our scouting and recruitment team is failing us , the players on the park are failing us . That is a total rebuild , a total revolution in approach , thinking , structure and practice .

  15. TURKEYBHOY on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:16 PM

I’ll explain it. He was brought in to win 10IAR. He’s failing dismally – as well as the absolute humiliations in Europe.

  16. BHOY FROM THE BOYNE on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:16 PM

And yet some on here and alternative Celtic sites reckon refusal to buy Season Tickets is the way to go.

    HH.

  17. GEEBEE1978

agree cup finals are a good day out , but he and the team are failing miserably to get what the fans wanted most and create further history.

  18. Turkeybhoy 9.16pm

Maybe some Celtic fans maybe think

    “We deserve better”

This season reminds me so much of the Huns during Souness …

  19. Lawwell should have done his job and removed the management team, anytime from Ferencvaros till last week, it’s too late now for the league after that shite yet again today,Desmond should remove Lawwell, but he won’t.

  20. ONENIGHTINLISBON on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:21 PM

He himself admitted today that it’ll be tough to reel Sevco in.

    He’s waiting for his pay-off.

Rightly or wrongly, that decision should be taken out of his hands.

  21. Anthony Joseph from Sky has warned of a fake account, claiming to be him.

Best check we’re not quoting the fake one.

  22. Geebee1978,

On the signings made sorry I don’t go on rumours, twitters, anything like that.I don’t know anything about who signed the plays, nor does anyone on here.I know what a lot would like to think happened, but that’s not quite the same is it.

I do know BR said we have hundreds of wingers. How many in the squad today?.

  23. RC on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:22 PM

The cup final at an empty Hampden will be such an anti-climax if we’re 15+ points behind Sevco in the league.

As I said before, trebles are lovely but 10IAR was a one-off opportunity to make real history….and we’ve blown it.

  24. onenightinlisbon on

    GFTB on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:23 PM

Asking for the best for our club? Don’t you want that as well?

  25. ONENIGHTINLISBON:

Honestly mate? I dread to think. In a sane world we’d wake up tomorrow and the media would be heading for Celtic Park in anticipation of an announcement. But I believe Lennon will survive. I believe he’ll survive the dropping of points next week if it comes to that. He may even survive the concession of the three goals against Lille that would give us the Europa League’s worst ever goals against tally.

I think he’ll be here until the cup final, which I now fully expect us to struggle in and perhaps even lose.

If he wins the couple final, the board will probably tell us he’s the man who delivered the quadruple treble and deserves to see out the season.

Either way, I think the league’s probably gone.

Does he get money in January? I hope not, the rebuilding will be big enough without adding to it. The job as far as I’m concerned is now about major restructuring at the whole club; Lawwell can’t take this club into a new campaign and his manager certainly won’t. The time is now to start pressuring Demond into selling his shareholding, preferably to the fans … next year’s going to be hard.

Ten in a row should have been the crowning glory for a lot of people; it’s clear now that the whole quest for it has covered a multitude of sins … it feels like a full-scale reset, a rebuild from weakness rather than strength. This is an historic failure and a grotesque example of mismanagement on an epic scale. It’s clear when you look at it now, that we were built for short-term successes only and that there never was an overarching plan.

Ten in a row should have been a monument to a decade of dominance and the start of the next phase of it. Instead it’s as if we’re about to rip up the foundations and start again.

What a shambles. That’s a mammoth strategic failure almost beyond belief. The manager has to go, as soon as possible, if for no other reason than to send a message about what is and isn’t acceptable from someone in his role … but it scratches the surface of what needs done.

Lawwell has demonstrated even to those who’ve supported him that he’s not fit for purpose. We didn’t have a Plan B for this although the signs have been obvious for months. I am honestly petrified that they might yet conspire to make this even worse with another dreadful decision.

  26. Bhoy From The Boyne on

NL – Celtic man my a*se. If he truly was, he would understand how much hurt seeing 10iar slip away is causing the fans under his watch.

I felt sorry for him on Friday on the GB’s zoom banner protest. Tonight I feel nothing but contempt for him, PL & DD.

He is in this for himself alone as well.

  27. Oh well, if and when Sevco win this title, we can mark it as an ‘asterisk’ season.

They would have been first in the queue to say that to us.

  28. ONENIGHTINLISBON

I think that’s what we all want.

But we never got that when Neil Lennon was given the job in May 2019

KT signed a 4 year contract 6 months before he was sold and let’s get this right he was sold. No transfer request SOLD .

KT actually signed a 6 year contract a year b4 he was sold, claiming he wanted to stay for life

  30. TURKEYBHOY on 6TH DECEMBER 2020 9:25 PM

No, I’m not asking you to go by rumours. But the point is, BR didn’t buy Shved. Who did? Don’t want to speculate, fine. But it wasn’t our manager.

Who signed Klimala, Soro, Taylor, Turnbull, Ajeti? Don’t know or don’t want to speculate, fine. But if the manager signed them, why has he wasted millions of pounds of players he doesn’t trust to play? And if he didn’t, why didn’t he?

I made the point earlier that Sevco’s defence and goalkeeper today cost a combined £3.4m. Ours a combined £18.4. They’ve conceded three while we’ve…..you get my point.

Whoever is signing these players isn’t fit for purpose.

Yes it’s unravelled very quickly indeed.

I wonder how many season tickets will be sold next year…….
