Our next match is home to Lille (currently 2nd in Ligue 1 and only 2 points behind PSG), I see this as the perfect opportunity to try some of our so~called fringe players plus some first~teamers needing the game time?.

    What’s to lose?

    So how about starting with:

    HAZARD

    RALSTON

    WELSH

    TAYLOR

    SORO

    HENDERSON

    TURNBULL

    GRIFFITHS

    KLIMALA

    AJETI

    DEMBELE

James, 100% right but a few of us have been saying he was the wrong appointment since 25th May 2019 but have been called out on here as “Sleekit Huns”…..

    ………………

just for the sake of Honesty and Clarity…

I think that you will find that I have NEVER EVER used/Posted the word ” Sleekit” on here or anywhere else until my Post earlier this morning….

    FACT !

Losing is part of the game. I’ll never forget losing to Feyenoord in 71

    ………………………

YOU will never forget losing to Feyenoord in 71 ??????

Obviously you HAVE forgotten as it was in 1970……

    You are WRONG…Yet again…YAWN !

I think you’re underestimating Slippy a little bit – maybe we all did and the board certainly did.

I agree he’s not a “genius” and still has a lot to prove but he took a team that lost to Progres Niederkorn and they are now a regular feature in the knock-out stages for the Europa League. I’d fully back this side to make it through the two CL qualifiers.

Yes, he’s been backed but they’re entitled to when they’ve also picked up free signings and cheap bargain players who start and play well. We have multi-million-pound players sitting in the stands.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this in my life and never thought I’d be saying it now but despite the chaos behind the scenes, they’re certainly running their football operations better, be it coaching or recruitment.

  5. NEIL LENNON & MCCARTNEY on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 7:21 AM

Agreed but don’t understand why that wasn’t done for Sparta away, Milan and maybe even the League Cup.

  6. Big Jimmy… Well noticed…. 71 my arse….. Sometimes it slips….

As for the lawwell Desmond haters…. I can remember the previous board…… Desmond got us…. MON and Rodgers….. I honestly believe we Need his intervention again….. Would we be better or worse off in the last 20 years without them??…… I’d edge towards worse…… Hypothetical obviously… But I’d take 14 leagues out of the next 20…

  7. VINNIETHEDOG on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 7:57 AM

Agreed to a point. But I think he needs to replace Lawwell and appoint a knowledgeable director of football. Recruitment needs looking at too.

  8. Geebee…. The recruitment of the huns certainly looks better……… If we’d kept Gordon (cheap).. Saved 4.5 million… Bought toney instead of ajeti…. 4.5 plus 3.5 of ajeti money…. Its not rocket science

THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS:

Surely the week that awaits us has to improve…..somewhere.

  10. Big Jimmy

I enjoy your morning posts . They are like a wee livener for me before I go out cycling o/golfing or whatever.

There are a;so quite a few poster now whose comments, to be frank, I find pretty stupid and narrow. I still read the first line IN CASE they have had an epiphany . So far, none have so I skip the rest of the post.

Responding is a waste of time as those people seldom change. Up to you ,of course but I would recommend a similar approach.

    Off to the golf !

  11. VINNIETHEDOG on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 8:03 AM

Their back four and goalkeeper yesterday cost a combined £3.4m. They’ve conceded three goals.

Ours is a combined £18.m and can’t defend simple set-pieces. That’s before we delve into wages.

Our recruitment has been shocking and yes, I agree Ajeti looks very expensive.

  12. HOT SMOKED on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 8:08 AM

I’m not sure everything can be put down to hindsight. Toney was young, fit, highly rated and was banging in goals. He also reportedly wanted to come.

Ajeti hardly played, was unfit, didn’t get on with two managers and took a holiday before seeing if any other offers came in.

To be fair, there were plenty on here who said we should’ve gone for Toney before the event.

  13. Hot smoked…. Hardly know a celtic fan that wanted rid of Gordon considering his experience and what it would have cost… 10k a week on a TWO year deal……. It was obvious Toney was desperate to come….. Rather than someone who was begged to come…. If you’ve ever hired someone or sat on the interview process…. I’d nearly always take the keenest… The one you knew would bust a gut for you… As I said….. Not rocket science…

    ……………..

Cheers mate, thanks for your kind words.

I probably have too much time on my hands these days, with being Disabled and the Pubs STILL being Closed…and having no where to go most days…except for the Vets.

I am due to be there yet again at lunch time Today to pick up more Needles and Insulin for my Bhoy…Wee Rocky.

So the Vet appointment is booked, the Taxis there and back are Booked…what an exciting day lies ahead LOL !

I havent been on a Bike for Years, sadly my Disabilities prevent me from giving it a try these days. I would love to buy a decent Bike, and get myself fitter and be out and about especially during these Lock Downs, but my Body wouldnt allow it.

Thats why there would be no point in me trying to ride a Bike…not even an Exercise Bike at home.

    Lazy BassaCFC LOL.

    HH Mate.

  15. What are the chances of the Pubs being allowed to Re Open BEFORE Christmas ?

its my Birthday at end of next week, and I want to get plenty of Bevvy and chat up some Saltmarket Sizzlers.

Maybe Im not fit enough to ride a Bike these days…but after 9 or 10 Pints of Beer…I can still just about ” Twist and Shout”, with the Glesga Gals.

    LOL

    …….

I gave away my Golf Clubs four years ago when my health was becoming much worse. I used to really enjoy a Day of Golf…and I found it to be a great Hangover cure especially at 8am on a Sunday morning.

I also sold my old Hoover…it was just lying in a corner gathering Dust.

    LOL

  17. Big Jimmy,

“Maybe Im not fit enough to ride a Bike these days…”

    – Sounds like half our team at the moment.

Jail “The Jimmy 1” :)) por cierto

    ###

So Lawwell and The Great Desmondo have it within their gift to bestow greatness upon us, but more often than not chose not to.

Is that a fair summary of what you’re saying?

If so, I’m surprised you’re not in the hate camp yourself.

  20. Good morning from a damp and grey (matching my mood) North Staffs.

So Lenny thinks he can turn it round – won’t hold my breath but shaking up the midfield would be a start. Play players in their proper positions and 2 up front.

  21. 13 Internationalists named between the team and the subs yesterday. Surely there’s a coach out there who could make a team worthy of the jersey from that lot, por cierto.

  22. POR CIERTO on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 8:50 AM

    ………..

    ” Jail”..?

Thats a bit harsh mate…because of One bad joke LOL ?

BIG WAVY on 7TH DECEMBER 2020 8:43 AM

    ……….

Sadly, your probably right Big Wavy. get the lot of them down to the sands of Gullane…or even Seamill.

    LOL.

    ………….

    WEEBOBBYCOLLINS…

Cheers mate and thanks for asking about wee RockyBhoy. I preferred Dugs to cats years ago, but when I met my 2nd wife in 1999, she already had a Cat ( Not Rocky), and that Cat loved me until he died in 2006. my wife then brought a new Kitten into the hoose, and I named him ” Rocky”….it could have been worse…as i did consider calling him ” SPARTACUS” ? LOL.

As a kitten Rocky was diagnosed with a Murmer in his wee heart..bless him…but I just knew he would be a fighter and now 14 years later he has proved me correct. he also makes me laugh everyday with his antics…although he gave up on my bad jokes long ago !

    LOL

    HH Bhoys.

  23. VINNIETHEDOG…7th December 7.57am…..

Yes, I spotted his Schoolboy error right away.

Neil Lennon is not the first Celtic manager to make mistakes and he wont be the last. Big Jock underestimated Feyenoord back in 1970, and he also left George Connelly out of the team for that final in Milan. He also bought Joe Filipi and a winger called Johnny Gibson from Partick Thistle …and several other Duds thru his years at Celtic.

I do think that Neils time is up…I just think he should be shown MORE RESPECT than hes been getting from some on here…and also from those who like to chase Celtic Buses.

  24. The speed and scale of our collapse this season is genuinely breathtaking. There’ll be books written about this nightmare. We’ve lost the most important season in a generation before Christmas !

  25. Ernie…… I understand anyone who’s pissed off with lawwell and Desmond…… I can’t put myself in the hate camp simply because I save my hate for real huns and those of an extreme right wing disposition………. I read your conspiracy stuff with an open mind…… It may or not be the case…. If I had to put my house on it… One way or the other I’d say that I don’t think they’d let rangers win the league deliberately…. Why put yourself through that?…. Doesn’t add up…… Would you or me do things differently… Of course we would… I’d have put the boot on the throat as hard as I could.

  26. An Dun,

Forster singelhandedly stopped a humping at Hampden last December and then alarm bells started with the home game when we were frankly rotten again.

The signs on how ‘sieve-like’ we were, even against Accies on day one, were there to be seen. The worry was that all was needed was a decent competent side. Competent sides are now showing less competent sides how easy we are to play against with that system.

He’s here on Thursday and it will be groundhog day again so grid your loins.

    Sadly.

  27. Slabhoy - on the road to 10 on

I’m kinda with Ernie on his theory, in that DD has reckoned if it was Lennon who won the 10 that would be smashing, but if they won it it would be good for the league/PLC. So he figured he couldn’t lose. By hobbling Lenny via the backroom staff, he has leaned towards the latter. He then gets a new quality manager and team with the funds from the clear put to start it all over again…

  28. Don’t buy into the ‘ let the Huns win the league’ theory – I suspect a good old fashioned balls up with PL at its heart- his interference on the playing side of the business has come home to bite us.

  29. We started the game yesterday

    Again without a right back

How often, and when will we learn ???
