Taking a glass bottle filled with alcohol into a licensed premise in Glasgow is, itself unlawful. Heat of the moment doesn’t excuse knowing what’s right or wrong. It was a sporting event and they were under no threat apart from their unfounded sense of superiority. It’s still assault as reasonably throwing a glass bottle where people are congregated can be seen as intent to injure…..potentially.
Remorse is fine to consider in sentencing but not, it would be suggested, for guilt.

Howevvvvah, I have not read any posts on the following comments made during the 1st half of the Ibrox game:

I’d love Celtic fans’ assignment of “Old Firm FC” to go viral and then stick.

I have thought about this a few times.
If it had happened to us, how would you have felt, what would you have done, how do you reconcile the losses. Pretend it did not happen, keep on supporting, turning up , paying up.
Your Billy small business man made good and you got a contract doing something for the mighty Glasgow Rangers and as a reward to yourself and to family you bought debenture seats in the 90s for you and your da, something tangible to pass onto future generations, something for wee billy to always own. Access to a lounge, a parking space, you get dressed up to go the game, up there in the club deck 2 names on the seats, we are the people indeed.
When it goes under, you are owed for services done, you lose the debentures, now not worth the paper they were printed on.
Within months the assets are sold, a new entity is raised, you call the owners, em can i have my 2 seats please and my monies back ……………….
if it was you or me, would you keep going, would you just say och thats the way it is.
