  1. Good morning all from a very, very cold Springburn (work).

Has anyone got a spare for the cup semi? Shameless reposting and begging bowl out.

    D :)

To err is human; to forgive divine.

    ——–

    Yes indeed – I agree.

And to some of the would be stone-throwers in our midst : “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.

    ” John 8.7.

  3. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

67hailhail’s reporting of TavPen’s comments are interesting.

TavPen has history when it comes to rationalising defeat at Celtic’s hands.

I can’t tell if this is a deliberate

… “we’re not far away. Please renew”

    message

Or he actually believes his own copy.

    Bit of both possibly.

  4. Matthew 25:41 ESV / 36 helpful votes

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

We all sin, but some sins are a lot worse than others.

  5. BTW – thank God for modern stone throwers – I think they work in things called Law Courts.

  6. Slainte at 2.13 am.

I’m not saying I agree or disagree but I do like the alliteration LOL

I agree with that truism. Supposing that the bottle thrower at Ibrox expressed deep remorse and claimed it was a “heat of the moment” error. Would you be inclined to forgive?

    —————-

Bummer that’s me out, Can’t justify a trip 2 weeks in a row, especially as my 2 Simple Minds tickets probably won’t be used this Sunday.

Oh well, CSC to watch the game and then into town for Alan Partridge – aaah haaaaaa

  9. Taking a glass bottle filled with alcohol into a licensed premise in Glasgow is, itself unlawful. Heat of the moment doesn’t excuse knowing what’s right or wrong. It was a sporting event and they were under no threat apart from their unfounded sense of superiority. It’s still assault as reasonably throwing a glass bottle where people are congregated can be seen as intent to injure…..potentially.

Remorse is fine to consider in sentencing but not, it would be suggested, for guilt.

Turkeybhoy 10.29. That’ll be me later on today. Or possibly speaking Gaelic. 🤔

  11. MARTIM1980 on 11TH APRIL 2022 10:25 AM

I was not suggesting that at all.

The perpetrator, if found guilty, should not be spared from the full force of the law.

I still think that Ronaldo is petulant and a prat, but that’s just my opinion.

No worries I hadn’t fully read back if I get time I will. Apologies.

  18. A little late to the Andy Walker debate from last night

Howevvvvah, I have not read any posts on the following comments made during the 1st half of the Ibrox game:

McCoist – this ref has not resorted to issuing any cards yet to control the game. Another ref. might well have issued 3 or 4 by now.

Walker – aye, yellows for Rangers, reds for Celtic.

    McCoist – no response.

    Did anyone else hear that?

For avoidance of doubt, I am no fan of Walker, quite the opposite, so was shocked to hear him sat that.

  19. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Early days but Sevco’s “Old Firm” blunder feels potentially seminal.

I’d love Celtic fans’ assignment of “Old Firm FC” to go viral and then stick.

I’m going to use it faithfully moving forward.

For years we’ve tried to ditch this association (while wearing our serious faces).

Ironic therefore that it’s demise might come about through the “wind up” approach …

… Instigated and facilitated by Sevco?

    🤔🤭

    Sorry – OLD FIRM FC

    ———————————-

I have thought about this a few times.

If it had happened to us, how would you have felt, what would you have done, how do you reconcile the losses. Pretend it did not happen, keep on supporting, turning up , paying up.

Your Billy small business man made good and you got a contract doing something for the mighty Glasgow Rangers and as a reward to yourself and to family you bought debenture seats in the 90s for you and your da, something tangible to pass onto future generations, something for wee billy to always own. Access to a lounge, a parking space, you get dressed up to go the game, up there in the club deck 2 names on the seats, we are the people indeed.

When it goes under, you are owed for services done, you lose the debentures, now not worth the paper they were printed on.

Within months the assets are sold, a new entity is raised, you call the owners, em can i have my 2 seats please and my monies back ……………….

if it was you or me, would you keep going, would you just say och thats the way it is.

I believe for a lot of these people that was the end, they never went back. Were Glasgow Warriors not the main beneficiaries as a result?
