I might have posted this before my dad had told me for years that George Connolly was the best Celtic player he had ever saw (opinions but he was quite adamant)

I should really swap Charlie T for Patsy Gallagher………….
I grew up in the 50’s and would have seen Charlie (whilst a wean)!

I will give you a tip about Pedro. Don’t trust him. 2 very good Celtic men I know have told me how ruthless he is.
Is rudicantfail/ ryecatcher on suicide watch after the Liverpool result?

If we sign this Croatian lad, then a real signal of intent.
And I for one applaud the club for identifying quality, and paying the going rate

Apologies to the blog for the duff Wanyama info. My Kenyan mole , a Mr Hugha Keevinsama, will be fired.

5 best we have seen and 5 we would have liked to? ??

Ruggyman,
I’m generally a very, very optimistic half full person but the very first word of your post there is the most significant.
Finest Celtic players I have seen (not necessarily my favourites): Bobby Murdoch, Jimmy Johnstone, George Connolly, Danny McGrain and Kenny Dalglish, each and every one world class.
Saw Bobby Evans and Charlie Tully but too young to really appreciate them.
Finest players I would have loved to see: Malky MacDonald (my Dad used to claim he was the best he had seen: now says it’s Bobby Murdoch), Jimmy McGrory, Patsy Gallagher, Johnny Crum and Johnny Thompson.

My Dad (God rest him) used to remind me I had seen big Jock play in the Hoops…………..
My Grandad took me to the Coronation Cup Final – haven’t a scooby about the game but in my old memory banks I still recall ‘Pop’ walking me past the old Carntyne Dog track on route to Paradise.
Jeez – must be an age thing (I’m getting flash-backs)!

Ruggy, a bit late but better than nothing. Still no striker.

The Hubris on here since Tuesday…..oh my Lord!!
Educating and informing us that the Europa League is Celtic’s ‘level’
We are not even anywhere near this level under Lawwell……..
I truly despair…….Celtic won’t even get out of their Europa League Group unless The Turks or the Dutch guys decide not to field their strongest 11
There is no evidence to suggest we will
Anyway keep deflecting …..attack the Green Brigade……the heartbeat of our club…..
Meanwhile…..I await an update of where the next Communion service will take place……
The old Carntyne Dog Track, my granny lived round the corner from it. Haven’t thought about it for years. Would you know if there was a football pitch there. I have a faint memory of watching a match there 60 or so years ago.

Ah, Rudi… there you are.
Some gubbin’ for LIverpool yesterday, eh?

If they can force through the sale of scepovic, then we might see a striker.
The likelihood however is that they will go with Griffiths, Cifti, Scepovic / Stokes,

Getting old’s magic, eh?
When the great Tommy Gemmell was on this blog last year I told him about my recollections of the last time the Lions played together (Ronnie Simpson came out but didn’t play) against Clyde, and the piledriver he scored.
Tommy’s polite and gentlemanly reply pointed out that he didn’t score in that game.

Snap – My da used to insist that I had seen Willie Fernie in the flesh but I must’ve been about 3!
But he spent the next 30 years raving about him, so I want to see what all the fuss was about!
