    More energy, but much dreadful again. Utterly impotent up top is killing the whole team. There is zero danger, which gives St Mirren confidence and makes them comfortable.

     

     

    We’re missing the creativity of Turnbull and Kyogo and the goal instinct of GG.

     

     

    It’s a bad day when you’re looking for Ajeti to bail you out, because Maeda is offering nothing. Again.

    Continuation of Sunday, pass pass pass pass pass…go across, go back…..as another poster said we appear to be morphing into Lennon’s Celtic from last season. No guile, no creativity and not a clue how to break down a stuffy defence.

     

     

    Dropped points on the cards without doubt.

    Very poor indeed. Hatate has actually been a negative tonight. Slowing play down every time. O’Riley not doing much. Maeda has actually shown excellent movement again but no supply. Jota and Abada both tepid.

     

     

    Need Big Tam on to unlock this defence.

    Nothing the matter with the back 4.The problem is Hatate.When you have a packed defence,you need the 3 midfielders putting the effort and skill in.He is playing as our no 10,FFS.Very poor performance.

     

    Anyone watch the Boro v Spurs game last night,Howson everywhere on the park.This is what’s needed.

     

    Our final cross is consistently rotten.Maeda runs all over the place,but does little.

    Passing the buck — no-one wants to take responsibility.

     

    We are fast heading back to the worst of NL.

     

    We have the ball and the front five are static waiting for a pass.

     

     

    Through the middle we are having to rely on CS.

     

    RH is right off his eggs — too often static and a lot of his play is sloppy.

     

    CMcG is regressing at a rate of knots — no drive / no spark / no class.

     

     

    And then you have the crossing efforts — JJ’s weak link so far.

     

    Team is very unsettled — so many new faces mean that a pattern of play has not developed.

     

     

    AP needs to earn his wages now — encourage and change to max effect.

     

    We are currently honking.

    Not defending it, but it’s possibly something to do with watching utter pish for 5 halves in a row with not a single goal, hardly a single shot on target, and countless wasted set pieces?

     

     

    Tommy Gemmell or Naka would salivate at some of the free kick opportunities we have, and yet we fritter them away without even attempting a shot. Zero excitement generated, because we just squander goal opportunities.

    We could move Abada to striker and Maeda to the wing. Ideguchi could come on and allow Callum to move forward. Bitton could allow this to happen to. Take off Hatate. We could bring on Ralston at right back and allow Juranovic to replace Taylor. We could move Juranovic into midfield, we could move to a back three.

     

     

    There are no shortage of changes we could try in order to give St. Mirren something to think about. We need a change of approach. We have not worked their goalkeeper.

    A telling moment for me. JJ breaks the line and a pass opens up to Maeda in the box and he chooses to check and play to Abada out wide instead. If that’s Kyogo or even GG he’s making that pass, but it betrays a lack of confidence in Maeda’s ability. I’m not sure what the lad is, because he’s not a CF on current form. Or a winger. He might just be knackered after a full season in Japan and will come good next season. But we need to create some danger now and he’s not the answer, based on recent performances.

    Maeda can show all the excellent movement,but we need someone to stay in the box.He is not a CF.He will score the odd goal,hopefully tonight,but this is e as for Saints.

    No one can judge maeda on these games. No service worth the name. He’s busting a gut. I’d like to see O’Riley playing a little more centrally although I fell when he, juranovic and Abada combine there is promise there.

    Lack of confidence and is alarming. There is a nervous tension on the players’ faces, the relaxed smiles have disappeared.

     

    It’s up to Ange to sort this out. He has to change something because we are going nowhere at the moment.

     

    Reluctance to shoot is frustrating.

    Huge mistake not to put either of the B team strikers on the bench.

     

    JD would offer something different plus he might play without fear.

    One thing TR would give is drive and energy so I sold be all for JJ going left back (or Guchi) to accommodate Tony.

     

     

    Tam should be on. Obviously.

     

     

    Karamoko on bench. If he’s fit enough to be in squad he should be fit enough to come on and cause some problems.

    Can’t believe the players lack of spark,we have a league title to win,but you wouldn’t know it by that first half performance.

    I dont think you can blame lack of service for maeda .Just seems like the wrong guy to play that position.

     

     

    We literally have noone else (Ajeti is beyong hope).

     

     

    Maybe swap him with Abada would be the only positive i can think of.

    So moaning and groaning when the team is playing badly is the new support then. Best fans in the world. Mmmmm

     

     

    Yet we mock the mob from Govan …..

     

     

    Still due to recovering from the stupid covid I decided not to go tonight. At least the 42,000 moa era who did go made an effort I guess.

     

     

    I hope they get a grip and realise on nights like this they can play their part in winning and losing league championships ….

    Very hard to break down a team with 11 defending within their final third.

     

    Hard to find space in and around their box with so many bodies in there. We’ve created a couple of openings from cutbacks (Abada’s chance the best we’ve created).

     

    Going to be hard the longer the game goes on, as our creative players tire, but we need to keep the tempo high. Quick passing. Switch play. Try to tire their defence, to create the space we need to get a shot off.

     

    Not pleasant viewing – but that’s mainly down to St Mirrrens anti-football approach.

    Hard to do when 42,000 experts are ready to pounce if you dont do as they think you should.
