  1. That awkward moment when (as a blogger who wants to be taken seriously) you start your latest blog with the following sentence…

“It is incredible to me that so many unintelligent piece work in our media.”

    Oh, the irony…🤣🤣🤣

  2. WBC

I know they were the Home team. My point was about how to set up against a superior opposition.

You are right that no one has solved it but the officials are doing their not so level best.

  3. P.B. I know you didn’t insult him, it was another poster…However, after 75 minutes they were only one goal behind and, as you know, although they hadn’t worried big Joe, it only takes a moment for things to change.

From Robinson’s point of view, to be hanging in so late in the game and then lose another four goals is devastating. I thought they gave it a go. Not the worst to come and face us…

  4. Hot Smoked…any (scottish) team comes to Celtic Park and plays like Darvel did against the Dons and we will score a few…admiral though it would be.

  5. It’s a rather false narrative, imo, to suggest that the game never changed with the second goal.

As WBC says, at only 1-0 the opposition are still game in the game. Especially in a cup tie, were a draw means you’re still in it.

It only takes one moment to change the complexion of a game. Take THEIR penalty, for example. If Starfelt had conceded it at 1-0 (rather than 3-0) the game would have changed dramatically. At 1-1, with 15 mins to go, who knows what would have happened next. Yes, we may have went on to win by scoring another 4 goals. But maybe not. We’ll never know, thankfully.

GordyBhoy – Great to see you posting here again.

especially for you….. the nonchalance of REO’s back heel @ high speed. Magical.

His 2nd goal wisnae bad either.

any (scottish) team comes to Celtic Park and plays like Darvel did against the Dons and we will score a few..”

Don`t we invariably score a few regardless?

BTW I am not criticising opposition Managers for their tactics. If my team plays well, I expect a victory. How the opposition sets up is up to them and relatively unimportant to me..

  8. WEEBOBBYCOLLINS on 12TH FEBRUARY 2023 11:43 AM

If you were an opposing manager how would you set out your team to play against us at Celtic Park?

    ———

    WBC – Easy…. attack.

If a manager comes with the mindset of setting up 2 banks of 5 then he is thinking (we are getting beat here).

So why not go for it from the off and if they are then getting beat 2 or 3 after 20 mins then revert back to 2 banks of 5 and try and stop the onslaught.

There are many reasons why smaller teams do not have dwindling fan bases but the biggest factor will be paying hard earned cash for a SB or tickets to watch dross.

Simple really managers of football teams should be there to entertain for fans if they are thinking business then get out the dugout.

Scottish football is an utter joke, Ange came showed teams how to play even keep the ball in play as much as possible with ball boys throwing back ASAP (multiball). What do managers like Robinson do their team talk is slow the game up pull your socks up, fall down hold your face get rid of ball boys everything to ruin an entertaining game.

    Cheating their own fans.

    Pathetic

    Only my opinion of course

    D :)

  9. We are usually going mad when the goals go in.

Watch that footage – This is a proper TEAM.

    Remarkable,

Remarkable I made it home last night but thats another story….

Let’s be aggressive as Ange says in the transfer market.

    He is a Man Manager.

You see the Bonds between the Bhoys in celebration.

    Magical.

    Something Big is happenin’.

Your not the guy who looked at his watch with two minutes left of extra time and went for a pee, thinking game over.

Found out it was 5:1 in the bus 🫣

  11. Big headache for Ange coming up, no not juggling a team fighting on 3 fronts, cup final coming up etc.

No how is he going to manage Leeds AND Southampton?!!

Managers use selective facts to justify (defend) their viewpoint.

    Fair enough.

The game did indeed get away from St Mirren at the penalty and red card.

“Hanging in there” became “Game over”

    What he didn’t say (understandably)

    Penalty award was correct

Red card correct. Stopped certain goal

Both occurred due to pressure applied

Pressure is a product of Celtic’s process

Celtic’s process stronger than St Mirren’s

I did all I could as a coach and my team played well … but we STILL lost 5-1

So, totally understandably, he takes the easy option.

    “Celtic benefitted from decisions”

    And why not?

SMSM will gleefully run with that narrative and Robinson gets an easier life.

When I boarded our bus after the game there were 3 guys who left when Hatate converted the penalty and one guy who left at half-time. All 4 had alcohol stored on the bus and clearly couldn’t wait till after the game to get stuck in.

I just don’t understand supporters like that. I and the other 3 in my company stayed to the end. That didn’t stop us enjoying a few cans of beer on the way back to Edinburgh, having enjoyed the late goal fest.

P.B. …only ever happened to me once…In 1961 I went with a hun friend to see thems play a friendly against Eintracht Frankfort at Hampden. It was to inaugurate the new Hampden lights and it was about eighteen months after they had been severely by spanked by the Germans in the European Cup. Half time it was 2-0 to Eintracht. We both went for a pee and missed the second half kick-off and a third German goal (received in utter silence). The huns scored two quick goals and the game ended with us thinking it had been a 2-2 draw. It wasn’t until the next day I delightedly saw in the papers that thems had actually been beaten 3-2…

We had to stop at Harthill for a pee, so did the Tranent bus and a AAA coach. Never seen so many bhoys needing a pee at a service station 🙄

Following on from WBC….in season 2007 or 2008 when I was in 118 parent and child area I missed 5 goals going for a pee before HT.

The row behind me had bhoys encouraging me to go so we could score a goal…..

I’m sure if opposing managers had the the resources Celtic have at their disposal their approach to football might change

    ——-

Marspapa – Did not stop us having a go at our CL opponents earlier in season who all operate on a much bigger budget than ours.

A few seasons ago i had a correct score bet of 4-0 v Hearts.

Celtic scored a 4th in 79 minutes to go 4-0 up.

My mate Sean was seated in front of me. Sean has a habit of spending most of the games on his mobile phone.

On 82 minutes Hearts scored, to complete silence as the Jambo support had long since vacated the stadium.

On 85 minutes Sean turned and said, “Only five minutes Tam.”

    “What for?” I replied.

    “Your bet.”

    “My bet’s goosed.”

    “How?”

    “Hearts scored.”

    “When?”

Everyone in the vicinity were in hysterics and Sean took some ribbing for that one.

  24. AT,

This is the best Celtic team I’ve witnessed. Born in 72.

Of course those 60 and older will remember that drink was allowed in the park. The empty tin could be opened with a yale key, you peed inside (very carefully) and turned it upside down to run down the terracing. You never missed a goal, alas a lost skill these days 🙄
