    We started playing the 3-5-2 on the back of 2 disappointing performances against Sevco in December.

     

     

    Their pressing game left us penned in with no out ball. We struggled with one upfront and were over run in midfield.

     

     

    I can’t see Neil going back to 4-2-3-1 next weekend. I’d be very surprised and disappointed if we seen Griff return to the bench on the back of a hat trick. Gerrard has had two years to counter act out 4-2-3-1 and I believe we need to give him something new to worry about.

     

     

    Make ourselves compact and they’ll struggle to break us down. With Griff and Eddie upfront, I believe we’ll cut them open on the counter.

     

     

    That said there’s also an argument for pressing up on them given how utterly shite they’ve been lately.

     

     

    I’ll reserve judgment on how I think we should approach the derby for now until I see them tomorrow and Thursday against the Germans.

    Sevco play a narrow 451.

     

     

    If we play the above three, like I think we should, I would be happy with,

    Kudos to Neil and all the staff at CP.

     

    There was no public statements from the management or players on Leigh’s situation.

     

    Only a public commitment to stand by him while he worked out whatever demons he had, and to nurse him through to full fitness.

     

    Neil was particularly protective of him no doubt due to his own experience.

     

    Leigh has repaid his manager, and the fans, by providing us with a vital option in the home stretch to the NIAR.

     

    I’m sure the full squad and any future signings will recognize that Celtic players are not just an asset in the balance sheet but also a respected member of the Celtic family.

For me, very similar, but I would swap Rogic for Christie and put Calmac in the middle of the midfiel 3 with instructions to be the attacking midfielder with Christie palying deeper in disruptive defensive role. I guess Forrest would be sacrificed

    *if fit then play Ntcham for Biton in midfield, but this 4-3-3 is a workhorse formation designed to be physical and energetic without the ball. Under no circumstances should we start at Ibrox with Rogic as he does not have the legs and pressing game. They key is to put Christie on the left wing due to his defensice qualities and to get him to track back and help Taylor while using his attacking quality in the final third. When Sevcos wingbacks have the ball then well spread out to a 4–5-1 retrieve the ball then bang!

    ROBERTTRESSELL I think NL will go 3-5-2 since we have earned the right to gamble a bit and get at them since they will be knackered from the Leverkusen game. if fit then Ntcham plays in midfield otherwise put christie in the midfield 3 for his tireless energy to play a more disruptive role. Griff and Eddy versus their centre backs should prevent them stepping up an feeding the midfield, but it is the Sevco wingbacks that we need to press back to Frimpong and Hayes should go all out attack.

    I have no idea why folk want to have a dig at Brendan Rodgers over his handling of Leigh. That myth was put to bed by the mhan himself on his return…
