  1. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

So in seasons 2009/10 & 2010/11, Celtic missed out on champions league direct entry because the rotten mob made fraudulent claims on their application. That cost our club 35,650,000 Euro in prize money.

Awe ffs … does that mean I am the Coatbrig Macjay …

Surely you at least look for a response, mines comes naturally:-)

But I suppose we also have Celtic in common … there is always a positive

  6. *** CQN PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2019-20 ***

Whilst we weren’t at our scintillating best yesterday, we controlled the game from start to finish, peppering our performance with several memorable moments. And we witnessed our 2nd hat trick of the season with our #9 having his best game for us in over a year. When it comes to Man Of The Match awards it’s almost inevitable that the sponsors will give that to any hat trick hero, as happened at the ground yesterday. However, there were a few other very fine performances and some of the CQN community, myself included, thought that there were 3 even better performers than Leigh. Indeed, 8 of our 10 outfield starters caught they eye of at least one of our voting population.

I understand that online streams of non-televised Celtic Park games are becoming more difficult to find and understandably the number of voters is a little lower than would normally be the case for such a convincing, feel-good resounding victory. But a big thank you as always to the 45 who did manage to cast their votes.

Results are as follows with my own choices asterisked –

    Forster: 0

    Bitton*: 20

    Jullien: 0

    Ajer: 1

    Forrest*: 17

    Brown*: 7

    McGregor: 17

    Rogic: 7

    Taylor: 0

    Griffiths: 40

    Edouard: 25

    Christie: 0

    Elyounoussi: 0

    Elhamed: 1

So, the players receiving points for the Livingston game are –

    Griffiths – 5 points

    Edouard – 4 points

    Bitton – 3 points

    McGregor – 2 points

    Forrest – 2 points

In terms of the overall points table, Scott Brown has been leading the way since we beat Lazio away on 7th November. So top of the leage for 26 games. But we finally have a new leader although it remains very tight at the top –

    1st – Edouard – 76 points

    2nd – Brown – 73 points

    3rd – McGregor – 69 points

    4th – Jullien – 53 points

    5th – Christie – 46 points

    6th – Forrest – 45 points

    7th – Frimpong – 40 points

    8th – Ntcham – 38 points

    9th – Ajer – 31 points

    10th – Elyounoussi – 26 points

    11th – Forster – 25 points

    12th – Taylor and Griffiths – 22 points

    14th – Bauer – 14 points

    15th – Bitton, Rogic and Bolingoli-Mbombo – 13 points

    18th – Hayes and Elhamed – 8 points

    20th – Johnston and Welsh – 4 points

    22nd – Bayo – 3 points

    23rd – Morgan and Robertson – 2 points

    25th – Simunovic – 1 point

26th – Bain, Gordon, Klimala, Sinclair, Ralston, Arzani, Hendry, Dembele, Shved – all on 0 points

Next up, a High Noon kick off at Ibrox next Sunday against Sevco, aka The Zombies, aka The Doppelgangers, aka Triggers Broom FC, aka The Deady Bears, etc, etc. Kick off for us will take place approximately 187 hours after our last game finished. Sevco’s break will have been 64 hours. Hopefully our performance will lead to the highest number of voters for the season so far – 79 emails required so pass the word around!! And, personally, I hope we let them worry about us rather than the other way around – go 3-5-2 and secure a resounding victory!

Oh and I now get a week away from your admittedly often witty and interesting emails. I hope you understand that I don’t have time to respond personally to each one. But keep your stories and reasoning coming – they are always interesting reading.

    Hail Hail!

  8. Just updated Wee Alfredo’s wiki…

By the time of the mid-season break at the end of December, Morelos had scored 28 goals in 35 games. He also set a UEFA individual record for most goals in a European campaign a before Christmas, with 14.[64]

The Buffalo, has failed to score one goal since we ‘Rang in the Bells’ for 2020.

He has NEVER scored against the mighty Celtic and looks likely he never will.

Stories of prostitutes and recreational drugs have cropped up from the Klubs winter break in Dubai. So all good then. He will likely leave the klub in the summer for an undisclosed fee.

    First para not mine obviously.

Had a heart to heart disagreement yesterday with my best mate for the last 40 plus years.

    The subject? Refugees.

He`s still my best mate today .

    And will be tomorrow.

You never forget. It`s like riding a bicycle. :-)

  10. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

Mentioned that Morelos looked overweight and sluggish.

No handshakes from the bench for him as he was subbed today.

Is the bullish run over ?

  11. Macjay 10.06pm

That’s a subject I hope never to get into considering my grandparents from both parents were refugees :-)

I can honestly say my days of typing out arguments are behind me … far too many actual serious things in life

Celtic is our we get out … I always wonder what CQN would be like if we didn’t always win leagues & cups

Hopefully we never find out :-)

  12. Gordybhoy64

I can assure you I posted that I was chuffed that FB’s dad was going to the game yesterday …

I think it was when some posters were saying over 70s shouldn’t be going to the game … it’s there to be read, am not reading back as I know there was no nastiness at all

  13. following on from the announcement that yesterdays game was a sell out and going by the number of empty seats at yesterdays game I think is time that there is a system that if season ticket holders were not attending the home match for whatever reason then they should be able to inform the the club that they are not attending and allow them to sell their seat for the game and that the Celtic foundation could be the beneficiaries if they did

Petec I just got back fro. Val D,Isier yesterday skiied only 2 days from six due to too much snow, there is literally mountains of the stuff. Will try to return next month.

Cheers for the info m8ty – it is appreciated.

We have been exceptionally lucky with our trips to Les Rousses (Jouvencelles) with the snow, it is always a gamble at this time of the year. I got the worst ever sunburn first year we went. At the tap of the mountain (Restaurant/Drink) it was showing 19C – skiing in that heat – absolutely crazy but Quality.

I must admit I’d like fresh snow for each day. I know you can’t always get what you want.

Up there that high, there is nae way, we will be able to get access to witness the Celts at the Hate factory. :(

BTW – over 3.5 goals first half in the Newco Bayer Leverkusen game. 20/1 – on those long odds already.

Geneva airport should be a laugh. ;))

  20. I made a big mistake tonight, and I feel real bad aboot it.

I didnae put Leigh as a pick in Jobo’s competition, I was too busy thinking of all the other candidates to get the podium place. Sorry Leigh, you should have had an extra vote. Thankfully it shouldnae influence the overall outcome.

    Leigh was easily MOTM yesterday.

  21. GFTB and FB

    Life is too short.

Ye got to Respect each other, if ye cannae dae that, then it’s likely wise to not engage with each other.
