  1. NADIR Ciftci will make his competitive debut for Celtic tonight against FC Stjarnan after being named in Ronny Deila’s starting line-up for the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie.

The striker, signed from Dundee United six days ago, goes straight into the side as the hosts aim to move into pole position in Paradise ahead of the return leg in Iceland next week.

Fellow new Bhoy Dedryck Boyata also makes his bow, partnering Charlie Mulgrew in central defence. In-form Gary Mackay-Steven retains his place on the wing, having scored in each of the Hoops’ three pre-season games.

Kick off at Celtic Park is 7.45pm, and there will be live coverage of all the build up and action on the club’s official Twitter feed: @celticfc

    Tonight’s team:

CELTIC (4-2-3-1) Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Mulgrew, Izaguirre; Brown, Bitton; Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Armstrong; Ciftci

Subs: Ambrose, Stokes, Fisher, Griffiths, Rogic, Bailly, Forrest

Posting links is frowned upon as Paul gets pesters when it happens.

I see comments on the CQN Magazine Facebook accounts which have multiple links posted.

  4. Good evening friends from a very hot and disappointingly almost wifi-absent Nerja. CelticTV looking like a forlorn hope. So relying on CQN/Weans/Twitter for the ole regular updates.

    Rioja at the ready….

  5. 3 of the new ghuys in the squad, Janko odd man out plus Zig & Zag .With Forster replaced by Gordon. Lenny’s team being gradually dismantled.

We need a better striker. I worry about the next couple of rounds. At least we have Celtic Park this year. Very happy about Lustig. Cmon Celtic.

According to my boys at Celtic Park, Jo Hansen has been injured in the warm up. Someone stood on his foot.

    Boot off straight away.

    Wait…

Looks he’s going to be OK

  9. My friends in Celtic,

Looking forward to a convincing performance and result. If the strength of a team can be measured by its bench, then we are looking good.

We certainly have options which has not always been the case.

    COYBIG.

  10. Mulgrew is being played in his strongest position.

Given enough game time he will be one of our top performers again.

Summer football is definitely the way to go. Can’t help thinking Celtic are missing a trick though. Thousands milling around the Celtic Way with nowt much to do. On a night like this a watering hole with tables outside would do a roaring trade.

  12. Who’s the rangers giot in Europe this year, if can’t find those giants of the game listed
