Happy with that.Could have been more.Still not anywhere near up to speed,but some lovely play tonight.Their keeper had a few great saves,especially the penalty.That needs to be sorted.Not the 1st time its happened.
We will score there.They have to come out a bit.

Their GK made some really good saves as well as the penalty.

Some of the players barely seemed match fit in particular Biton.On the subject of penalties I was always taught never ever hit a ball at that height….if the keeper goes the right way he has a chance of saving it.

To be honest their keeper was probably MotM, nothing wrong with the Griffs penalty, well struck with pace keeper guessed right and got to it great save.
2-0 going on 6-0 still to be won on a crappy wee plastic pitch which is seemingly worse than Elfsborg, remember them.
Thought our passing let us down tonight,some of the players are nowhere near fitness yet. Broony and SA best for the Bhoys.

Pleased with performance, result flattered them. Hate to see players fighting over penalties…usually precedes a miss. It’s still mid-July and we’ll get sharper with games. Thought Ciftci did quite well on his debut.
You can have a first class save from a penalty but you will never see a first class penalty saved.

Happy with 2-0 in our first competitive match, 2 new players starting and no Virgil.
No bad for first competitive game of the season, shouldve been a wider margin but for some good goalkeeping and poor finishing. We’ll get better
Really think we ahould be trying more shots from the edge of the box against packed defences like this, and be ready for any rebounds

Pen- an ABSOLUTE disgrace that we witness a ‘geez MA baw’ argument. Feckin embarrassing. Sort it Ronnie. The players presumably know who taker is. The other player(s) should be fined.
we slag off sevco for lack of scouting – surely there must be players in mainland europe who could improve our team? we are desperate for a flair player , a player that can work some magic at the edge of the box. This team telegraphs every pass around the box – we need guile.
Sell forrest to lennon and use the money to get someone who can provide a killer call!
Decent result for our first competitive match. Still building match fitness and sharpness but by the time we face our next CL opponents we will be in much better shape. Clean sheet and but for their goalie it could have been 4 or 5. I’ll take that every week.

Pre game, two nil was my minimum objective. We got that and barring a total catastrophe it should be good enough to secure place in next round. It was our first competitive match of the season, we must have created 10 good scoring chances and also had a missed penalty. Yea would have liked a couple of more goals but we did OK and will have Virgil back for next game. Pass marks.
Who was it that missed a pen last season after an argument???

Don’t like summer football and a disappointing scoreline, with missed chances punctuating the ninety minutes. Nadir Ciftci’s brilliant take and turn set the tone on nine minutes but he hit it straight at the keeper, then Armstrong and Johansen all could have opened the floodgates early.
Pau67 did warn that there are no free lunches, even from Iceland
but a converted penalty would have put a better complexion on the tie, and if Celtic are to progress in Europe they are going to have to improve vastly as the competition gets tougher.
Thought Celtic to rush it, and we could have done with more involvement from midfield with maybe Bitton slowing the game down a bit and probing instead of pressing.
Not sure if it’s good or bad but forgot Charlie Mulgrew was playing till late on and wee Jamesie demonstrated why he is behind GMS for the starting berth. Major plus was Mikael Lustig playing for ninety minutes, a superb summer crowd, and Mick McManus on CTV.

Just one last comment before I go – I can’t believe that any true supporter would slag off the team based on the first competitive game.
Get a grip.
Armstrong aside I saw little that fills me with confidence that we will make it to the group stage. We will get thru to this round cos Stjarnan are crap but we could meet Lech Poznan, Malmoe or Partizan Belgrade who are all infinitely better than tonight’s opponents. We will really need a kind draw. With Forrest and Stokes, it’s same old same old. Get rid now.
Oh right, so all those shots on target the keeper got in the way of were all missed none of them were saved, well thats cleared that up
