  1. Who’ll be the next Celtic player to hit the booze after Idah?

Because of Rodgers and his exhausting brain-drain on a loop?

    HH

    oot.

  2. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Just saw Aberdeen are bottom of Conference League.

Well done Celtic – genuinely – for saving some face for the nation.

  3. Great team effort , this will turn the season round , well done Scalesy and Kieran best game by miles this season.

    HH

  4. Clunks

I take that victory as important

    Nothing stops the joy.

No joy for racist attention seekers

Celtic win these skanks sliver back under a stone

Hope all good down your way your old mucker will be back with more Rory at month end.

  5. Great result. And a great effort from the team. If only we had better finishers we’d have scored at least 5 tonight.

That was a fun read back though. So many on here screaming for Nygren to get hooked – before he scored the winner lol

And for those screaming for more subs – after we’d already stopped play on 3 occasions for subs – please learn the rules of football before making a fool of yourself

    😜

  6. Just home. Loved it tonight. Great effort from the team against a bit of adversity. Hopefully they will gain a lot from it.

2 newcomers to Cap with us tonight. Can’t usually get tickets. Loved it too.

A bit more hopeful for Sunday.

  7. i really really wish we were not in the same competition as thems

    however

our team could not have competied in the champions league.

    however

the blue meanies having bean statistically the worst ever champions league team are going for a unique double

  8. Great win. Well done everyone. Thought Kenny had a very good all-round game, just needs to get his finishing right and that might come with game time and a bit of specialist coaching. I wonder what the line-up will be for the Haerts game AJ and KI presumably out. Will CCV play (again) with injuries? Was Calum seriously injured tonight? Engels needs a run of games and Bernardo needs more game time. I have confidence in Colby Donovan and would start him, Engels, Bernardo and Kenny.

  9. Good Morning Fholks – Grand Day To Be A Tim,

Good gutsy performance last night, well deserved win.

The players really stepped up, heads could have dropped after SG got a worldie against the run of play but they kept at it.

Nygren and Kenny missing chance after chance but never hid.

    Calmac a real Captians game.

The whole team could be proud but my three for Jobo…

    1. Tounekti

    2. Engels

    3. Scales

Well done Brendan and the bhoys…

    Hail Hail

  10. Team gave us plenty of effort and desire

Celtic deserved the win, but it was never comfortable in paradise last night

4-3-3 still to ambitious having to shoehorn Nuyren into a right winger as BR conceded not his position

There are other tactical set ups

Scales a well deserved MOTH performance trampling over the stats men and doubters capping it all with a cool finish, Liam was closely followed by a true captains performance, both Callum and Liam left it all out on the pitch, Callum led by example, Engels delivery at corners was superb

Front 3 missed a barrowload of chances and wasted possession in final third, lacking composure and technicality, overplaying in final third is also needing addressed

In last Europa game against Braga we gifted time and space in midfield which gave opposition midfielder to pick his spot from 25-30 yards exposing our defensive weakness in the 4-3-3 and Scmeichael weakness deja vu

Sturm Graz not the strongest technical or physical side European side we have faced in recent years I will be surprised if they qualify for later stages of Europa

    Onwards to Sunday

Rodgers needs to get out of Tynecastle with at least a draw, a win would be a statement

Squad really being stretched now with injuries

Sturm Graz not the strongest side

  11. Well done Celtic, a hard fought Victory that SHOULD have brought more than TWO Goals for The Hoops.

The Victory was all the more merited considering a 1st Half that brought Two injuries and substitutions for Celtic and a wonder Goal from Sturm.

Liam Scales began the 2nd half fightback, with Benny Nygren and Seb Tounekti looking dangerous on a number of occasions.

NYGREN missed with a couple of headers, but he NEVER let his head go down and he just kept getting himself into great positions to try and score. Thankfully, BENNY BHOY headed the winning Goal.

Those BRENDAN HATERS on here MUST have been so happy at Half Time with Sturm leading One – Nil, and Celtic players getting injured early on.

I wonder ” HOW MUCH” Cash the Brendan haters had ON for a Sturm Graz victory last night with the Bookies.

In the end it was ” BRENDAN the CLOWN….(According to BURNLEY78) who was collecting his WINNINGS from the Bookies.

The Brendan Haters MUST have been cheering when Sturm Graz scored the opening Goal…Celtic Men….MY ARSE !

    HH.

  12. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Fantastic result, especially to come from behind.

Tempo and intent was there from the first whistle.

Hopefully our season started last night 👏👏👏

  13. I posted yesterday that the game against Sturm Graz was maybe a game that Celtic could do without, especially with the Hertz waiting for us this Sunday….?

Sadly, we are now faced with the prospect of facing the Mini Huns with a weakened squad after the Celtic injuries last night…NOT forgetting the ENERMOUS EFFORT that Celtic put in last night as we dont have much time to recover.

I hope to be proved WRONG….but the Injuries added to the GREAT EFFORT that the Celtic players put in against Sturm Graz last night MAY ” Take its Toll ” come the Hearts game ?

I will still be cheering on The CELTS and BRENDAN on Sunday lunchtime…UNLIKE some on here. !

    HH.

  14. Agree we had to did in last night, other than the wonder strike their pressure was from set pieces.

We will face the same on Sunday both their CHs are scoring from headers, the Greek on their left cuts in and can cross a ball he can also if given space shoot for the back post so on him tight and make him play with his left foot.

Braga is 2 footed and quick and has made a difference to them, their midfield is devlin baningime, so we can take them in there, a draw would be ok a win excellent considering our lack of options and injuries. Will need to battle throughout though.

  15. Brilliant effort by the team, real fighting spirit. Perhaps stung by the manager’s criticism, perhaps showing they are still behind him; perhaps both.

Callum immense, so too Tierney. Engels had his best game and Hatate worked like a dog and showed real vision (for those who criticise him, wait till he’s gone and notice the gap).

Tounekti a nightmare for the defenders, Nygren and Kenny always showing, and getting in position. Kenny needs a run. I really like him – seems to have more game intelligence than Idah.

All round great stuff. Let’s hope it’s the start of a BR turnaround. I’ll bet McInnes isn’t smiling so widely this morning – let’s take all the chances we missed last night, at Tynecastle.

  16. Good point Dessy – Hertz middies are Devlin who is just a wee pest and limited and Benigame who is decent but not great or overly mobile. We shouldn’t be afraid of them but maybe need to match them up. Small pitch and need some physicality – start Bernardo so 3 middies Cal, Arne Paulo instead of Reo and bring swap them last 25 or so…

  17. Interviewer last night was right in there re the Sunday comments (as you would expect) and thought Brendan handled it well – “sometime you have to be blunt to be clear” and “these are men in here and you have to be tough”

Spot on – I think we have imagined a scenario where players are all wallflowers teetering on the edge of a breakdown if someone looks at them the wrong way. They are men, professional highly paid athletes working in a tough unforgiving environment and sometimes the boots and the criticism is flying. If they can’t take it I don’t think they would have made it this far in their careers – so this “under a bus” shite is in my view bollocks and last night proved it.

  18. Around 5.30 last night, the Glesga Polis were ” Kettling” hundreds of Sturm Graz fans right outside my living room window.

The Sturm fans were mostly dressed in ALL BLACK and quite noisey, but I did wonder WHY the Polis had them walk thru a quiet wee side street just off The SALTMARKET on their way to Celtic Park ?

I did spot 2 or 3 very pretty FRAULIENS amongst the Sturm Fans…

That cheered me up a wee bit.

    LOL

    HH.

  19. Tom McLaughlin on 23rd October 2025 10:30 pm

I bet Celtic to win 2-1 @ 17/2. Even at 0-1 the victory was never in doubt as far as I was concerned.

    Well done the Celtic.

    ………….

    Well done TO BHOY.

    Glad you beat the Bookie.

    HH Mate.

  20. Can’t agree on Devlin being a weakness.

He is exactly the type that we are missing .

I a wee fighting dervish in the middle of the park .

    TT

  21. Whilst delighted with our comeback last night.

I don’t see Donovan coping with Braga, or us coping with them at set pieces.

Their two centre halves will cope with our aerial attacks ,and hurt us in our box .

Shankland is also better than Kenny.

I hope that I am wrong ,but I just can’t see us winning there, and we will have to carry our luck to avoid defeat .

  22. Bhoys Town on 24th October 2025 9:15 am

Jimmy, maybe they were looking for betting tips?

    ………….

Naw mate…the Pretty Frauliens were asking for my Phone Number…

    I just shouted….” NEIN,NEIN, NEIN” !

    LOL

    HH.

  23. The Battered Bunnet on

    A few thoughts from last night’s match…

Whoever approved Johnson to play should be getting their jotters today.

Three hamstring injuries (Maeda, Iheanacho and Johnson again) inside a week suggests both that the squad is working at the edge of recovery, and negligent sports science.

Take a bow Liam Scales, I’m not his greatest fan but he delivered a performance last night. More please.

Nygren heading a ball is a random number generator.

Our finishing generally is hapless. Slow it down, guys. Finishing is deliberate, not random. See point above.

We’re in a right pickle now with injuries. Worst thing we might do is rush Maeda back to cover at striker. See first point above.

    Enter the Shin.

    Let’s see.

  24. Must admit did not know about this three action substitution rule in UEFA matches. Doesn’t seem fair on teams who lose two players early doors to injuries. Less said about the nature of the injuries the better, apart from the fact they open up opportunities for others. We’ve still got two right backs in Tony and Calvin and while not getting a goal Jonny Kenny showed that he offers movement in and around the final third. Should also force Brendan to bring Shin Yamada back from exile. Hope CCV is okay but if not we have Trusty, Murray and a certain young CB on loan from Man City, Pusey-Simpson, good luck to all of them if they are in the squad, at least for the SPL.

  25. It was great to see forward passing last night….not every pass was successful but that’s to be expected….

Forward passing equals a faster tempo…great to watch…

  26. I get that Hearts have a few good players, but ours are simply better – technically on a different level. All the hype takes me back to 1986 when they Mita won the league and Mita won the cup, as the old joke went.

We have just been under-performing. If they attack us on Sunday and we play like we did last night I think we will take them to pieces.

    (But what do I know?!)

  27. Thought Brendan’s comments on our players being men was quite telling.

You’d think going by some of the reactions to his Honda comments that our players were teenagers suffering from PTSD.

They all stood up last night. Exactly the reaction BR was looking for. Onwards to Sunday, men.

  28. I’m sure the Celtic Christmas video will have a segment with Big Ben running towards the camera , something goofy will happen and the big fella will automatically put both hands on his head with a look of shear bemusement.

Good to know that all the bollocks of the last month ( failure to CL qualify) is behind us and the players are fully behind the manager and vice versa.

On last nights display Kieran and Seb will have too much for Hearts defence at the weekend. Scales had a terrific game last night getting rid off the ball quickly (2touches) and sticking to the basics.

  29. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Good morning CQN …

… and a fine one it is.

Great chat last night and this morning.

Good to see CQN bursting at the seams.

    On to Sunday.

Point has been made already in a few ways.

Hearts are a team … of largely ordinary players with one or two (max) good ones … who are playing well and close to their best statistically.

Celtic are a team … of largely good players with one or two (max) ordinary ones … who are not playing well and close to their best statistically.

But we played well last night and much of that was about endeavour rather than technique.

So why shouldn’t we go to Tynecastle and win?
