Only saw the highlights but was impressed by Kenny’s energy and positioning.
Maybe invite Henrik over for a couple of weeks to coach him (and Nygren) in the art of the subtle finish.

So much good about last night.
Engels corners
Engels growing into the jersey
Nygren keeping going when it wasn’t working and also growing into the jersey.
Tounekti and KT and Hatate working better.
KT best game yet since return.
Baliwishaw loooking like he has something.
Donavan grew into it and showing the jersey might fit.
Kenny may work if he gets a break and allows himself to believe.
Cal really did own it.
Scales was immense in my view.
The support stayed with the team really brilliantly. Apart from those who seem to have to fk off early for some reason at a critical time.
A few Bad.
Not sure we should not be changing the goalie. The Fin has more to offer now and long term.
The multiple injuries at a key time. ESP AJ.
Shin (who has Ferrari esque pace) has been jettisoned when we might now need him.
CCV seems to be carrying an injury or taking a tractor. He did put a shift in despite this.
Definitely happier than 24 hours ago. Even more so as the govan lot are still the champions league level of destroying themselves compared to us.

We’ve got a real smorgasbord of talents sometimes in the wrong places, it’s a challenge to perm a consistently successful team from these parts.
Nygren has great movement in the box, he’s probably our most consistent for getting in scoring areas but his finishing needs to improve, which I think will happen. He’s not going to work as a winger, he’s too slow and struggles to take on a man. Last night I saw a lot of running straight at the fullback and just hoping the ball bounces right for him.
Kenny has tons of energy, his running and closing down was close to Maeda levels. His ability to find a supporting player and lay-off the ball needs to improve though, notwithstanding a couple of times last night when he broke and there was no one to support.
Hatate is a conundrum, some of his passing is terrible and gets us into trouble. However I can understand why managers consistently play him, some games when we’re struggling for a breakthrough out of nowhere he’ll find a crossfield pass, or a deft chip into the box which opens a chance.
I thought Tierney had a good game and linked well with Tonekti, he’s definitely capable of more as his last few games at Arsenal and early Celtic games proved. Rumours of his premise are greatly exaggerated, as they say. After laying off to Tonekti he often comes inside, which works well but could become predictable. I’d like to see him go outside Tonekti occasionally, something Saracchi does to good effect.
Engels for me is our most rounded player, he does a lot of thing well but nothing (currently) outstanding. Engels is a player with the potential to really take off if he can work on one or two areas to take them up a notch. At times last night when I watched Engels curl in a perfect corner and Nygren gain the space to head for goal, I wondered if this is the combo we need to work on and unlock the goal potential. Unfortunately as Engels and Nygren have been viewed as too similar it’s a combo that’s had little chance to flourish thus far.

Braga doesn’t play wide left its the Greek kyzaridis

Playing AJ in a high stakes game with zero minutes under his belt since serious injury was madness. We desperately need to strengthen squad depth so that the temptation doesn’t arise again.

Nygren got on the end of numerous chances in front of goal, so I’m happy to leave him out right for now.
He’s our most dangerous player at the moment, if he starts converting a few more then alls golden

I think this is a really good point Tim.
A better striker than Kenny would have scored a brace easily last night.
Here comes the ‘but’.
He’s still young ( just turned 22 )
There were at least 8 occasions last night when he either
– arrived at the ball but couldn’t finish
– was late by a whisker
– was a yard away from a cross
He’s a good hustler too. Leaves his foot in.
Witness his steal and good shot from narrow angle soon after he came on.
On the calmness angle – agree.
There’s a problem within the modern game and a bigger problem at Celtic.
Recurring bug bear of mine which I might prattle on about later.

Decent Euro victory but a few getting a bit carried away with our performance last night , our defending at set pieces is diabolical , we are far to easily opened up with a single forward pass from the opposition that causes havoc and panic within our defence , there is not a single player in the team that can take a decent direct free kick (if we ever get one) still far too many misplaced passes and over passing at the back even KS was coming out of his box to take part in the square passing.
Must not lose game this Sunday.

RC – agree we should keep it real and not get ahead of ourselves .. and I hear your concerns.
There’s a truth though that we should not lose sight of.
Because we’ve been eliminated from the Champions League …
.. we won’t come up against a really brilliant, top team until April ’26 … and that’s a big IF that assumes we reach the last 8 of the Europa League.
Our opposition over the next 5 months ain’t the cream.
