    I hope sparky is truly over his injury as we are relying on him heavily tonight.Brendan saying Dembele going no where unless we have a replacement and currently we dont have a replacement. So a huge night for Celtic while there is turmoil in the background. We seemed so far away from any other club last season that seems a life time ago the next two games are huge and will show what kind of season we are likely to have.H.H.

    Bit of brinkmanship by the looks of it over Dembele. £15m is a lot of money but given the outcry not enough for the board to say “we had to sell”. Looks like the €25m wasn’t on the table but is what it will take.

     

     

    This window has been horrible, I can see it getting worse. Its been the perfect storm of poor management, lack of planning and ambition and bids coming in unsettling the spine of our team. Whatever happens its going to take some good man management to get the players working towards a shared goal.

    Am I missing something here. For past week I’ve read nothing only guys telling us that Celtic only care about amassing a cash pile and Lawell would sell his granny if he could.

    Really just how mush have we banked and spent (nett) during window? No idea but guess that BR has said no fecking way to selling DB and MD unless suitable replacements are on their way – which they aren’t. BR, I suspect, Is not one to play who will blink first with.

    it does suggest that BR is likely not happy with how PL is doing business … what manager would be happy to lose his best player, and not have a replacement ready?

     

     

    we all but had him sold yesterday … presumably the player was happy going to a bigger league, on much bigger wages …and PL was happy to let him go … but BR wasn’t happy because there was no replacement …

     

     

    now, we tell the player ‘sorry, deal’s off because we weren’t prepared and cant bring in a replacement, so you”re going nowhere ‘…

     

     

    now, if MD stays, we likely have an unhappy player on our hands… and, it seems, a growing rift between PL and BR…

    eltic have rejected a second offer from Lyon today for French striker Moussa Dembélé, sources tell Get French Football News.

     

     

    The French youth international, whose current deal runs until 2020, at this rate could be one of a number of the Scottish champions’ bright talents to be blocked from seeking pastures new, where a better quality of European football is offered.

     

     

    Fellow Frenchman Olivier Ntcham indicated a strong desire to quit the club after failure to qualify for the Champions’ League, with FC Porto making a number of bids, but Celtic blocked him too.

     

     

    Ntcham is so resigned to not being able to acquire a move and thus the quality of football that he feels he needs to take the next step, that sources tell Get French Football News that he will sign an extension with the Scottish champions with a wage rise, which he sees as his only option.

     

     

    A similar situation has faced central defender Dedryck Boyata this summer, who had an initial offer from Lyon, but was barred from leaving Celtic.

     

     

    Boyata too is resigned to remaining at the club, despite receiving offers from Champions’ League playing outfits and having served the Scottish club well for three years.

     

     

    Celtic’s recruitment policy has been nothing short of exceptional in recent seasons, but now they face the uncomfortable reality of trying to hold on to players whose talent necessitates that they play for Europe’s elite clubs in the top European competition every year, which is now something that the Scottish champions cannot offer. The summer transfer window closes tomorrow.

     

     

    This is potentially a watershed window for Celtic, as the excellent young players they bring in year on year from France and elsewhere might think twice about joining if they cannot move on when they feel that the time is right.

    No advantage no guessing. To date we have spent the equivalent of heehaw in bringing players. Someone mentioned thus far a net spend of £1 mill with a lot of money being banked.
