  1. Why spend for the sake of spending?

    Old board mantra.

Spending big doesn’t guarantee success. Just ask Pepe.

  2. Did I curse the game? Just switched on in time to see a Cantwellesque dive for a penalty.

It’s the man not the price. Don’t get this at all. Hatate and Ajeti.

    The man

    KLV

  4. Hoffenheim were 2 up against the Huns but believe it or not they just got another penalty. Usual goal for Taverner.

  5. A good run out, with some encouraging signs today.

Overall I’m happy but we need more depth in defence.

  6. well done celtic – loads of commitment and pace, scrappy game BR looks like he’s got a lot of things he wants to work on

    Good game for us

Without our regular centre halves we did very well

    As did scales

Wee Jamsie’s testimonial and we can get on with defending our treble

  8. Decent performance against a better team than we’ll face domestically this season.

Bigger picture, would like us to be stronger in depth.

Seems rather incongruous to make stock market announcement whilst arguably being no better than last season. My opinion only. Others are available

I know he gets a lot of practice but Tavernier does seem to have a good record from the spot.

  10. Plethora of subs made the game meaningless as always ina Pre-season friendly.

2 Koreans looked up for it, .

i’m wondering who will be Brendans Boyata

  11. When I watched the you tube video of our new Korean cm, I noticed out of 30 tackles, every one was with his right foot. Today I thought both the new Korean boys looked good. Our new cm won’t be bullied and that’s a fact. Lovin it

  12. Nothing of a 2nd half really. Can’t be easy for the new guys to step into that and up against a big athletic side, we always seem to look a bit small and frail.

We need better quality, and in BR window 1, we need 4. I genuinely don’t care if that offends some. We need some of those in the first 11 to be replaced/benched. We have the money, go spend it Celtic.

Always happy to debate. Won’t see eye to eye always and that’s ok.

Will continue to call out the resident troll, if I have to.

I agree with you Hot Smoked. Spending big doesn’t buy success.

    ====================

    Outstanding gag mate.

    That had me laughing.

  14. what we need is bigger players, at least costing 7 million each.

kyogos lack of height was telling today.

and greg taylor was saved by the back post.

    and joe hart is finished

and that team wont do anything in europe.

and so on and so forth and forever on repeat.

    blah blah blah

  15. Enjoyed game, plenty to be pleased about.

Penalty very soft, chances at both ends but result means feck all.

I certainly hope we keep Scales thought he did well and is not afraid to get retribution.

I really like Joe Hart but he made a lot of errors out there, we got away with it today but on another day it could be really costly.

Last 20 minutes was hard to judge anyone as all the changes disrupted game,

IMO We need a top Keeper and at least 2 more defenders, 3 if Starfelt loves Jaycintha more than Celtic.

  16. Big Wavy

Agree that we continue to lack physicality. Especially in Europe, where we are likely to be bullied.

We may read posts of specific players, who are slight yet exceptional. However, as a squad, I’d like more strength

  17. 28,000 is indeed a decent crowd. We have a faithful fanbase, but in Ireland there is no doubt it is shrinking.

If Man Utd or Liverpool were featuring it would have been a sell out. There is little doubt of that.

Domestic football in Scotland will not raise our profile, but a good sustained European run will.

As for branding in world football. Wolves are 32 and we are 42 in the world.. Not a great difference considering respective monies.

Hail hail to all and especially to those attendees today.

PS : How good a speaker and ambassador for Celtic is Callum McGregor these days.

  18. ….e gators love affair with Roofe….what has he done to deserve it?….

  19. I think Brendan should hold on to Liam Scales ,good addition for the team ,noticed he didn’t sub Joe Hart ,tells what he thinks of the other 2 goalkeepers,so it looks like another goalkeeper is a priority,

  20. 60 minutes, great game, then we have usual influx of subs that totally disrupts the match.

Scales was excellent as was Iawata. Thought Taylor was too easily beaten.

Great the see McGregor getting more freedom to move forward, top class.

Maeda, Kyogo and Hatate bullied the epl team.

Good game also for a renewed Abada.

Haksa was very good in the short time he was on.

I like the physical presence of the new signings .

All in all, a really good workout, spoiled by Doherty’s cheating.
