I get it that you really believe `We need better quality, and in BR window 1, we need 4`. but I don`t think anyone is `offended ` by that.
Where I find fault in your view is that it SEEMS to imply that buying quality players ie better than we currently have, is a simple process. It also assumes, I think, that those players will be a guaranteed success .
My own view is that the players we have are doing as well as we can truly expect in a football world defined by ridiculous wealth,

Positives today from Kyogo, Shakespeare, Haksa, Abada.
So many subs from both sides really impacted the flow and game largely petered out

Imo and for what it is worth.
Covid proved that we need to keep a certain amount of money for a rainy day.
————————–
Most clubs operate on a managable debt scenario in order to get the best players on the park, pre and post covid.
Can you tell me any that went to the wall that didnt keep money back for the scenario you mentioned?
As Ange said, its pointless having money in the bank if the product on the park needs improved.
Scales for captain, player of the year and future legendary manager

Hi everyone GG at 5.30 on the video below taken Late last year when we were playing with the drones at Celtic park .Missed every day . Will be having a beer for him in jinkys bar in albufeira later for him
I’m biased of course but I thought that man for man we seem to have a better squad than Wolves on today’s performance. Hope Starfelt isn’t for the off; if he is, I think we should hold on to Scales who certainly didn’t seem out of place this afternoon.

Thanks for that. He even LOOKS like a great guy ! A bit like Santa Claus !
Fantastic support for Celtic in a rearranged friendly, much better game than expected and another step towards full fitness. Thought Stephen Welsh and Liam Scales did very well, important today when looking for a partner for Carl Starfelt with Mick Nawrocki and CCV both injured. Game was broken up as BR said in the second half changes. Kwon will catch the eye of Scottish referees if he hasn’t already, O’Riley had a fine game and Kyogo outed class.
Well done to the Hoops fans from Glasgow that got there for the KO via Belfast.
Judging by your posts, I don`t think I have met a Celtic supporter quite lke you.

When the need arose we were in a position to tell the SG thanks but no thanks to their 20 year Covid loan.
We owe them nothing and can act totally independent.
As for the old / new club who reside at the spooky Greyskull.
If our fiscal management replicated theres; Do you think we would have received the same favourable outcome ?
Only my opinion but we need a certain amount of prudence to guarantee our ” future”
Buy smart coach smart, train smart, scout smart and plan smart is the answer. Not trying to compete in a crazy doped transfer market.
Controversially, spend the money on AI to scout and assist our training.
Cheers and HH.

Could you explain how having the money in the bank, accounts prove this, and spending it to bring in a better quality of player which could help us compete better in champions league, is putting the club at risk?
Tommy Joad on
Afternoon !!
All in all that was really encouraging with all the usual pre season friendly caveats etc…..
Welsh and Scales looked balanced, comfortable, positionally sound. An absolute bonus that I did not expect.
There was never a doubt, but Calmac is EPL quality all day long. The pass for Kyogo’s chip that hit the bar, his passing, short and long is tremendous. He’d be perfect for a club like Wolves, thankfully we have him.
I love GT, tenacious, great attitude, technically decent, seems like a leader. But at top level (EPL, CL), all the wingers can fly. He is quick enough, but not rapid and the best wingers go past him. Difficult one because Bernabei is a sprinter but very raw.
Front three looked so dangerous in the first 30 minutes and we could have had four or five goals.
Reo is outrageously talented, still with a propensity to lose the ball in dangerous areas, he has incredible potential but not the finished article by any means.
Enjoyable game !
Onwards.

How much do you want to spend. ? Do you anticipate competing with Wolves for example.
I have given you my answers. Abada, Jota, KOK , VVD
Moussa Lubo, Billy Stark even is the way forward. However transfer fees are relative and I’ve every confidence in Mark Lawwell and his team.

Tommy Joad on
I should of course have mentioned Kyogo.
Twice before his goal, he was in, but O’Riley and / or Abada didnt see him.
His agility, nimbleness and movement is like nothing I have ever seen. Except for King Henrik.
I’m not a golfer but Calmac’s pass was like a perfect approach to green from fairway, Kyogo’s touch is immaculate and he clips it onto the bar. If that goes in it is a goal of the season, dont care if its a friendly !
Approaching his prime years, he is pure velvet. A stick on become the 30th celt with 100 plus goals

how much did wolves pay for that squad ? and would you take any of their players to improve celtics chances in europe ?
anyone ?

Definitely.
I’d happily take half a dozen of them.
Honestly mate, football isn’t for you if you couldn’t see that.
