  1. Don’t think I’ve seen Brendan celebrate a goal like that before. Also loved big Kris Ajer’s reaction to winning a throw in and Charly’s solo celebration in front of the main stand

  2. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

Went to the game more in hope than expectation,no failures every

man did his duty, big Ollie MOTM.

  3. Bognor bhoy

Indeed he did. Not long said the same thing to my lads. His work on the touchline, keeping retention with quick feet, was wonderful.

Then his energy to make the run, then control of a difficult ball, all capped with superb vision and final ball.

Calum applies the finish Charley’s ingenuity deserved.

  4. Neg good to see you on.

Celtic should be a source of joy to us all. God knows life is tough enough without all doom & gloom about football.

I’m one Happy Happy Tim tonight,

Lee-ann Dempster must have known that Eck was going to get the scotch gig. How’s that for a vote of confidence ?

*naw she’s just waiting for the sevco job when the serious profession gets the sugar lump

  6. Neil Lennon & McCartney on

Terrific performance from every player ~ fantastic teamwork.

Well done Brendan & his Bhoys ~ and the best supporters in the world!

  7. Watched the game on BT in the pub. Then watched the highlights show. Martin Keown couldn’t have been more disinterested than the French guy in the studio who talked us up big time.

  8. Not a failure to be found in green and white tonight. Everyone played their part in what was a great night and importantly a deserved victory. Zenit are no mugs, they won their group and scored plenty but were comprehensibly swept aside.

Where do you start in praising the players? Well lets get the main man out of the way first, BROONIE, absolutely colossal. That is all. Dembele was back to somewhere near his best, Ntcham was brilliant as was Callum and Kris Ajer who just gets better every time i see him. Kouassi did a great job in an unnatural role, he was a wee bit lucky with that tackle i think but i haven’t seen it again. Jozo and Lustig were more like their old selves too. Wee Charly made the difference, lets hope it’s the start for him and he kicks on. Edouard done us a great turn when he came on, i really like him and hope we can sort something out to get him back next season.

Credit to Brendan for masterminding the whole thing, it was great to watch and i never felt we were in any danger.

The squad is starting to fill out and will get stronger in the coming weeks. This could be the catalyst for the rest of our season. I loved all of the players celebrating the goal in the way they did, it showed a real togetherness. Looking at that bench tonight and the players to come back in, there are no excuses now, we need to kick on from here.

    MotM – Scott Brown

  9. Scott Brown’s contribution to Celtic has been fantastic. What an engine for a guy in the twilight of his career.

I truly hope when he hangs the boots up, there’s a role for him at CP.

His passion for the hoops would rub off on every player, young or old, at CP

  10. We’ve got our mojo back (not that wee bastard) hopefully Bhoys kick on from this excellent performance.hh

  11. lets all do the huddle on

Thanks feck Calmac hit that with his weaker foot :-)

    —-

thats what i dont like about calmac.

    he’s too right footed!!

  12. TWISTS N TURNS

The whole move was a joy to watch … and the more I watch it the joyer ;-) it becomes.

And the finish was superb …

    Good night tims…

  13. VFR800 is now a Monster 821 on

For those who asked, as far as I know it should mean we will be seeded in the qualifiers. Figures should be updated tomorrow so I’ll check then.

  14. TET as I am sure many on the blog will confirm I am the very best at making an arse out of myself.

Charley also made an arse out of me this evening.

Can we now turn this form into our domestic games now? Please?

  15. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

  16. Eck getting the Scotland job just confirms how pathetic the sfa are. They want to help, him play his back taxes. He is a shambles.

  17. THE EXILED TIM on 15th February 2018 10:58 pm

Tanner asked Callum was he tempted to head the cross!!!!!!

  18. My only complaint tonight would be the GB starting a ‘huddle’ when the game was still very much in the balance. It’s only half time in the tie. Amateurs. Hh

  19. Yessssssssssss

Just in from the game. We played ike Champions

    Got it taped.

    Gonna watch it again.

  20. glendalystonsils on

Just imagine……….that £30 million Pete’s got in his biscuit tin could have bought us 50% of the substitute Zenit brought on tonight.

    Makes ya think, eh?

  21. Didn’t see that coming at all!

Brilliant performance all round – not a failure on the park. We looked like the team of last season again – fast, strong, aggressive, inventive. Zenit looked shell-shocked.

Particular praise should go to: Ajer (EPL class already); Kieran (heart of a lion); Brown (best midfielder in the country by a country mile); Kouassi (love his style) Ntcham (solid); Moussa (unplayable at times) and Callum (brilliant take for the goal)

Charly and Edouard also showed well in their cameos, and even the much maligned Lustig and Jozo were good.

Loved it. Might not win this trophy, but we’re back in the game!

  22. glendalystonsils on

Somebody posted earlier that this was the same Celtic team people were slating after Saturday.

I can tell you ,that was NOT the same Celtic team.

Same personnel, different team. We don’t need £xxxmillion signings, we just need the ones we’ve got playing like that.

  23. GreeninbingleyinOslo on

Just in from watching in Oslo.

Magnificent performance! That’s the way I love to see the Celtic play.

Bossed them from start to finish; Mancini couldn’t have complained if it had been 3.

Well done Brendan and the Bhoys. Very very happy tonight. And cold.

  24. Dena

I heard that, any footy pundit with an ounce of savy would have known that heading the ball wasn’t an option, wtf are BT thinking about employing him, no need to answer that, they need the hun pound, pathetic.

    HH

    NA2

Problem we have is the domestic games are controlled differently, the oppo gets away with assaulting our players, europe for all they have a problem with the small clubs is a dream to play in compared to sectarian land…..else our domestic form would be…..

    HH

  25. There was not a better player than Calum on that pitch tonight.

Owned the first half and his goal in 2nd half was sublime.

He played in his natural position tonight. We all saw the result.

Build a team? Aye, round him. His understanding with other quality Celts, such as Forrest is where I want to be.

Otherwise, let’s spend **£26 million on a striker….like Zenit did and then blame someone for getting it wrong.

    You with me Neg/BMCUW?
