Celtic vindicated

1145

Yesterday’s decision by the SFA’s Judicial Panel, which ruled that Josh Meekings could not be subject to retrospective action as the referee saw the contentious incident on Sunday contradicted the initial official version of events, and totally vindicated Celtic asking for clarification of the incident.

I’ve not had a chance to read through all the apologies from those who used their platforms to criticise the club, but I’ll set aside an hour to do so later.  Keep an eye on the very personal attacks on Peter Lawwell.  There are people at Hampden who don’t like his influence.

It’s never good to get ahead of yourself, and it would be foolish to assume too much ahead of our visit to Tannadice tomorrow, but I hope the Highlanders take a point against Aberdeen today.  Winning the title would be a great way to start a holiday weekend.

Loving the narrative coming out of Ibox at the moment.  It appears they haven’t even applied for membership of the ISDX yet as they haven’t found an advisor yet.  I assume that’s the fault of the Easdales.  Or the BBC.  Or Celtic.  Or maybe it’s the Pope of Rome!

What a shower.  You know how this story ends….

nakasammi-numerous honest mistakes over the years, but those 2 decisions are up there with the worst.HH

  2. I just want to say thanks to TBB for his contribution @12.33. Says it all really.

Would to say thanks to Joe O’Rourke too for writing to Regan what every Celtic fan knows is true. It is scurrilous that we have been so badly treated for so long. And they’re still at it, making up their story as they go along.

Peter Lawell, you have my support. I know you are faced with an impossible task trying to deal with the cheats and bigots at Hampden.

By the way, did Ogilvie or any of the other custodians of our national stadium ever explain why the seating colours are red, white and blue? Scotland’s colours are dark blue and white and Queens Park’s black and white. Always irks me that does.

  3. I’m not sure if I’ve made my mind up on PL being on the SFA board.

Huns don’t like it, and ex Huns don’t like it.

Should we Boycott UEFA competitions as Well..?

So Hughes is saying the handball was unintentional, but said it WAS a penalty?

Wonder if his team will be up for the game today or if they will be in Sevco League Cup mode……,

That’s my point mate, you have to renew by the 26th April. The only ones that can do this are those able to pay up front by visiting T.O. or online.

Website states renewal packs being posted out from Monday 27th April.

They did see the incident but not the handball. But the handball is the incident! Without the handball there is no incident.

Would love to see Willie Miller in some role at the SFA. Talks common sense, wants rules applied and no inconsistencies.

I’m not sure if a member club can refuse to play in the Scottish Cup.

Did ManU, when they went to play in S, America, require a dispensation from the FA to withdraw from that year’s competition?

A boycott of Hampden and all their works and pomps would send a message.

    ——————-

The FA asked Man U to play in that tournament, it was part of their failed World Cup bid.

Boycotting is the only answer but you’ll never get Celtic fans to agree to that despite the complaints and moans.

I thought I was the only one that has had zilch from the ticket office, after seeing Lennybhoys post it’s put my mind at ease.

I’m still swithering to renew or go pay as you go, due to the amount of games I miss.

I’ll renew my son and daughters though.

  14. I don’t expect ICT to kick a ball between now & the final, even in the last game against us.

    Maybe they’ll prove me wrong.

    We’ll see.

Unintentional handful…just gets more and more insulting.

    Anyway, when’s the referees’ strike?

“contradicted the initial official version of events”

    ————–

So, if the initial version was that the referee and assistant could not see what happened because they were obstructed by Leigh Griffiths, how could the assistant have seen it hitting his face?

Seriously though. Going back 26 years to find a dodgy decision tells its own story. I hope it haunts Valentine every day.

  25. I’m pretty sure I remember Wee Joe being interviewed after the ’89 final, and saying he had bet himself to score the first goal.

When asked how much he had won, he said:

    “Tenner at 10/1. . . .don’t know”.

Sipsini-still disgusted and disillusioned like a lot on here, but the pull of going to support the team is too much, so I will renew.I would support an organised boycott of a SC tie, I thought Cowiebhoy’s idea was good, only have about 500-1000 inside to have a vocal presence, the rest of us could meet up and get kettled probably.HH
