Celtic vindicated

1145

Yesterday’s decision by the SFA’s Judicial Panel, which ruled that Josh Meekings could not be subject to retrospective action as the referee saw the contentious incident on Sunday contradicted the initial official version of events, and totally vindicated Celtic asking for clarification of the incident.

I’ve not had a chance to read through all the apologies from those who used their platforms to criticise the club, but I’ll set aside an hour to do so later.  Keep an eye on the very personal attacks on Peter Lawwell.  There are people at Hampden who don’t like his influence.

It’s never good to get ahead of yourself, and it would be foolish to assume too much ahead of our visit to Tannadice tomorrow, but I hope the Highlanders take a point against Aberdeen today.  Winning the title would be a great way to start a holiday weekend.

Loving the narrative coming out of Ibox at the moment.  It appears they haven’t even applied for membership of the ISDX yet as they haven’t found an advisor yet.  I assume that’s the fault of the Easdales.  Or the BBC.  Or Celtic.  Or maybe it’s the Pope of Rome!

What a shower.  You know how this story ends….

Almost to a man the Scottish football writers decry our game. They rarely talk it up and in particular they do not like the most successful Scottish club. Healthy examination and analysis of the game is good, and we would all welcome that, but as many of them cannot face the uncomfortable truths they attack us for questioning. They ignore the shambles that is the governance of our game and the fact that one club in particular are looked after as best as they can.

Since last week they have all been on message and once again we are labelled as supporters with a mental illness. Our money is what is keeping their game and employment afloat. Time to bite back.

My worry is that by the time we get to next season’s Scottish Cup some of our anger will have dissipated and any attempt boycott might fall flat. We need identify where we can hit the SFA quickly and where it hurts. They have many sponsors as can be seen on their website,

I know the zombies attempted to boycott William Hills in 2012 when they deluded themselves the SFA were against their new club. It came to nothing because they are a disorganised rabble. We on the other hand have a much better track record and a boycott of all or some of the SFA sponsors would have an immediate impact. I know Joe O’Rourke from the CSA was talking about bringing together the various fans groups to consider our options.
