‘CELTIC WANT BRANDON,’ AGENT

BRANDON MECHELE’S agent has confirmed Celtic are keen to sign the Brugge central defender.

The SPFL champions made an enquiry for the 22-year-old in
April, but the Belgian outfit won’t sell their star asset until after their Champions League qualifiers against Manchester United.

However, Mechele’s agent, Guy Bonny, has revealed Hoops boss Ronny Deila remains interested in signing his £3million-rated client.

He said: “I know Celtic’s interest is concrete, but I have not yet been officially contacted by the club.

“I wouldn’t have thought Brugge would be inclined to do any business while they have games against Manchester United to come.

“And they have an injury to their defender Bjorn Engles, too, which may further complicate matters.

“I think we will know more in the next few days.”

Michele is likely to face Manchester United in the first leg of their ChampionsLeague play-off at Old Trafford on Tuesday and in Belgium in the return the following Wednesday.
