FORMER Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic was stunned by Celtic’s performance in their 1-0 victory over Zenit St Petersburg.

The Serbian international watched from the substitutes’ bench as Parkhead rocked on Thursday night.

Ivanovic admitted: “Celtic were great, I was really surprised by them. They played very well. They were compact, aggressive, a very good team.

“We’ll have to change a lot of things to be on top of the game next week in Russia.

“Celtic are probably favourites, but we still believe. Of course, they have more chance of going through after winning 1-0 at home.

“It was a very interesting game and the atmosphere was amazing in Glasgow.

“The tie is not over yet. This time we’ll be in our stadium, in front of our fans, so we’ll be doing everything to try and go through.

“Zenit will be a different team in St Petersburg. We’ll be more confident and we’ll have had an extra week’s training, so, hopefully, we will be ready.”
