CELTIC WILL CONSIDER GRIFFITHS BOOKING APPEAL

CELTIC will consider appealing Leigh Griffiths’ crazy booking during the 2-0 win over Linfield in Belfast on Friday night.

Ropy Spanish ref Alejandro Hernandez flashed the yellow card at the Hoops striker when he was forced to delay taking a corner-kick after being targeted by louts who pelted him with missiles, including a bottle.

Brendan Rodgers may decide the club should ask UEFA to investigate the incident, especially as the baffling caution could lead to a ban for the player later in the competition.

Asked if the club would look into the possibility of having the decision reversed, the Parkhead boss replied: “We may do. It’s one that I haven’t overly looked at.

“It’s something I will speak with the club on – if there is that possibility depending on the report of the referee.

“It did seem a bit strange with the provocation and him ending up booked and how dangerous it was.

“I felt the referee could have handled that situation better.”
