CELTIC are preparing to laugh off a cheeky £1.2million offer for Maik Nawrocki.
The 23-year-old German-born former Poland Under-21 international centre-back arrived in a £4.3million switch from Legia Warsaw last summer.
The defender, who came to Parkhead with a soaring reputation, made his competitive debut in the 4-2 Premiership opening-day win over Ross County at Parkhead on August 5.
However, the player known as ‘Rocky’ to his team-mates, limped off at the end of the holders’ shock 1-0 League Cup loss against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park only two games later.
ALL OVER…Maik Nawrocki comes off the pitch after sustaining a first-half injury in the 1-1 draw with Ayr United in the pre-season friendly at Somerset Park last month.
By the time he had recovered, Brendan Rodgers had a settled partnership in the middle of the rearguard in Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales.
Rocky became a peripheral figure at the club and his bad luck continued when he had to be helped off in the 1-1 pre-season draw with Ayr United at Somerset Park that forced him to miss the trip to The States.
The 6ft-plus ball-playing stopper hasn’t featured in the two Premiership matchday squads against Killie (4-0) and Hibs (2-0) and he will be watching from the sidelines again when the Hoops face the Easter Road club in the League Cup in Glasgow on Sunday.
Former club Legia Warsaw are considering a lowball £1.2million offer to take the player back to Poland, according to local media GP24pl.
They will find they are wasting their time.
