CELTIC WILL LEARN EURO FATE

BARRING a disaster against Stjarnan in Iceland on Wednesday, Celtic will learn who they will face in the next round of Champions League qualification at today’s UEFA draw.

The SPFL champions, 2-0 ahead from the first leg, will be among 30 clubs who will be drawn in the third qualification round of Europe’s elite tournament – 17 winners of second round ties as well as 13 clubs who have received byes to this stage.

The draw will be seeded, with the 30 sides split into what is called the ‘Champions route’ – sides who have made it through the second round, as well as three new entrants – and the ‘League route’ -10 new entrants who finished second or third in their respective domestic leagues.

Ronny Deila’s men will subsequently be seeded as part of the ‘Champions route’.

Champions League third qualifying round ties will be played on July 28/29 and August 4/5.
