Celtic will need to dig deep for victory

1054

Neil Lennon’s most inspirational victory over Rangers arrived in January 2011 when a depleted squad in poor form outplayed their rivals.  Despite this it remains a concern that Gary Hooper and James Forrest, the manager’s two most favoured players, are injury doubts for tomorrow. Whether Hooper and Forrest are fit or not, we’ll need all the fighting spirit from the win last year if we want to leave with another win.

Six days ago at Hampden we witnessed what happens when a team in the middle of a results slump focus on the most game they have left in the season.  Kilmarnock are a team with enormous vulnerabilities and I’m prepared to bet than none of you witnessed their last win over Celtic in Glasgow, but they got the result.  Tomorrow is the biggest game in Rangers’ season.  You can forget about Ally McCoist’s comments that Celtic are firm favourites, that’s what passes as mind games across the city. Any win would be an enormous achievement from Celtic.

  1. Many thanks to Alex Thomson. I know he is only doing his job, but it was always going to be an outsider who exposed this culture of “succulent lamb”.

The feeling of vindication I feel right now is overwhelming. I was never paranoid, although I always knew that, but now everyone I know is being told that, especially those from the who follow TFOD.

If you are lucky enough to be going tomorrow, firstly stay together, stay safe. Secondly, PARTY. That is all.

    Enjoy tomorrow.

Paul67. I agree that tomorrow is Rangers biggest game of the season and no doubt it will be a hard game. However, we need to start winning more of the big games last Sunday is still not out of my system the Celtic players have a lot to prove ( can they handle the big games ? ).We had a long winning run and that run maybe clouded our judgement that we were watching a good Celtic team well Kilmarnock burst our bubble and there are a lot of players imo who need to prove they are Celtic Class, tomorrow would be a good game for them to start. H.H.

Thanks i thought it might have been a mib with a surname as a christian name somehow :)

You posted last night about the arrest of the lone soldier spirited out of afghanistan, the reports i’ve read suggest the crime was committed by many soldiers in retaliation for one of their comrades losing his leg in an attack the previous day. Nazi justice but we won’t read about that in our free press, long live the internet bampots.

Although the opposition are absolutely clueless the management and team have got to be up for this as much as they are.

They will be out to do their best, that will be injuring as many as they can, thats their limit.

Id settle for 0-13 right now.

    Paul,

Not sure I agree re Forrest and Hooper because they are Lennons 2 favoured players, when they play we have more predictability about us.

That inspirational victory in January last year – which I still rank as the best atmosphere I have ever experienced – was a completely new team and formation due to the injuries were ravaged with at the time.

In fact from memory every time we have a full complement of players we get beat.

I think in part its because Lennon says he doesnt believe in tactics, so tells the players to go out and win the game. Where the inferior huns set their team up to counter and block certain threats (by any means necessary as we have seen on countless occasions and winks).

Id like to see us set the team up to exploit hun weaknesses – I think we will be much stronger for it, than by picking his favourite players.

  14. Just read yesterdays celtictaxcase.

Good to see that not everyone is fooled by the myth, he’s up to his non-dignified neck in the corruption in not only Scottish football but European football aswell.

Never mind his favourite brown brogues what about the brown envelopes!!

    He didn’t did he?

    Surely not!!

More power to celtictaxcase’s shovel, keeping digging.

Yes, should Motherwell drop any points today, then we can win the league at Pestilence Park tomorrow.
