Celtic will need to dig deep for victory

1054

Neil Lennon’s most inspirational victory over Rangers arrived in January 2011 when a depleted squad in poor form outplayed their rivals.  Despite this it remains a concern that Gary Hooper and James Forrest, the manager’s two most favoured players, are injury doubts for tomorrow. Whether Hooper and Forrest are fit or not, we’ll need all the fighting spirit from the win last year if we want to leave with another win.

Six days ago at Hampden we witnessed what happens when a team in the middle of a results slump focus on the most game they have left in the season.  Kilmarnock are a team with enormous vulnerabilities and I’m prepared to bet than none of you witnessed their last win over Celtic in Glasgow, but they got the result.  Tomorrow is the biggest game in Rangers’ season.  You can forget about Ally McCoist’s comments that Celtic are firm favourites, that’s what passes as mind games across the city. Any win would be an enormous achievement from Celtic.

Near St Etienne, are you part of the France CSC?

The club has participation from Nice, Marseille, Bretagne & of course Paris (Harp bar @ place de Clichy)

  3. Very hapy with the team Neil has chosen for today.

    Scott to score – 4/1

    Joe to score – 5/1

    You heard it here…..;-)

    Enjoy the ride.

  4. I hope Chas distribution improves today, going forward all day not a problem but lacks the quality in his crossing. Delighted to see ledley and wanyama at the heart of the midfield, nice and solid. If we can get ki in some space in the final third we will get some joy.

The full-backs will be our weak spots, but then again what are they up against today?

I would have expected FPLG to play Vile Kyle up against our RB, with Elbows up front.

If they are stupid enough to give Ki space to use the ball, then we can control this, but he needs to deliver today.

There are a few on that bench who would start for me, but we need to trust Neil to get this right. Above all else, I hope he gets out of that sectarian cesspit in one piece.

    Enjoy the day everyone.

there are many aspects regarding the integrity of Scottish football and Scottish society in general which needs to be examined and questioned …. Callum’s integrity is not one of them.

Enjoy today’s game ….. once in a lifetime, doesn’t even come close

  7. According to @celticfc, it’s a flat 4-5-1. If so, they’ve never played like that all season. Wanyama/Ki/Ledley no experince of playing as a central block of three, and Stokes has only played lone striker in the more dynamic 4-2-3-1.

    Still a very good side.

Jesus Izaguirre couldnt have turned into such a shadow of his former self we put a right back in at left back!?

Would have gone for MAtthews and Izaguirre as full backs myself.

Cha in big games has too much of a tendency to have a mare.

We have a fight on our hands today bhoys.

Asides from a Celtic victory there are two things I wish for, that no Celtic player incurs a serious injury as a result of hun hooliganism and that every Celtic supporter sleeps soundly in their own beds tonight.

    I know I wont get all 3

  9. Kojo

  14. I posted earlier about the FBs and it seems a number of us see this as a possible weakness

For LB, Charlie or Joe can seemlessly slot into that role and Mattews can move to RB. Is Luistig injured?

Apart from that, this team should win easy, “should” – expect the huns to be dirty, violent, abusive and criminal

  15. Kojo

The time for him to stand up & be counted is now.
