Going three goals up at halftime allowed Celtic to play the second half against Motherwell at walking pace. A repeat performance tomorrow against Dundee would be ideal, but games cannot be scripted. You need to work for whatever you get first.
I would play the strongest available team from the start tomorrow and press Dundee as thoroughly as possible. Dundee are bottom of the league, while this means they are deficient in many areas, they are fighting for their livelihoods in a way few at Celtic will understand.
I know we all have a soft spot for our former player, Kenny Miller, who celebrates his 39th birthday on Sunday. You will remember the way he pounded the Celtic crest on his chest after scoring against Rangers 12 years ago – how proud he was to score his first goal for Celtic. The thrill of scoring for Dundee against Newco two weeks ago was evidently less exciting. Let’s hope he has a better birthday than Saturday afternoon.

Merry Christmas
Play the strongest ?
Not sure – I think injuries and recovery time will mean we will be without KT, Boyata, Christie, Edouard, Rogic and possibly Lustig. Play the team from Wednesday with James up front and Mikey on the right.
Arguably one of the best Christmas songs ever made…

Merry Christmas to CQN’rs everywhere
Just win tomorrow, Celtic. Save the swashbuckling until the 29th.
End the year win, win, win and the title’s all but in the bag.
Club chairman Ian Bankier (above), 65, has seen his salary rise by 60% in a year from £50,000 to £80,000.
Surely a totally disproportionate level of reward.
Time to roast my chestnuts.

How many times have we read articles on here proclaiming the unsustainability of the blessed Mon’s transfer record in his time at Celtic?
Won’t be long till we read of equally critical articles on our board members totally disspraportionate pay increases.

Good afternoon, friends.
Does anyone know the script with our youngest EVER scorer, Jack Aitchison. He went on loan at the start of the season to Dumbarton but I understand he returned to us in October though I don’t know who decided to cut short the arrangement. He isn’t listed on the official website as first team player but would that stop us including him in a full team squad?

With the protection the cheats with whistles afford Celtic players we better be working on full body armor for Karaoke Dembele if he makes the step up.
Shin pads will not be sufficient.
As madhun showed the other night the tackle from behind is still legal if on a Celtic player.
He is not in the minority with this view.
In an honest country the mssm would be in full protection mode for a young player and national treasure but as i have often commented they would rather fail than have successful Timmy leading the renaissance of Scottish football with the authorities on the same page.
This will factor into Dembele’s career choices and i doubt we will have him for long and he will probably choose England as his national side for enhancement of reputation.
So back to my sadly neglected task of yesterday and the long awaited Gold Medal Award in our Blogger/Driver competition….
This was delayed due to the sudden arrival of ma pal Tony into Sharkey’s intellectual corner and his startling announcement that he had just purchased a 7.5kg bag of white potatoes for £2.49 from Costco. This obviously demanded an extensive round of Guinness and Isle of Jura single malt (that whisky should really be on prescription).
Anyway at precisely 11.57am this morning I woke up on the couch, trousers still on but inside out/outside in. This will remain one of life’s enduring conundrums.
So back to the Gold Medal award that all three of those interested are eagerly awaiting. Can I just say that your enthusiasm has been staggering, although the mention of ‘staggering’ takes me back to September 2003 and our game wae Bayern in the fair city of Munich.
After the match we returned to the hotel and the wake was in full swing across the dance floor when Dominic Diamond appeared beside me at the bar. (Note …I think it was him, but due to losing half of the left hand side of my brain in 2011 I can’t be absolutely certain, but let’s just for the sake of the story assume that it was him, and not some other DJ…apologies to Dominik if it wasn’t him).
So “Dominik” purchased a tray of beers and turned to walk back to his table across the dancefloor, doing a jinky to avoid the gallivanting twisters as they mourned the earlier defeat.
There he was confronted by a Fräulein in full Bavarian rigout, blonde pigtails wae that stern look of disapproval dripping from her eyes…just as “Dominik” slipped a wee bit and almost cowped his tray.
“You sir” she announced “…are staggering”.
“Dominik” returned her stare and smiled replying…”Yer no’ bad looking yersel hen”!
Anyway back to the awards…here is the gold medal winner.

We often blame refusal to break our wage structure as reason player won’t be signed.
Good to see that our board have no problem granting themselves huge rises so strict adherence to financial prudence only applies to the ordinary staff and non important employees like the players.
Guess we now know what money in the bank was for.

Finally you are seeing sense on this one!
Yes, we should put out our strongest available team tomorrow. And on Wednesday. And on Saturday. And for just about every match we take the field for, mitigating circumstances notwithstanding.

Why read it and give them any credence at all?
Not saying you are guilty of it but MSM bashing is a deflection tactic used on here when anything remotely negative is said about any aspect of our team or club.
The MSM really are an irrelevance, don’t give them reason to believe otherwise.

That’s brilliant, but in no way deflects from your epic shame of watching that.
Guys picked the Mrs up from hospital and they said everything looks ok.
She is a bit happier now she has been checked over and a camera down into the stomach area, although she has still got a sickly feeling and bad indigestion, which she has had for months. But a relief that nothing showed up.?
Thanks again for all your wonderful support.
May god bless you all???

No doubt that Kenny Miller, on his return to Ayebrokes did make a contribution to, what was it, three SPL titles for thon ol’ club before departing for sunny Birmingham. EBTs may well also have given a sporting advantage, but then again maybe not.
Given that our home form has been pretty good this season I would certainly hope we are looking at a win tomorrow. Dundee are not competing with us, they are competing with Hamilton and St. Mirren, not to say that they will not put in an effort.
I said the other day, and I know it does sound a wee bit off kilter, but, three points carry a bit more importance this season, important then to get as many of them as we can through the season. Including tomorrow.

Spot on.
Too much complacency on here about the league and the poor away record that we have this season.
We can’t just expect to flick a switch in April/May to put it all right.
We dont want to get to May and wish we had another 5-10 pts in the bag.
Points earned now are just as valuable in the long run so lets do what we can to get the maximum tally possible.
Do that and we’ll cruise it.
