Celtic will need to work for whatever they get against Dundee

248

Going three goals up at halftime allowed Celtic to play the second half against Motherwell at walking pace.  A repeat performance tomorrow against Dundee would be ideal, but games cannot be scripted.  You need to work for whatever you get first.

I would play the strongest available team from the start tomorrow and press Dundee as thoroughly as possible.  Dundee are bottom of the league, while this means they are deficient in many areas, they are fighting for their livelihoods in a way few at Celtic will understand.

I know we all have a soft spot for our former player, Kenny Miller, who celebrates his 39th birthday on Sunday.  You will remember the way he pounded the Celtic crest on his chest after scoring against Rangers 12 years ago – how proud he was to score his first goal for Celtic.  The thrill of scoring for Dundee against Newco two weeks ago was evidently less exciting.  Let’s hope he has a better birthday than Saturday afternoon.

Canny believe you had the cajones to post 2112. It’s flippin magic. I was introduced to it by a friend around 78/79. He was a music freak and introduced me to real music and not radio 1. His favourite band was emerson, lake and palmer. Unfortunately he was murdered. Stabbed in the street by a wee boy who didn’t even know him. God rest you Jim and BGFC thanks for the memories.

    ==========================

TONYROME – tragic about your pal – mindless evil. Glad to have brought back some good memories too, though.

Sorry only replying just now – and same to you Delaneys Dunkey – me and Wee BGFC headed out last night for a couple of hours playing tunes in the Railway Inn in Chapelhall after I posted.

The wee man is getting better on the guitar and the accordion all the time – I think he’s heading for rock stardom!

We might be in McChuill’s later- before the game – assuming Christmas shopping goes well. We need three points today, Celtic. Need to start to put some pressure on the chasing pack – we keep giving them hope and encouragement so that needs to be nipped in the bud.

A wee laid-back Blackberry Smoke number to start the day for all the philanderers out there – .

lock it up and swallow the key.

Everybody’s got a little somethin’ to hide –

you can lay it all on me…”

Right, remember reading those questions, that’s, that’s where we are…

So a live process being scorned by the SFA, Celtic and everyone else in Scottish Football.

After all the kicking the can down the road we now have – Ignore it and it will go away…

    Shameful indeed…

  7. Almore

I can just see you bein met at the Airport by Family and friends, all keen to see you and expecting the customary ” You`re looking great, Big Al etc ” only to be met with a nervous enquiry, ” What was the score at Celtic Park??? ”

  8. Norriem

` Ryan Christie back today ? Could play up front`

I was thinking the same but I feel he will be on the bench just to be on the safe side.

Having said that, today, today`s game is more important than the Dons game on Wednesday.

  9. Celtic, Celtic thats the team for me,

    Celtic, Celtic on to victory,

There’s Clark, McNeill and Kennedy the best there;s ever been,

Jim Johnstone, Murdoch, Chalmers, John Divers and John Hughes,

And sixty thousand Celtic fans who proudly shout the news.

A beautiful song, very moving mate.I’ve been a long time admirer of Don’s work, brilliant to see him mentioned on CQN, what a place:))

There’s a very good documentary film about Don McCullin if you haven’t seen it it’s well worth a look it’s just called McCullin from 2012 and either Arena or Imagine one of those did a film on him too.

Incredible photographer but also an incredible man I think, one of my real heroes in the field, when you see his face and hear him talk you realise the price he paid to get the photographs.

Interestingly too, his career was effectively over when Murdoch took over the Times.

James Nachtwey’s film War Photographer is another one worth seeing, talk about being in the picture these two guys were at the forefront of bringing the truth back to us.

    Hail Hail

  16. DD

Then we will both be happy with that result today :-))

Time to go up for the Emerald Express with Sticky and the Bhoys.

    Cheerio for now,

  17. I see talkSPORT are now telling the world that Claude Puel, the Leicester manager is due for the old P45,and they have Brendan as favorite to take over, because,as they say,”He has never hidden his desire to return to the EPL”.

WTF.Should not read or listen,I know, but this just gers right on my wick.

  19. Think we will win today, but maybe not by the margins being predicted.Never easy to play without a striker, does not always come off.Dundee will pack their defence, and we have had trouble before breaking these tactics down.Any win will do me,of course hoping for a goalfest.

World Famous Glasgow Celtic for Christmas ?

  22. Good morning CQN from a damp and mild Garngad

My grandson predicted 5-0, so I went to the bookies on the way back from taking Mrs David66 for the old Christmas shop (soup products as well). Fecking 12/1 for 5-0 wtf. Any win will do of course.

A win today will set us up nicely for the tough 2 games to follow.

Tough, because referees will let our opponents kick the living day lights out of us.

MAH- glad you are out of hospital, stay strong, you are an inspiration for what you are going through.??

    Good morning fholks

After last weeks injury time goal for Tottiiiiiiingham saving Travelbhoy’s Pardnur chances for another week, our final two entrants go once again head to head.

    Their picks this week are:

    TravelBhoy’s Pardnur- Motherwell

    Gutenberg- Manchester Utd

We are delighted to announce that thanks to the generosity of all our entrants and especially to Stephen Houston, our two beneficiaries received today the following amounts towards their amazing causes

Lisbon Beneficiary- Eileidh Rose Puddles Project £676

Eileidh got her moniker Puddles from splashing about outside the main entrance at Celtic Park back in May 2015 after Mouldy, Robert, Kev and myself (Steve) had cycled from Forres Mechanics in support of her treatment for neuroblastoma in the US. Eileidh lost her fight with the disease in July 2017.

Eileidh Rose Puddles Project SCIO Registered charity number SC048237

    Seville Beneficiary-Mtoto International £244

Ashley, (Daughter of a CQNer) and her friend Jenna, initiated this project in 2015. Their goal is to provide clean water, school supplies, uniforms and education to the 150 or so displaced orphans in Eldoret, Kenya ( a 7 hour car journey from Nairobi ).

Ashley has spent 14 months over a 3 year period directly at the bible school in Eldoret. Her first visit was 2 week discovery. 2nd visit was for a month to arrange the logistics on how the non profit could work. Then she did 10 months to fully integrate with the students and community. Her last visit was November 2017 to make sure all was in place from an account ability perspective. I expert her and her husband Aaron will be going early in the New Year once the euphoria of being married settles in to normalcy.

Besides working full time as an aesthetician, Ashley actively has quarterly fund raising events for Mtoto International locally in Pickerington and further outreaches in the greater Columbus area. She is a youth leader at our church, C3 in Pickerington as is her husband.
