CELTIC’S £3.5m MISFIT HEADS FOR CUT-PRICE EXIT

CELTIC’S £3.5million misfit Luis Palma is heading for a cut-price exit in the summer.

The Honduran international winger has been on loan at Lech Poznan this season and the Polish club are now prepared to offer £2million for the Hoops’ forgotten man.

Team chief Niels Frederiksen insists he wants to keep the flamboyant 26-year-old forward, but he also admits his club could not possibly match when the champions paid for Palma when they bought him from Aris Thessaloniki in August 2023.

The boss, speaking in a report in the Glasgow Times, said: “There will be time to decide on his future and, in my opinion, he’s also quite happy in Poznan.”

La Liga side Sevilla have also been linked with Palma, who still has two years to run on his Celtic contract.

UP, UP AND AWAY…Luis Palma skips past a challenge from Ryan Astley in the 3-3 draw at Dens Park on January 14 2025 – one of the Honduran’s last appearances for Celtic.

Palma spent the second half of last season in Greece with Olympiacos, but they didn’t take up the option to make the switch permanent.

He stated recently he would like another crack at becoming a success at Parkhead, as CQN reported.

He admitted: “I want to have a second chance, I have a contract with them, I’m still part of the club and if they say I have to return, I’ll do it in the best way possible.

“My dream is to return to a high-performance league; for me, the Scottish league was a high-performance one.”

It appears Palma’s hopes are about to be scuppered.
