CELTIC’S £3m TARGET

CELTIC have been told they will have to splash £3million if they are to firm up their interest in Boca Juniors striker Sergio Araujo.
The 23-year-old frontman is currently on loan at Spanish outfit Las Palmas and Hoops boss Ronny Deila is reported to have taken the opportunity of watching him during the club’s January break in Gran Canaria.
Araujo will return to Argentina when his temporary transfer expires at the end of the campaign. Boca may be persuaded to allow the player to return to Europe on another season-long loan.
The volatile Buenos Aires-born attacker played for his country in the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalaraja, Mexico, and scored in the opening 1-1 draw with Brazil.
Unfortunately, he spoiled a superb performance by being sent off five minutes from time.
Deila is looking to beef up his frontline with John Guidetti looking increasingly likely to quit the club at the end of his loan spell from Manchester City.
And the Parkhead gaffer will move on £4.2million misfits Teemu Pukki and Amido Balde if he receives reasonable bids in the summer.
Finnish flop Pukki has already stated he isn’t keen on returning to the Glasgow giants and would prefer a move to Spain when his contract expires with Brondby.
