We recently discussed that clubs Celtic approach in the hope of signing one of their players would smell blood. We are a club under pressure to acquire, everyone knows it.
Mika Baur has apparently agreed terms to join Celtic. Paderborn, his club, can afford to wait until the final days of August, when they could reasonably hope to attract other bidders.
I have major concerns about breaking the wage structure to acquire a player, this sets off a cost chain reaction. But if wages are agreed, a one-off fee is not threatening. There is also the matter of how discussions happen. Are both parties in a room together? Are daily phone or video calls taking place? Or is all this done at arm’s length?
I’m sure Celtic have sold what they can do for the player’s career. Tell Paderborn a player they developed will be in the Champions League window and a likely future target for the ELP. Tell them what you can do for their future roadmap.
Getting a deal over the line this result means over paying or doing a really good job on the vendor. I suspect we’ve missed the boat on the latter and may have to do the former.

One night in Lisbon
Off to see Celtic.
Still awaiting your reply as to when you walked away from Celtic? Ie how long since you gave up your season ticket?
Now they have the Meada cash, they’ll go and buy someone!
Still laughing at the suggestion that a Jesuit school in Glasgow is somehow undermining Celtic.

who is suggesting the school undermines celtic ?
what i am saying is the class divide between owners private education at saint Aloysius and st josephs and suppoters is evident in the clubs history.
Hogh for £11 million

Stop being a dick.
I will miss the mercurial Samurai, a highlight for me in our Iconic Hoops
“The last four and a half years at Celtic have been the most special chapter of my career and my life.”
“It has been an incredible honour to wear this badge, to play for this amazing club, and to share so many unforgettable moments with my teammates, the staff, and the best supporters in the world.”
“Thank you for standing by me through every high and low.”
“Your incredible support gave me strength every single day, and I will always be grateful.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in Glasgow who welcomed and supported my wife and children.”
“Because of your kindness and generosity, my family was able to enjoy an unforgettable time here. Glasgow will always hold a very special place in our hearts and will forever be our second home.”
“My son loves Celtic so much that he already says he wants to wear the Celtic shirt and play at Celtic Park one day.”
“I truly hope that dream comes true, and I hope our family will be back here again someday.”
“Thank you to everyone connected with Celtic for everything.”

To be honest I didn’t see your contribution, think it was Valebhoy who said Nicholson was about to outdo Clancy as the worst form of OA.
Clancy is just a terrible referee and MN who as TBB has said on a number of occasions is an accomplished lawyer, is in the wrong job doing his masters bidding.
New article posted; come on over !

Arigato Daizen – somewhere only we know
Who’s got a tear not me lol
We need a renewal of the squad, a fresh impetus of new quality players to go again, its the end of the Ange/Brendan success that is upon us now
Won the SPFL title in the last 5 mins
Outside CQN the fanbase know the size of the job required for the football dept to progress
Inside Celtic Park a billionaire is imposing his strict financial control of the club, something has to give soon
I don’t want to be going to a Celtic Park this season with the quality not on the park due to a Billionaires ego
When an irresistible force such as you
Meets an old immovable object like me
You can bet just as sure as you live
Somethin’s gotta give, somethin’s gotta give, somethin’s gotta give
UPDATE: Celtic have agreed a club record fee of £11m, plus add-ons, for Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh.
The 25yo is keen to join the Scottish champions and is pencilled in for a medical in the coming days.

various internet searches brings this back.
Dr. Michael Kelly, the former Celtic F.C. director and Lord Provost of Glasgow, attended St Aloysius’ College, a fee-paying Catholic independent school located in Glasgow.
Prominent Scottish lawyer and high-profile Celtic FC supporter/legal counsel Paul McBride attended St Aloysius’ College in Glasgow.
White smoke White smoke the clubs record signings on his way after 8 months

Gentlemen, start your engines…..
I never watch a player’s youtube compilation until its more or less done.
I watched KH for Bobo there.
Good big player etc but what struck me was his will/want to score goals….really determined big dude.
I think if we had now to hear that McGregor and Nygren (he’ll be even better next year) were defo here for next season we’d all feel a bit better.
But maybe the biggest lift for the whole club (along with more good signings of course) would be a new contract for AJ….the solidity he gave us when he returned from injury was, i believe, the catalyst for us winning the league.
I said in March….we’ll sell for £60m and buy for £40m.
If we get the signings and the retention right and with the Martin factor it could be a great season.
My daughter and son are Old Aloysians. Am I still allowed on here or do I have to leave? 🤣
Daizen….thank you and good luck.
Will always be a Celtic hero
I can safely say…we will never see his likes again.
Hope he smashes it👊
BELFAST JOSEPH if you are about who was last CELTIC player to score in first 3 games for club.
Celtic 2 AC Milan 0 (Duran, Forrest)
Good little performance by Celtic, quite composed at times.
Opportunistic goal from Duran, and if SPL defenders think they can relax now Daezan has gone, they are very much mistaken. Made the opening for Jamesie too. CCV does bring a calm to the proceedings, and his presence has helped both Donovan, not yet twenty, to a good show at right back, and Murray @ CB.
Kept our shape and the ball well, and worked in tandem to win it back when Milan got forward.
Good to see KT back, both Reo & Engels getting pre-sale workouts, reality wise, but encouraging effort by us all the same….
Maybe spoke too soon, penalty to Milan
2-1
Did I say 2-1?
2-2 after Milan pressure and break to our LHS, KT fails to block the cross, header from centre of the box….
Not so good.
Young Camarda for them looks a star in the making.
Liam on for KT, Osmand on too, looks lively.
Looked like Liam fouled in the box from LHS corner…..
SPL ref thinks otherwise
Thats twice Duran fouled on the break at the halfway line by Osuga, nasty too
Milan player gets a smile from SPL ref….
Did Hogh score?
AC lot stronger this half capable of going through the gears…..
Celtic still in it though with a couple of good breaks….
McCardle (I think) blasts over after Osmand wins ball in the 18 box….
Hatton looking good.
Ox just past RHS post after fantastic crossfield ball from TR to wide left then to the Ox
Great move worth a goal
SPL ref determined not to give a foul against AC Milan
2 min ET
2-2 Full Time
AC Milan the more complete team, but we could have won it late in the game…..
Good work out for a lot of players including a few of our younger players.
AJ will improve our back four if we keep him, but Donovan moving forward, think he’ll make the grade @ RB and TR is an experience full back. Back 4-5 fairly stable, even without AJ & Trusty so goalkeeper apart need to concentrate more on replacing/strengthening in midfield and up front. Hogh & Bohr will help there if we can complete the deals as I hope we can, and the Ox look.as if he can play a part.
Work in progress granted but, still have Yang, Trusty and AJ to come back in so not all doom & gloom least not from my perspective.
Osmand is a good player. His touch and movement are excellent and he’s still learning. He was subject to two very strange decisions from Walsh today. He was penalised twice for no apparent reason, which puzzled everyone.
Glad that we have moved on to Celtic Player this season.
That means that people like James Forrest and Paul John Dykes and our own Chairboy will be unable to watch our games on an illegal stream.
Hopefully they will realise now that their opinion on the team means nothing while the rest of us season ticket holders and overseas subscribers fork out part of our wages to support the club and actually see the games.
It will also mean the stadium will be rammed for every game.
Great move👏

Didn’t puzzle me…..
Celtic Mac on 25th July 2026 5:50 pm
Puzzled me! The non corner that he gave a foul for was remarkable.
