If ever you needed a reason to convince you to ignore the vast majority of transfer speculation which inflicts football fans from May until 30 August, the signing of Miku Fedor is a gift. Spanish football is suffering from the kind of economic wake-up call which makes it possible for aspirational Scottish clubs (I know there’s only one) to sign strikers first choice strikers. Miku came through the scouting process last season and remained on the list but the deal had to be right.
25 goals in 85 games for a struggling team in the top league in the world (Exhibit A: Atletico) suggests we might have someone who will flourish on an acre of Glasgow and will bring experience and confidence onto the field when he faced Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow. The deal has the hallmarks of Peter Lawwell’s try-before-you-buy policy. Get them in on a loan with an option to buy. If they are successful, do the deal, if not, you’re not stuck with Ulrik Laursen breezing into training asking the other players how they got on at the weekend.
Right now the most important question is, what shape of team does Neil Lennon have in mind? Miku plays through the middle and on the right. He’s fast and he’s 6’1”. Have we bought a someone to play on the right of a front three? Perhaps, but with circa 15 first-choice midfield players to accommodate the plan is surely more complex.
More on this when we have a quieter moment, I’m off to bed to forget all apache command line prompts until January. We’ll talk goalkeepers over the weekend.

WE ACTUALLY SPENT £3.4M
£1.4 on efe £2m on foster
we are in a economic crash coupled with the loss of servco
what do you think we will do with the money? invest it? split it over 3 years incase we dont get in next season?
o you think the board are sneaking it out the back door?
corporate failure? …..wehave been cheated!
and even if we won the league….there was no guarantee that we would have qualified either!
PL is one of the most sought after ceos in european fooball…
the orc has crashed and burned! we are ok ? why? partly due to PL
wse are the champions
we are in the champions league
we have a great team developing
we have a great manager who isnt moaning
we have sold over 40000 season tickets
we get under £1m in tv money
the rest of the finance streams are delivered by the board
sick of your constant negativity ….it wears me out !

Lots of negativity going around. I,m sure we,ve just enhanced our team by brining in a CB that we all know we needed, a striker that we all know we wanted and a golie that will never see first team action. FFS, some tims are never happy.
I,m happy. Bring on the hibbies.
Hail Hail
I think we wasted £1.4 million today, again another waste of millions instead of expanding the youth & scouting setup at Lennoxtown…are we ever going to learn?
All credit must go to Neil Lennon, that’s what i think.

Have no idea what your email is, nor do I particularly care.
Your it stupid. You prove it many times over on here. Your comment was though.
Who told you to expect losses? Why is Lawell the only reason responsible or the entire transfer dealing our club?
Stop seeing what you want to see.

I’m having nightmares remembering that pair-and I’m not even asleep!
I’ll see your pair-through my fingers,hiding my eyes-and raise you Allan Sneddon….
pauloanthony,
where did you get the numbers from, and why did we spend so much on a loanee
A Ceiler Gonof Rust
Yeah well, I dont like the way Efe heeders the baw on Youtube :D
just because we bring in a centre half doesnt automatically enhance the team. I hope he is another find like Kayal. Like us all, time will tell if that’s the case.
HH
Who is the other striker?
@ Big G
Ah have a lot of time for Russell so ah expected him tae be signed. At the moment it looks like how ah play Fifa 12 right now, dont buy anyone and promote youth. The only problem is the fact ye cannae voutch fir the youth.
Ah feel let doon!!!!!!

Attendances @ CP are down due to the state of the UK economy in other
words people don’t have the same amount of money as what was around
a few years ago it’s now called Global Recession if you look back when
Mon was Manager and Henke/Lubo/Sutton & Hartson where playing
Attendances @ CP was Season Card Holders was 53K since then with
a combination of two recessions D3 Cheats FC in other words no local
Glasgow Darby’s & The SFA & Cheats FC bringing Scottish Football into
Disrepute is it really any surprise that Attendances @ CP is down
As for your remarks about the new additions hopefully they will turn out
to be good Additions we can’t be unlucky all the time as regards to our
Dealings within the said hit and miss modern day transfer casino
The Board PL & Co have been wise as regards to the 20 Odd Mill +
Which can be used to write off the Club’s debt and used for future
wise investment
I like many other Hoops Fans out there will never want to see our
Club go down the Road that nearly took us into oblivion back in
the Early Nineties
So prudence and careful spending does pay off
Money does not grow on Treas
stringer…… we could have signed mesi ronaldo and ramos and they would stillhae moaned about PL
when he goes they will regret what they have said!
but honestly…..they bore the crap out of me! bore bored bored of their constant berating of the board
petec – and credit must also go to the magnificent Celtic support, yerself included.
Because when all is said and done – the Celtic support were responsible for making Lenny manager, the support demanded Lenny got the gig.
Neil Lennon saved Lawwell’s bacon in the long run – i wonder does he even realise this fact?
Big G, I would hope our proven scouting team have done more than watch youtube.
Then again, they did bring us Bangura.
The only way is up. Bring on the hibs then bring on the spaniards by the score…………
Hail Hail Bruv. Not many peeps want to respond to me as a newbie poster.
Happy happy hoopster:)
Stringer B……,
“Who told you to expect losses?”
Paul67
if you keep up with the blog, you wont have to ask stupid quesions
So when McMoist whispered what he whispered I bet he didn’t have a vision, a snapshot of 18 months later.
Chillax.csc
Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak.
Peterhead, Elgin and Berwick Rangers.
I wonder what 18 months time will look like. ;))
Praise the Almighty Lord
neil efe is a permanent transfer for £1.4m
foster is a permanent transfer at £2 m
From a glass half full type of guy I’ve got to say that I’m totally underwhelmed with our business. On paper the spine of the team has been strengthened, 2 GK’S,CH and a forward; why another GK today, has Zaluska moved? is there an injury? A loan striker, do we need to try before we buy? It looks like Champions League qualification stopped players leaving rather than bring top signings in.
Ambrose may prove to be a good signing, I certainly hope so but up front I’m sure we could have spent some money despite the gloom and doom predictions. For a few hundred thousand more, than we supposedly bid, we could have secured another exciting young forward…maybe we’ll go back in January but I don’t see a rush to purchase the thousands of season tickets waiting to be snapped up. Alongside this I was looking for some experience to guide us through the next few challenging months but at present it really looks as if the purse strings have been tightened.
We certainly cleared the decks but we look ill prepared for the UCL after that window.
Vic Ajax
Here’s a conundrum for ye…
Russel is 22..
valued at £2mil
Tony Watt is 18…
valued at ?????
would it not make more sense to invest in a long term contract for Watt rather than another waste of millions because fans demand signings?
When the feck…pardon the sweary are those who demand signings ever going to wake up and smell the coffee that we will never…NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sign top class players.
Russell is a good player but is he better than Commons?
HH
might i suggest posters keep their anger for next season when
sevco are parachuted in to the top tier of a reconstructed league as sure as night follows day, after all we will get millions more, and it will stem those losses, remember its just
business.
neil …we all expected losses….
we have a bigger wage bill than Benfica and without CL revenue we will lose money.
but hopefully with 14 players offloaded … i think the books will be balanced
Wholly disgusted with this window crap. One defender and thats it. ah sorry but ahm fecking mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big G, what do you mean that you don’t like rave/trance sound bites!

It’s so narrowly predictable.
Just to lift the head once in a while and absorb the economic and hierarchical structure Celtic work in would provide a Damascan moment for some. If they allowed themselves to see it.
I’ve had enough. This is too much like hard work. Bed.
