If ever you needed a reason to convince you to ignore the vast majority of transfer speculation which inflicts football fans from May until 30 August, the signing of Miku Fedor is a gift. Spanish football is suffering from the kind of economic wake-up call which makes it possible for aspirational Scottish clubs (I know there’s only one) to sign strikers first choice strikers. Miku came through the scouting process last season and remained on the list but the deal had to be right.
25 goals in 85 games for a struggling team in the top league in the world (Exhibit A: Atletico) suggests we might have someone who will flourish on an acre of Glasgow and will bring experience and confidence onto the field when he faced Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow. The deal has the hallmarks of Peter Lawwell’s try-before-you-buy policy. Get them in on a loan with an option to buy. If they are successful, do the deal, if not, you’re not stuck with Ulrik Laursen breezing into training asking the other players how they got on at the weekend.
Right now the most important question is, what shape of team does Neil Lennon have in mind? Miku plays through the middle and on the right. He’s fast and he’s 6’1”. Have we bought a someone to play on the right of a front three? Perhaps, but with circa 15 first-choice midfield players to accommodate the plan is surely more complex.
More on this when we have a quieter moment, I’m off to bed to forget all apache command line prompts until January. We’ll talk goalkeepers over the weekend.

Vic
I would have been satisfied if we didnt spend a penny and invested the money in the club structures like youth academy, stadium management, scouting network.
Very pleased to have recruited a defender and another striker, given that we’ve already beaten the Finnish, then the Swedish Champions, just to get into the money proper.
The ole miserabalists should consider the harsh economic reality of Scottish stadia, in the bleak winter amidst of bankruptcy, and recession.
Hail Hail
*seat 13 next to mine, – empty*
We have kept Big Vic….he is young,he will thrive,he will improve at a rate of knots. Tony Watt has to be kept at all costs. I’m sure he’ll want to stay. And there are ROCKS in our team.
So much to look forward to.
And Neil Lennon has brought us to where we are today……and he is on an upward curve.
Positivity goes a very very long way. Priests, philosophers and physicians have always known this.
Our Bhoys need our positivity…..We are Celtic, admired throughout the footballing world.
What’s not to be happy about?
KTF & HH!
After what Celtic have put up with I would not bet against us upsetting Europe and it’s equilibrium.

Big G,
jkeep kowtowing, knees bent eyes on the ground.
and call me sir
So no playmaker then.
We stay solid in the middle, and “create” (run faster than) from the wings.
I will be happy if we play Mr Commons in the hole.
Build the team around him, or buy another brain at Christmas.
Wednesday was not a dream, we played well and we will do so tomorrow, and the next game and the one after that. We probably wont win the CL but we’ll give it our best shot :_).

As an old freind on another forum used to say “We Are Celtic, we are all Neil Lennon”. Copyrite of The Black Knight.
Hibs tomorrow and an 11 oclock start. No more drams (booooo).
Goodnight Celtic men n wummin.
Miku was the 12th top goalscorer in Spain last season …. Ahead of the likes of Santa cruz, postiga and fabregas .. And bearing in mind of the quality of their team he only finished 5 goals behind llorente

Very impressive.
Your son knows what he is at.
Excellent post.
It’s at times like these I wish I still lived in Glasgow…..I’d borrow against my pension credit to get a season ticket. I’d be a grandaddy ultra. I am SO pleased we are at the top table in Europe and I’m totally delighted to be coming back to my old home city to watch The Bhoys v Barca. You have no idea how much THAT means to me. It’s better than Chrismas. Believe.

You shouldn’t have told me that seat’s an empty ;-))
It is seemingly the same people who moan and are negative irrespective the argument subject.
I enjoy supporting a successful Celtic, it is obvious from the comments here, many don’t. If we followed the advice and financial expertise / business acumen of ST or Canamalar, we’d be bust. How far should we have tried to compete financially against cheats? Go bust as well? All the experts on here seem to know the exact point which would have guaranteed success and kept us afloat – totally deluded!!!
I would’ve liked a wee bit more from the transfer window, however I am delighted the players that got us into the CL will be given the opportunity to improve by playing in it.

PS BlantyreTim – I’m not addressing your points as you’re stupidly sleeping and only raging because yer bevvied, you’ll be happy in the morning with yer hangover ;-)) aye right!
I don’t envy the EPL but it truly sickens me at times, still, what can we do.
The EPL aside… the rule about non-European Community passport holders having to have played the majority of their nations (or adopted nations) international games before being granted an U.K. work visa can seem a wee bit harsh – or even downright warped – at times. We may have some valid whinges when our governments’ economic migration criteria are compared against that of other EC countries.
We’re fortunate as a club that we have the wherewithal to fund the transfer of international players, albeit not the game’s aristocracy but a decent calibre of player nonetheless. We in effect can trade at ‘our’ level within sovereign/UEFA laws and ornamental regulations.
But bear a thought for others; those same (restrictive) rules do not allow the likes of Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen, Dundee Untied, etc. to operate at ‘their’ level. Regardless of mutual desire, those clubs cannot bring in good players from out with the EC that are indicative of their respective squad’s genre. All those clubs are denied the opportunity to take a punt on intercontinental prospects and the potential to develop them before selling them on for necessary readies.
Our league and the member clubs, including us, are economically prejudiced by more than the likes of Sky. Maybe it would be to those clubs benefit to pool their resources and fund regional schools of football excellence.
There are so many non-level playing fields and Scotland seems to be at the bottom looking up on every single one of them.
No one club and its supporters are going to change anything.
miki67,
it might no look like it, but me too :oD))
Ah still trust Neil even if ah don’t see it.

I received a typed but signed letter from NF and Celtic (not their fault) in reminding me it was empty, – yes you’ve guessed it, coincidentally since my brother passed.
But i’ll take a 26 year old beardy Tim like you anyday, given the rest of the row are moany, and all called Brendan.
This was a good window, I don’t like the swaithes of new green empties particularly in the
Lisbon Lions end.
It really is a tough ole game, fighting Huns.

Vic Ajax, if your not in it to win it then don’t compete.
What a load of tripe so by winning ones League and
getting past two qualifiers hardly before the Season
has really started in ones own League then one should
then say ‘Oh it’s okay the games a bogay we’ll just
hand over the 15Mill + The Gate Receipts The TV Deals
The Business Box’s Etc-etc all over because we should
not be there in the first place are you for real and
anyway apart from the obvious two or three big Teams
who can say from the off that they will probably win it
there is not much difference between the rest of the
Heard and that’s a fact and also with a smile from
Lady Luck who knows one might go all the way
through to the Final and maybe even win it
Look @ Chelsea last Season they rode there luck
and it paid dividends in the end
Or as the cliche states if your name is on the Cup
then it’s on the Cup
