CELTIC’S JANUARY PERTH DATE

CELTIC will play their rearranged Premiership game against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday January 29.

The champions were due to play in Perth on Sunday December 8, but, of course, will now face Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit in the Betfred League Cup Final at Hampden on the same date.

Neil Lennon’s men will face a 7.45pm kick-off against the Saints who were the opposition when they kicked off their quest for nine in a row in Glasgow on August 3.

On that occasion, Scotland’s title kings were unstoppable as they raced to their biggest win of the season so far with Mikey Johnston opening the scoring with some slick play in the box and Ryan Christie helped himself to a hat-trick while Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham and Leigh Griffiths added the others as the Hoops ran amok.

A similar scoreline would suit Lennon and Co in January.
